Poorly BiteyDog

Started my own thread as feel awful keep bringing the puppy survival thread down with my woes.

So bought him home from the vets tonight which was a massive mistake. Started vomiting again so we have just done a dash back to the emergency vets for an anti-sickness injection.

Held off admitting him again as I think they will have no choice but to open him up and look around all of his abdomen next week and selfishly I want to spend some time with him before they do that.

Second mistake was not readmitting him as the injection hasn't stopped it. Going to take him back first thing and let them look after him for the rest of the weekend. I keep thinking did I give him too much to eat too soon? But he's vomiting liquid and not food Sad

It's heartbreaking to see him in so much discomfort. I would rather it was me that was ill Sad The poor boy has had more exams and scans than anything and despite them hurting him he still is so friendly.

I know we were up to approx £1200 when we went back on Saturday morning but then we have 3 overnights and days admission which includes the weekends along with all his drugs and other scans. So glad I won't have to pay and we roll over soon to another years limit but really worried I don't have enough cover in case this happens again at the beginning of a year.

Just back from the vets for more blood tests but he is back to his normal naughty self so I know he feels better Grin

I was thrilled when my poorly pup tigger bounced me and grabbed me with her teeth. Blush

Poor you and poor BiteyDog, it is so stressful when they are poorly. My young GSD had a similar episode with his tummy when he was younger, it was so awful. I thought I would lose him at a few points, he just couldn’t keep anything down and lost so much weight very quickly.

In his recovery I gave him a good probiotic to build his tummy guy flora up again and have kept him on it at a low level. It might be worth thinking about for your boy to help build his tummy back up again. I used pro kolin entererogenic- hope that helps.
