I’ve been listening to Will & Ralf Little’s podcast and if he’s like he is on there he’ll come across as very likeable and funny.
I can’t wait to see what Ralf has to say about his dances. 😂

At least the ghastly chef from this morning clodagh McKenna isn't doing it, she's always showing off and dancing around the kitchen I thought she'd be a front runner to be asked.

I can't stand her. She has been on Sunday Brunch quite a lot and I have to turn off when she is on.

I thought Rev Kate Botley might be on as she is always dancing around her studio according to Jason Mohammed!

Rev Kate Botley is more annoying than Helen Skelton so thank goodness we've been saved that.

MrsJamin. I don't think it can be said that Helen Skelton speaks normally!! Her voice is particularly grating - not all Northern speech is the same. I don't cringe upon hearing Ant or Dec..........................................

It surely won't matter, look at AJ last year or Gemma's "ded normal lass" shtick. Loved AJ initially thinking her voice would grate. You will like them as contestants or you won't. Jane Horrocks's voice used to wind me up but I love her in Bloods. (Amazed she has never done strictly). Whereas thought I would love Caroline Quentin and Jason Donovan, but both annoyed me a little.

That is what fast forward buttons are for. I’m not a fan but I would like to see her flourish (just not win as I want that to be Will).

CQ was going to be my favourite but she spoiled it all with the chat about her husband.

It just seemed to be all Conrad Knight Socks (alan partridge reference).

And the luvviedarlingness. I just didn’t expect that.

Shame really.

Talking of CQ, I read something she wrote in a magazine recently where she was genuinely expressing surprise that she hadn't stayed in longer 'given her dance background' 🤔🤔. She must be very lacking in awareness of how she came across (and have an inflated opinion of her dance ability!)

She certainly sounds "confident" in herself!

Kai is my favourite but he has 1 of those old faces, even when he was on Britains Got Talent 10 years ago he looked the age he is now, 26.
I'm older than his Dad!

I think he might get paired with Ritchie Anderson this year because he did the same sex dance with Brian Dowling in Ireland's Dancing with the stars.

I have children older than Kai . Bless him he looks middle aged .

Please can we be kind to Helen Skelton. She must be so vulnerable right now with her b*ard of a husband going off with someone else, only a few months after they had had their third child.
I hope she conquers Strictly and the tv audience, get out there girl and show Richie just what he’s missing!

Come on mumsnetters, Helen is just the type of female we support with their lives!

TBH, I think we should be "kind" to people regardless when they've done nothing to deserve otherwise.

Anna you need to tell that to the producers, who appear to want a "we've - been-cheated-on-by-our-partners-and-are-the-same-age-so-why-not" showmance/retrieval of mojo story arc by potentially pairing her with... Neil.
Seriously though, she was high up in favourites to win so won't need and shouldn't get a pity vote, that's patronising as. I have already said on here that, even if her voice annoys some, AJ did phenomenally and there was the same criticism there. Helen will be fine, although I couldn't have done it at 7 months postpartum due to milk patches on dress. She is a shoo-in for winning Babywarz and doubt she will be an early boot.

Absolutely no mention of a pity vote, of course not. Just some support and less criticism.

As said, I’m not a fan. She might win me over with her dancing. She might not.

But I’m not going to support someone on Strictly just because I am on MN and she is a woman going through a public break up.

I daresay a lot of contestants will have their own baggage to carry about. What about their troubles?

An entreaty to be kind is all very well but folk are allowed opinions.

What has happened to her doesn’t define her. She is a woman doing well for herself despite recent events and she will likely continue to do well - strictly or not.

Still shudder when I remember her licking poor Johannes! 😱
