Strictly 2022 Sequins at the Ready!

Starting a new thread as can't seem to find one yet, and suddenly feeling very aware that we are likely only days away from line up announcements!

Who do we all think will be on the line up this year? I thought last year was one of the best line ups, a good mix.

Rumours so far include Gino D'Campo, Scarlett Moffat, Steph McGovern, Dawn French..

The first announcements last year were on Wednesday 4th August, so hopefully the same again this year..

These shows do attract people that are trying to revive their careers somewhat, it's always been the case. Who did you have in mind? 😂

It’s the same every year- folk no one has ever heard of - 5 weeks in you know everything about their personality / dance ability/ families and are voting like billyo.
I had never heard of Rose last year and look how that turned out.

That's why Bill Bailey was able to do it during covid, because his tours were cancelled. You have to have people free September to possibly December.

I think it's a pretty good lineup so far. Nobody who makes me think "wow that's an amazing signing" like Ed Balls or Bill Bailey (or people who seemed exciting but ended up more of a damp squib like Emma Bunton or Jerry Hall), but I'm looking forward to seeing both the Ellies, Jayde, Will and Matt. 5 out of 9 so far is a better hit rate than most years.

But you were either a Wham! or Duran Duran fan (I was a Wham! fan though I did like some Duran Duran songs) or you were a Brosette - but slightly later on I think they were than Wham! or Duran Duran.

Ellie Taylor on a Comic Relief thing. Lucky for her it's not Strictly Come Singing. But Vicky Gill will be rubbing her hands in glee at the chance to dress someone who's that shape.

Which is why I don't think the rumours about Helen Skelton are correct. She does a lot of rugby league presenting and the world cup is in England in the Autumn.

So far, I only haven’t heard of Jayde (tho has she been on House of Games and I’ve forgotten? That’s where I know Richie from) and Tyler. Not bad for me!

I had assumed Gork with Ellie S but he could be pipped to the post by Carlos, *if he is the shortest but I suspect Internet is wrong again. I hadn't considered it until now, but pairing Ellie with Jowita could be a great pairing (girls dance together in competition all the time).
