eyeliner - can type, but just not today it would seem

bigcar · 05/11/2009 09:44

oooh, I did enjoy it last night! Can't believe they got rid of Malcolm although I did have a chuckle when Ruths husband told him the boy was only 10.

alana39 · 05/11/2009 09:50

I think I am in love with Harry. Is that wrong, or just hormones and boredom being a week overdue?

Ace was brilliant in Cardiac Arrest, have never seen that repeated though (he is obviously now being typecast though as I think the last time I saw him was when DH made me watch when he was a terrorist in Ultimate Force).

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 05/11/2009 10:50

Harry is so wonderfully honourable. Most of us would have given up the uranium in the hope of a shag, let's face it.

Did you ever see him in 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' as Angel? He was all golden ringlets and baby skin.

edam · 05/11/2009 11:01

Harry? Blimey. Or Ace - equally blimey!

That speech by Ruth's husband saying the boy was ten and 'last year he had a train cake with chocolate finger sleepers for his birthday' really jarred, though. I don't know any 10yos who would want that kind of cake!

Would have to have Tom, too, he has such soulful eyes...

abra1d · 05/11/2009 11:37

Yeah, TOM!! Let's have him back. I liked him.
Though he is a little portly these days.

abra1d · 05/11/2009 11:39

Yes, I smirked at the stepson having that kind of cake aged ten. They should have checked with us first. ;)

BonfiresOfInsanity · 05/11/2009 11:43

Agree abra, I thought my 5yo wouldn't want that!

abra1d · 05/11/2009 11:45

Will Ruth re-enter the grid as a player again or is she now so angry with Harry and traumatised, etc? Or compromised?

edam · 05/11/2009 11:46

My 6yo would have been very embarrassed at a cake like that. Don't any of the scriptwriters or editors or directors or anyone have kids?

edam · 05/11/2009 11:47

I think she may crop up in a future episode... (Hope so, anyway.) Wasn't Harry a bastard? Yeah yeah, I know the greatest good of the greatest number and all that, but still...

abra1d · 05/11/2009 11:47

I think it's good that we all home in on the central plot point of the off-screen birthday cake. It's details like this which make me uneasy about our ability to win the War on Terror.

edam · 05/11/2009 11:49

It did rather stand out, though, interrupted my willing suspension of disbelief which they are usually jolly good at keeping going. (Mind you, I didn't let go of dh's hand, couldn't bear the threat to a child.)

bronze · 05/11/2009 11:52

who jumped when they were talking and he got shot? I loved the way Ros just sat there with blood on her face

Sunshinemummy · 05/11/2009 11:54

It was fab wasn't it? Can't wait for next week and am disappointed they're not showing the next episode on Beeb 3 straight after this year.

Can we just spare a thought for Zaf though? What has happened to him? He was kidnapped and nothing more has been heard - surely Mistresses isn't keeping him so occupied that he couldn't be found after all this time. After all wasn't Lucas held in Russia for 10 (?) years before reappearing?

Agree Jo is definitely going to die this series. She's slowly cracking up.

bronze · 05/11/2009 11:59

I thought Zaf was dead

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 05/11/2009 11:59

Zaf's dead, baby. Zaf's dead.

He was tortured to death.

Raza Jaffrey (poor, dead Zaf) is serioiusly, seriously gorgeous. The rest of you can have Adam and Lucas!

BonfiresOfInsanity · 05/11/2009 12:00

The look on Ros' face was perfect! Covered in blood splats and sat there with a FFS face on instead of a ' OMG he's been shot arrrrggghh' face

abra1d · 05/11/2009 12:02

Yes, she wouldn't want nasty blood spots on her lovely leather jacket.

I heart Ros. So nice to have a hard, mean woman who's good at the same time, IYKWIM. She's funny, too.

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 05/11/2009 12:02

She is well hard and makes me feel proud to be British.

BonfiresOfInsanity · 05/11/2009 12:05

LOL at you two, she is well ard though.

BonfiresOfInsanity · 05/11/2009 12:05

and I don't mean that dog off Eastenders!

Sunshinemummy · 05/11/2009 12:07

They never found a body though did they? I don't think Zaf is really dead.
