HI there, we picked our puppy, Harvey, up last Tuesday and so far so good although I need to give most of that credit to my daughter who has been so patient and caring with him! We are persevering with the house training, as long as we are consistent we seem o be doing ok. Mostly all in the garden, emergency pads in the house which seem to be used only occasionally.

Hi, hoping someone can give some advice. Pup has had diarhhoea for 9 days. Took her to the vet a week ago who had her put on rice and chicken diet. She's only had that for the last week and poos are only slightly better...more cottage cheese like than completely liquid. Do I need to take her back to the vet as its not fully better after a week? She is 13 weeks and otherwise acting completely normal. Happy, playful, eating well, not been sick.

Hooray! Today Tibby (age 11.5 weeks) has asked to go outside every time he needed to - even though the boiler was being replaced today!

He's been trying so hard and we've had accidents at the back door, but today is fantastic!

He's also been Mr Friendly to the boiler man, my psychiatrist and the piano teacher. Good boy Tibby!

We've got him now! Meet Stanley our Cocker spaniel 12wks old tmw. Whined and barked for about 15 mins until silent last night in his crate. But barked for a full 20 mins whilst I went for a shower this morning leaving him in there 😊 pees and poos in garden and has eaten well. Knows his name (breeder been using it) and will sit so far.. work in progress on others but it's only his first day! Like having a new baby again. How's everyone else doing?

Oh I love all these puppies so much! We have a 17 week old Cavalier and he is getting rather challenging. We have been consistent but (like any "toddler") he is pushing boundaries.

Today though we seem to be making some headway. Walking is still very difficult but I forget how young he is. Any tips and tricks gratefully received!

We're booked in for puppy training classes starting a week on Sunday - I'm going along with dd2. Tibby will be 13 weeks then. Anyone else doing this?

sunshinehitme · 22/08/2016 13:18

This is our Barney, now 14 weeks old. Doing brilliantly walking on his lead and his recall is fantastic, he won 1st prize in the Best Puppy category at a local dog show a couple of weeks ago. We ha a very very nippy period but that seems to have almost disappeared in the last week. Sleeps in his crate all night, toilet training going ok, makes it outside most of the time! There are lots of lovely pups on this thread!

Here's my 'lovely boy' Hmm
Just took this after I popped to the loo. Only took a couple of minutes for it to happen. If you look carefully you can see him under the green Acer. He's not there hiding either, just in the middle of a few zooms around the garden.
Now I wish I'd had a tumble dryer installed in our kitchen!

weegiemum · 25/08/2016 19:20

Tibby ate half a bag of wotsits how were they in the house i never eat crisps today. He's been hyper! But a walk to the shops and back and not he's flat out on his back in his crate without being put there!

TwiggyTwiglet · 28/08/2016 18:24

I just posted my own thread but thought I'd pop in here too. Picked up my gorgeous little lurcher pup today. Her name is Twiglet as she's such a scrawny little thing. I was told she's ten weeks but she's definitely younger. I'd be surprised if she's even 6 weeks. So tiny, but oh so sweet.

Can I join?

We bought our puppy yesterday. 10 week old Miniature schnauzer called Bertie. I am visiting him on Friday then taking him home next Wednesday. I can't wait. Must admit I'm a bit nervous. Need to do a shopping list of things I need to get for him this weekend. Here he is..

We've had our puppy for a week now. He's a Jack Russell. He cried so much in his crate the first night that I had to put it in my room.Every night since then he has been ok, until last night when he cried and whined for about 40 mins before I gave in and bought the crate upstairs.
He's asleep on the floor now, so I'm just going to try and stealthily pop him in the crate and sneak to bed.
Toilet training not going well at all-we think we are getting somewhere then he just wees everywhere.he's also a big chewer-he certainly likes a shoe! he's lovely though Smile

Hanspannerly · 31/08/2016 21:03

Awww- cute! Well milo had a great night- bit of whining for 5 minutes and then quiet until I let him out at 2.30 and then 6. Today there have been no accidents in the house and I let him sit with me in the living room for 15 minutes whilst I watched bake off 😍

mumoftwo1975 · 31/08/2016 23:38

Stanley enjoying his first walk with us last week. (13 and half weeks old now) He's done miles since! Took him to slimming world with us on Monday, he slept through the whole session, Tuesday he went to puppy class and wowed everyone with his recall but was scared of the snappy small Portuguese pedango he met, and today had a full day out in a local town and park enjoying lots of new smells, people and sounds including resting under the table for lunch.

He's doing really well, sleeping straight away in his crate in the kitchen overnight (first night 15 mins barking reducing to none the last week) travelling beautifully in the car in his crate in the boot. All going well so far. Trying clicker training which is good but need too many hands sometimes. Mischievous too tho stealing my washing bag (giant yellow ikea) and taking to his bed or any dropped tissues!

How is everyone else doing?
