TBH, I've never seen this.

Is it like Wife Swap?

I make my 6 and 4 year olds tidy their rooms.

There is no way I'd let cameras into my house if it looked like that.

She's got a 2 bed house in London with a garden.

Sorry, but I agree with the chap.

I agree to a point with the rich guy. Its just the way it comes across.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:32

a) some of those people are well old enough to help tidy

b) get rid of all that shite and clutter

That goes a long way.

Again, a good friend lives in a similar house with 5 kids.

They knew they would not get a bigger house.

They have a bunk bed with a double bed on bottom for the girls and a regular one for the boys.

You could eat off the floors in there.

As my dad said, 'Soap and bleach are cheap and elbow grease is free.'

i totally agree with the rich man, why help them if they can't even look after what they have?

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:33

the two gardens next to them looked fine.

those are HA tenants, too.

RunawayWife · 13/05/2010 21:34

I think if the mum did a couple of hours cleaning a day and chucked out all the rubbish it would help.

Those kids seem to have a lot of toys and clothes all over the place, and that poor little boy had no school shoes

chubbasmum · 13/05/2010 21:34

did i hear right they have decided not to support the poor family ????????? dangling a carrot in someone`s face its not all about money its about proper guidance the parents need not sounding patronising contraception.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:35

I mean, £2000! That's a fortune!

'did i hear right they have decided not to support the poor family ????????? '

No, not at all.

thelunar66 · 13/05/2010 21:36

Did they think the posh family would just buy them a new big house then?

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:37

They gave them paint and stuff to fix it up.

Sounds fair to me.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:39

Couldn't they look at a swap?

OP posts:
RunawayWife · 13/05/2010 21:39

DH1 is a builder and his boss owns a lot of property that is let out to the HA, DH1 often has to repair and replace doors, windows and carpets, kitchen appliances and so on, some people live like animals

MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 13/05/2010 21:40

They could buy one as an investment and get HB to pay the mortgage.

poshtottie · 13/05/2010 21:40

They need more bedrooms though don't they.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:40

Why hasn't she bunked up the kids?

Seriously, lots of people do it!

OP posts:
GFatemybaby · 13/05/2010 21:40

Oh baby with ribena in a bottle.

Face imploding with pursed lips.

thelunar66 · 13/05/2010 21:41

they are NOT overcrowded! what?

What does it take to be classed as overcrowded?

RunawayWife · 13/05/2010 21:41

How on earth can anyone say that is NOT over crowded???? Madness

noddyholder · 13/05/2010 21:41

I think the poor family are wanting a whole life change from this which may not happen! The rich family sound a bit controlling but the other family are hinting heavily about what they want.these programmes are dreadful

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:41

'They need more bedrooms though don't they. '

Ideally.

But there aren't any in the London area.

OP posts:
MiladyDeWinterOfDiscontent · 13/05/2010 21:41

It might have been Heinz baby juice, that stuff is hugely expensive!

GFatemybaby · 13/05/2010 21:42

HUH?? Double the crime then!

Rollergirl1 · 13/05/2010 21:42

I'm sorry but this doesn't sit well with me. It seems like the rich family are making them jump through hoops for their money. I know what you're saying about the cleanliness, but she has 5 kids to deal with!

expatinscotland · 13/05/2010 21:42

this is the type of help they need though, getting a swap, getting the child assessed.

she needs to stop making excuses, too.
