I thought Esther was funny, don't think she was being entirely serious about hiring a pa

VictoriousSponge · 21/10/2009 16:40

will they bin him when he gets ugly?

pinkannie · 21/10/2009 16:57

In defence to Esther (I actually know her quite well in real life), she is a really nice lady. Yes, she is a little crazy and larger than life but she lives for her children. Nothing else. You can't help be charmed by her when you get to know her....

jamierocky · 21/10/2009 17:02

Hi everyone this is Jamie, Frankie's other parent! Thankyou all for your comments even the unpleasant ones! The show was just for fun and was a wonderful experience to make!It was a snapshot of Frankie at that special age. The documentary was the starting block for his short career! Frankie was declined by lots of agencies, so have many of our friends babies. It makes you feel really sad; it turns out that a lot of these agencies just pick 5 babies with dark hair and dark eyes etc and thats it. By the way it is Frankie in the Boden catalogue not Hadley. You can see Frankie on the SMA Formula milk advert on television at the moment. Take care Jamie!

ah
vanity google
always risky

ruddynorah · 21/10/2009 18:41

lol at vanity google!

well jamie yes i muddled up the names of the babies. your frankie is indeed gorgeous. interesting you've pointed out frankie's in an SMA advert, not sure that'll go down well on here. how old was he at the time of filming?

Housemum · 21/10/2009 19:08

I'll leap to the defence of SMA - my DD3 is on the tins of toddler milk (well done Frankie on getting a TV commercial!) - before we got the job we had to show them her birth certificate as they know they cannot market to babies under 6 months, and for the job we did we had to prove she was over one. (Made me smile that she had been BF for 11 months though!)

All the babies were beautiful. I think Frankie's parents had the right idea, it was just a bit of fun and I loved how all the extended family came round to celebrate. Esther was charmingly bonkers and had a lovely figure for a mum of 4/5? What came across most strongly for me was how totally devoted to/besotted by their dcs (whether they were the pfb or no 5) and how much calculation goes into those photos.

MacaroonIncident · 21/10/2009 19:45

god they were obesessed.
I knew of a kid who won" most beautiful preschooler" of whatever prize and although was good looking was a PAIN Int eh arse to teach

sweetkitty · 21/10/2009 21:46

hi jamierocky welcome to MN, Frankie is gorgeous, can I ask what age is he now (i.e when was the documentary made) and is he still getting a lot of work?

Personally I think why not allow your kids to do some modelling, it's not like any of the parents were dragging them all over London for auditions and having them work 14 hour days.

I was watching the programme thinking of my photoshoot with a photographer with DD3 the other day, a complete waste of time she ran away and bawled every time he tried to take a pic of her (she's 15 months) no chance of her being a model, she is utterly beautiful of course but does not have the temperament, although maybe she is practising for the paps in later life

MrsCurly · 22/10/2009 10:49

I thought Frankie was completely gorgeous. And clearly so very loved by all his family.

Congratulations JamieRocky. You must be feeling quite exposed at the moment. Brave of you to come on here and write.

cheerfulvicky · 22/10/2009 11:15

I also thought Esther was quite nice, although rather full on. And I KNEW I'd seen one of those babies somewhere, it was the Boden catalogue.

DP is a bit like both parts of the lesbian couple in one person. He is convinced that his son is the most attractive child on the planet, and I just thank my lucky stars we are down in Cornwall so he can't go all loony about signing him up for agencies.
Anyway, as I've always said to him, it's not enough to have a cute baby, they have to be outgoing and cheerful and good with strange people. Surprisingly, Cheerfulbaby is not always as sunny as the babies in the program and I don't think his modelling career would have been a very long one. Heh.

I actually thought all the families featured in this were quite nice people. Some of the OTHER parents at casting and stuff, were seriously creepy!

mwahahahamwahahahallyroger · 24/10/2009 15:39

I'm sure I've met Esther, or someone just like her. I can't help admiring someone who still has so much energy and enthusiasm for parenting after five children And I reckon she still probably only gets around 3 hours of sleep a night after what, nine years of parenting? I'd be a bit manic and hyper too....

havefun · 26/10/2009 23:36

In common with all the stars Hadley is names after the location where he was concieved. Hadley Wood.

Ledodgy · 26/10/2009 23:41

Frankie was on one of the Boden ads to the right of my screen on here the other day. Gorgeous!

Esther is a bit manic isn't she? but I think I would be with five children!

Ledodgy · 26/10/2009 23:43

I would be a bit peeved though if I was that model who brought her own baby in then Hadley got picked for her to hold on the mag because the magazine said they looked better together!
