Should I reopen the happy place cafe?

I'm often awake in the night, today was a lie in for me, only properly awake since 4am.

In lockdown I opened, 'the happy place café where I would make virtual breakfasts and people would come to chat.

When it was last opened my French pastry chef Florence had married Fernando the cocktail waiter.

The kitten bees are inside because it is too old but the bumble cats are in the garden as usual.

SO should I reopen or was just something for lockdown?

I get police helicopters over my home a few times a month it sounds like they are going to land on the roof sometimes !

-> dashes in grabs the last of the egg and toast and a coffee and dashes back out again ->

--> Dashes back to lock the door and put the key in its safe place ->

Sweetpea1532 · 20/02/2023 16:37

@ScottBakula You sure are doing a lot of dashing today😅

ScottBakula · 20/02/2023 17:25

I am all dashed out now , I am in work for another half hr then I am ambling home.

cassiatwenty · 20/02/2023 23:32

O hello @Sweetpea1532 and @ScottBakula , a bit late, stayed up playing games on my mobile and now watching a doco about Victorian Super Food 🍾

Is this place open? Spring seems to be here early this year, perhaps then matcha latte and maple syrup pancakes

Wot is this? Fernando asleep...? It's not a murder mystery, is it? 🤓

Scottishskifun · 21/02/2023 02:29

BeautifulDayintheneighbourhood · 21/02/2023 02:31

Awake again. Not sure what I want. A chat?

sashh · 21/02/2023 04:33

@Scottishskifun

What a coincidence I'm doing Turkish breakfast today.

Coffee - very strong with a coffee foam, eggs boiled and baked, cheese, olives, bread, olive spread, hazelnut spread, cured meats, tomatoes and cucumber.

ScottBakula · 21/02/2023 06:55

Good morning all , please can i have a Turkish coffee and cured meat .

Piemam · 22/02/2023 02:51

Hope everyone is alright in the café. Please can I have a coffee in the comfy armchair by the window? Thank you.

sashh · 22/02/2023 03:22

Morning all.

It's a little more like spring today so I've got the outdoor heaters on, I'll get the kitten bees to 'deliver' some treats outside, but nothing too heavy, pastries are about their limit and they probably will have a nibble but it's worth it for the sight.

Today's special is eggs.

Benedict, coddled, scrambled, fried, Florence maybe making soufflés so put your orders in.

Piemam · 22/02/2023 03:27

A plate of eggs and buttered toast sounds wonderfully comforting. I might even venture outside rather than peer through this window! I hope the kittenbees are feeling strong.

BouleBaker · 22/02/2023 03:32

Ooooh eggs benedict would be lovely with a strong coffee. I'll sit in this comfy chair in the window and watch the kitten bees go past.

sashh · 22/02/2023 04:14

The kitten bees are just glad to go out, they get quite excited.

Piemam · 22/02/2023 04:18

@sashh Sounds like me after my coffee! Thank you for that, felt restorative and watching warming. Going to stay a little longer and watch the world go by.

Piemam · 22/02/2023 04:19

Watching mistakenly added there!

ScottBakula · 22/02/2023 05:13

Morning all , ooh please can I have poached eggs on toast and a coffee.

Did someone leave a bit of hot chocolate with brandy in their cup?, one of them kitten bees seems to be flying a bit wobbly

MinnieMountain · 22/02/2023 05:24

Morning
Could Florence make me a raspberry soufflé please?
I'll take my coffee outside whilst I’m waiting.

sashh · 22/02/2023 06:34

One soufflé on it's way.

I may be a while with the eggs, it appears I have a slightly drunk kitten bee trying to fly upside down.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 22/02/2023 06:41

Lol , the image of kitten bees always makes me smile , the image of one trying to fly upside-down proper tickled me .
I will have marmite on toast if the KB is to intoxicated to fly. ( just frizzbe it over this way )

ScottBakula · 23/02/2023 05:04

Good morning
It's kinda quiet round here , where is everyone ?

Hmm I think I will have porridge for breakfast, I will make a big pan full so anyone can help themselves to it.
I also have a big jar of homemade ginger syrup. It's great on porridge, yoghurt, hot chocolate, stir fries, pancakes and loads cakes , help yourself .
Please remember to put the lid back on or the kitten bees will try eating it and get their fur all sticky.

sashh · 23/02/2023 05:28

Morning.

Lovely porridge.

I'm going to do fish today.

I know it wounds crazy but fish for breakfast is not that unusual.

So Kedgeree, kippers, smoked salmon (with eggs of course) Japanese grilled fish and prawn nasi goreng.

MyOtherProfile · 23/02/2023 05:51

I love fish for breakfast so count me in! Actually I love fish for lunch and dinner too 😆

My sleep has been better so not been popping in but last night I fell asleep with the radio on so had a disturbed night and here I am!

MinnieMountain · 23/02/2023 06:01

Ohh, kedgeree please. I’ve never had it for breakfast but my Anglo-Indian granny used to make an excellent one.

ProperVexed · 23/02/2023 06:43

Please may I have smoked salmon with a poached egg ( is that eggs Benedict?)
And coffee, black and strong.
I'm wfh today so have an extra half hour to spare.

sashh · 23/02/2023 06:43

@MinnieMountain Do you have her recipe? Or was it like my Nana's fruit cake, she never wrote it down or taught anyone and no one has been able to replicate it.
