lovely weather for havign a dog!

fab walk in the forest yesterday with - wait for it - the whole family including teenagers! Shock
not too hot under the trees, steppedog impecibly behaved!

Out early this morning and walked in trainers instead of walking boots or wellies - yeah!

TropicPlunder · 08/05/2018 14:11

Awww TeatimeCollie is lovely!
About paddling pools....mine had no interest in water until the kid went in one, then the was happy as anything in it! She only went in when not invited or encouraged....typical! She's also a big fan of the hosepipe....but only when you swish it about for her

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/05/2018 15:54

Dh got him in ours. Just chucked a sausage in.

TropicPlunder · 08/05/2018 17:14

Ha! Sausage-bobbing. A great way to cool down

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/05/2018 17:24

It was pretty hilarious. He has decided he loves it now though

BiteyShark · 08/05/2018 17:28

We appear to have had our first picnic related incident of the year BlushBlushBlush

PestDog off lead in the park, I noticed three women 20-30m away but not their picnic. PestDog wanders in their direction and wonder why his recall is failing. The next thing I know he's emerged with the contents of an entire packet of wafer thin ham poking out of his mouth. I duly wrestled it out of his mouth and for some reason I attempted to hand it back, minus a dog mouth shaped chunk. They were very nice about it ("you can keep it" they said handing me the packaging and not uttering words about keeping the beast under control) but I was utterly mortified

Ooooops how embarrassing. I can just imagine their faces when you tried to give it back to them Grin

Yes she will be teatimecollie Grin

Summer isn’t summer without at least one episode of dog-induced picnic mortification Blush

Teatimetoller is sporting a fetching look this evening - he ran through a tunnel which has been sitting outside in the garden all winter with ‘interesting’ results Grin

Avocados, that made me laugh and remember black lab Dixie about twenty years ago getting ahead in a bit of parkland and consuming the entire contents of a picnic whilst family were playing with a ball nearby. Family not amused and we gave them twenty quid to buy some lunch and slunk away with lab on lead. Not funny at the time, fond memories of the greedy beast now though.
Teatimetoller showing his eco credentials.
Cocodog behaving impeccably as she steams towards her second birthday, probably speaking too soon🙄

Squirrel26 · 09/05/2018 23:20

SquirrelDog not behaving impeccably and has killed another of my bras. Hmm WHY I cannot learn to put them away in a draw I don’t know. (It was somewhere reasonably awkward for him to get too, and not somewhere he usually theives things from, and in any case he made a special trip upstairs for it. How did he KNOW??)

BiteyShark · 10/05/2018 06:01

Awww it's because they remind him of you Squirrel Grin. I have to shut socks and pants away here as they aren't safe.

So BiteyDogs cut is still looking sore but still healing although I did wonder if his pad was a bit swollen but it's so hard to tell. Really hoping we still get away without the vets with this.

thegirls everyone tells me they calm down a lot after they turn 2. I am hoping that's true Grin

I can leave dirty or clean laundry around and cocodog won’t touch it, she has never been a big chewer. But DH tends to fling his clothes around the bedroom and she often will gather them up to make a nest for herself 😁 I don’t stop her as she doesn’t shed and DH is a scruffy so and so and doesn’t appear to notice the creases. She also makes a beeline for his work shoes and licks the undersides which we do stop cos it is gross😕

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 10/05/2018 07:00

Bitey, glad he is healing. Nice bit of support btw over on the sleep deprivation thread😀

Squirrel26 · 10/05/2018 07:35

I don’t know why I can’t learn to just put my flipping clothes away. I am an idiot. Hmm

I’m going to keep telling people that SquirrelDog is ‘probably almost 2’ until he calms down. If that ever happens. Grin

steppemum · 10/05/2018 09:59

Oh laughing so much at you handing the pack of ham back!!

(mildly hysterically because it is something steppedog would do, and I would probably stand there trying to hand the ham back!)

steppemum · 10/05/2018 10:13

steppedog has a sock fetish. Any socks, single or paired up that are left out.

All that is except dd2s dirty school socks which seem to always be on the floor in the lounge. Now if he could learn to pick those up...

noitsnotteatimeyet · 10/05/2018 11:05

Teatimetoller also has a sock fetish - he doesn’t chew them, just buries them in the garden if given half a chance Hmm. He’s particularly fond of dh’s wellie socks which he manages to winkle out even when they’ve been stuffed right down into the toes ...

steppemum · 10/05/2018 11:39

no burying here, he just collects them. Sometimes in his bed, sometimes down the garden.

TropicPlunder · 10/05/2018 18:18

Aww I was off work today sick, and my lovely dog was all concerned and spooned me in bed Grin what do yours do, which you find really touching?

BiteyShark · 10/05/2018 18:22

Hope you feel better soon Tropic

Mine puts his paw and head on me which melts my heart.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 10/05/2018 18:54

@Tropic I haven't been unwell since PestDog came into my life, but he considers spooning to be one of his nightly duties Grin

TropicPlunder · 10/05/2018 20:39

Ha mine is getting too big for nightly spooning! I love how they make you feel better. TropicDog is also great at comforting my 4 year old with licks and wagging....making sure the whole gang is fine

Wolfiefan · 10/05/2018 21:52

Too big? Wolfie pup says rubbish!! No such thing. Grin

TropicPlunder · 11/05/2018 06:26

Does she sleep in your bed, Wolfie?!
