This is my favourite TV series ever! I have the box sets and last summer watched them all again and it was fab. And although I'm watching the Vampyre Diaries and really enjoying them - though it is just Dawson's Creek with fangs - it is just not the same as Buffy.
And for any BTVS fans what is your favourite episode.
Mine is a tie between Passions - I loved Angel when he went bad and the singing one - can't remember the episode title.

His my obsession from being human!

Snooks14 · 18/04/2010 00:41

Sorry not watching it - at the moment my best vampire kicks are Damien from Vampyre Diaries and Eric from True Blood. Not keen on Bill - thin he is a bit of a woose!

Snooks - Its ok, Mitchell the Vampire is in Being Human, not Buffy.

I have also seen Spike in the flesh. We saw him at The Cavern Club when he was performing with his band. He is a cool guy.

I really wouldn't be able to choose a favourite between Hush and Once More with Feeling. They were the best eps ever. My daughter is 4, nearly 5 and I cannot wait until she is old enough to watch Buffy!

Buffy dvd box set was £50 on amazon recently, which cried out to me to purchase...reduced from £180!! Lots of extras and Joss commentary which is great as he is a bit of a hero. As for eps....apart from Hush & OMWF, I loved when Angel went bad esp Passions, Band Candy, Spike & Buffy and the finale of final season. 'Twas genius TV and thank god for Vampire Diaries for filling in a bit of the hole it left. Oh, and have never moved on from the Angel episode when Buffy comes back and he gets a shot at being mortal. Cried for ages.

Loved Buffy and Angel.

juneybean · 19/04/2010 16:40

Darla?

LetThereBeRock · 19/04/2010 19:22

I love BTVS not quite as much as I love Angel but almost.

Spike was most definitely the best character in BTVS.

DroosieCat · 19/04/2010 19:28

Ha! I am sad enough to have the Buffy Top Trumps cards too. Yes The Gentlemen are terrifying.....

Love Buffy

pinkteddy · 19/04/2010 20:36

JimJarrmum, was bad candy the one where Giles and Joyce went back to their youth? That was really funny.
£50 for 7 seasons? That is a bargain - snap it up!! Hours of fun.

AvadaKedavra · 19/04/2010 20:41

Is anyone re-watching BTVS on FX at weekends? If so are you missing episodes?!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/04/2010 20:44

I love buffy.
By far the most superior vampire series.

I love that episode where they are all in the magic shop and they lose their memories.
Hilarious!
Also love "once more with feeling" My sister has the sheet music on it lol.

My sister buys off the internet the comics. I think they are done by Joss Whedon (sp? Gah I call myself a fan...)
Yeah anyway the comics carry on where the series left off. She says they are very good.

My three favourite vampires

1 Spike
2 Eric
3 Damon

I'll have them in that order thank you please.

Fitzy72 · 19/04/2010 20:46

Buffy alive and well in my chickens;
Cordelia
Spike
Angel and
Anya
(Willow RIP)
!!!!!

juneybean · 19/04/2010 20:48

Tabula Rasa, tis the one follow OMWF.

So funny!

Spike: I saw you! Sleeping together.
Giles: Resting together.

LetThereBeRock · 19/04/2010 20:53

Possibly the best quote(s) ever.

'Spike: [as Rachel] How can I thank you, you mysterious black-clad hunk of a night thing?
Spike: [as Angel] No need, little lady, your tears of gratitude are enough for me. You see, I was once a badass vampire, but love and a pesky curse defanged me. And now, I'm just a big, fluffy puppy with bad teeth. No, not the hair. Never the hair.
Spike: [as Rachel] But there must be some way I can show my appreciation?
Spike: [as Angel] No, helping those in need's my job, and workin' up a load of sexual tension and prancing away like a magnificent poof is truly thanks enough.
Spike: [as Rachel] I understand. I have a nephew who's gay, so...
[gasps]
Spike: [as Angel] Say no more. Evil's still afoot. And I'm almost out of that nancy-boy hair-gel I like so much. Quickly, to the Angel-mobile, away.'

notcitrus · 19/04/2010 20:55

hell yes - though I don't like the comics; I can't tell which character is which!

The last 2 series went downhill a bit (drugs, sorry, magic is bad, mm'kay?) but the wonderful OMWF made up for that. Being Human is getting as good in a very British way and True Blood is getting there on the eye-candy front - so obviously the two need a crossover episode...

Saw James Marsters in his band at the Scala once. I drooled. Most of the audience were under 12 so short and we got a fantastic view...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/04/2010 21:01

Hahaha best quote from buffy.

Buffy: Spike what are you doing here? In 5 words.

Spike: Out. For. A. Walk. Bitch.

uglymugly · 19/04/2010 21:03

I didn't watch Buffy for years, mostly because it was obviously a kids programme given what time of day it was broadcast...

But then my daughter showed me the episode with The Gentlemen (because she thought I'd find it deliciously creepy - yep), and immediately afterwards that episode - I can't remember the title but it was where the school play goes horribly wrong and there are lots of red curtains, which she thought I'd appreciate because of the Twin Peaks connection.

I was immediately hooked and I caught up and I've watched every episode, and consider myself a Buffy fan even if I can't remember episode titles.

"Once More With Feeling" - I've got that on my iPod.

Good grief, I'm old enough to be everybody's granny - I might have creaky knees but I know an excellent TV show when I see one. (Polishes spectacles.)

Of course, this post will be the thread-killer.

WhereYouLeftIt · 19/04/2010 21:04

Aah, Buffy ... the first season was on when I was at home on maternity leave. Got completely addicted, watching video'ed episodes over and over, trying to avoid the brain death that is daytime TV (DS was a very slow feeder).

Don't know which season or the name of the episode, but the one where she's in a mental institution and her mother's desperately trying to explain that being The Slayer is a fantasy she withdraws into and it's not real. Episode fades with Buffy sitting in the corner of a ?padded cell?, looking vacant whilst the doctor says 'we've lost her completely now'.

And the episodes with Bad Willow. 'Bored now ...' .

twolittlemonkeys · 19/04/2010 21:08

DH and I love Buffy! Yes, we miss it. Love the musical episode, I have the soundtrack and the script complete with sheet music [saddo emoticon]

LetThereBeRock · 19/04/2010 21:11

I'll have to get the boxset. I only have series 3,6 and 7 of BTVS.

Nemain · 19/04/2010 21:22

I adored Buffy. I was the first person of all those I know to discover it. Everyone took the piss that I loved some Vampire Slayer programme.

Then they all saw it and loved it too!

My fave eps are:

Hush
The Body.

I sobbed at The Body. And that the episode had no music at all was a testament to the actors, writers and director.

I miss it

Nemain · 19/04/2010 21:25

Whereyouleftit - That ep was called Normal Again.

And yes, was excellent

MrsFlittersnoop · 19/04/2010 21:28

DS and I have just finished reading the first 6 volumes of the Season 8 comics and are now rationing ourselves to 1 per day, along with our nightly "Angel" fix. Poor Doyle has just been killed by the Scourge!

DS was rather peed off with what he regarded as the insultingly obvious Nazi-Jew allegory in that episode - he isn't enjoying the series nearly as as much as BTVS.

Anthony Head is one of our "local heroes" BTW - I often seen him at our train station coming back from London.

DH is a shocking Sleb Whore, and came home all a-quiver with excitement recently after seeing AH buying some cheese in our local Co-Op! .
