I think it's good that we all home in on the central plot point of the off-screen birthday cake. It's details like this which make me uneasy about our ability to win the War on Terror.

It did rather stand out, though, interrupted my willing suspension of disbelief which they are usually jolly good at keeping going. (Mind you, I didn't let go of dh's hand, couldn't bear the threat to a child.)

Can we just spare a thought for Zaf though? What has happened to him? He was kidnapped and nothing more has been heard - surely Mistresses isn't keeping him so occupied that he couldn't be found after all this time. After all wasn't Lucas held in Russia for 10 (?) years before reappearing?
