Sick dog...to take to the vets or not?

My girl woke me up at 4am, came down to 2 pools of vomit, she continued to vomit for over an hour but was outside so I could not see what she was bringing up (indoors it was mainly bile and grass), I'm not sure if she has diarha as again she was outside and there's no light, eventually she settled with me on the sofa but she is trembling and is still trembling now. She does to the trembling thing sometimes, she's a SBT and this seems to be something they do but this has continued, it's now 8.30am.

She's ten years old, occasionally vomits in the morning, I think just due to a empty stomach but otherwise seems healthy.

Do I take her into the vets? Or do I wait?

I am really worried about her Sad

Hoping for good news xx

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 16/09/2017 19:47

Hope it goes well.

Lovemusic33 · 16/09/2017 19:52

Thank you. I'm trying to remember if she has had any tennis balls lately as she tends to tear them up, vet said it could have been something she ate over a week ago. She doesn't tent to eat things though (other than her food and cat poop). I'm sat by the phone waiting, I think the earliest I will hear anything is 9pm, vet said 2-3 hours until out of surgery.

Hope it all goes well, many vets won't offer payment plans unless you ask, don't be too proud OP. Good luck X

It's really tough working out when to go to the vet, I've marched mine in panicking over something that has gone by the next day and it's cost a small fortune. Well done for taking her back, and hope she's OK.

notapizzaeater · 16/09/2017 20:38

Aww poor love, hope she ok

dudsville · 16/09/2017 22:09

Poor pup, at least you should know soon what it is she's struggling with.

Threenme · 16/09/2017 22:13

Op hope pooch is okFlowers filly you are horrible

Lovemusic33 · 16/09/2017 22:17

She's critical Sad, she had two obstructions, one being a corn on the cob (mini one I'm guessing as we don't eat corn on the cob) and the other was a mass of grass, they were in separate parts of her stomach so she has had 2 surgeries. Part of her stomach had started to die and her pancreas is damaged, she's at risk of phnomonia due to inhaling vomit during surgery, she's also at risk of infection in her stomach. She's been givin strong pain killers and antibiotics, she will be kept under sedation to keep her calm through the night. Vet will call if she goes down hill. The vet is staying with her all night, they will call me in the morning.

so sorry to read this, Bear

Slartybartfast · 16/09/2017 22:37

it is a really difficult question for mumsnet, you inevitably get the most unsympathetic posters giving a hard time.

ignore, and best wishes.

Thinking of your pooch Flowers

ItsNachoCheese · 16/09/2017 22:48

seeyamonday is that nutribotic paste by any chance? My vets have recommended it for ddog but ive not heard anyone using it. The much cheaper alternative the vet says was natural yoghurt but the nutribiotic was obviously better
