I think the dirtiness and untidiness of the house reflected the mothers state of mind.. I dont think its as simple as that she was too lazy or whatever just by nature.

I usually love this program but this one I struggled with.

Firstly the 'rich' family hadnt got any clue about what is was like for the 'poor' family. It seemed like they really were removed from the situation completely.

I personaly think the 'poor' family had more problems than money could sort out. The dad clearly had some kind of 'learning difficulty' (wrong term, couldnt think of the right one) and the mother was depressed and hadnt just lost her way like the mothers usually have on this series but her whole lifestyle was just destructive. I mean, why did they have 5 children...??

I think they needed professional help rather than a naive rich family throwing money at them.

its the only episode that i have seen with a dad around,even though didnt always live there

but yes sure tv edits the best and worst or people wouldnt watch it
