Big brother my arse. When is channel 4 going to get its head out its proverbial and use its money to make something decent to watch? When you say? When those who watch the likes of Big Brother and other "reality" tv shows, stop watching them. They are cheap to make, appeal to the lowest common denominator of intelligence and also to many of our voyeuristic tendencies, in my opinion.

I would rather watch heartbeat than big brother and that is saying something. Fortunately i dont watch much tv, but i know plenty who are tuning in to this mindless drivel tonight and it makes my heart ache that they will be wasting so many weeks getting excited over NOTHING. The majority of tv is crap, but this show is top of the crap heap. Dosent say much for those who watch it either.

omg, here we go another thread having a go at each other for something that has no bearing on real life!
as spod said, sometimes you just want to watch mindless drivel on tv, after a long day at work, uni etc. something that you can watch without thinking about it.

Yes I think it's a complete pile of drivel, and for 'escapism' there's much more interesting stuff to 'escape' into on TV...........BUT saying that people are either intelligent or stupid, and that those who watch BB are stupid is taking it TOO FAR IMO.

Like big brother and other programs, MN is taken far too seriously. I have my opinion and you have yours. I dont have to like your opinion and you dont have to like mine. I would prefer if you didnt cat call me however. Now that is rude.

mamadada blahblah...talking a3rse as usual. bb is as interesting as the people on it. the reason that reality tv is interesting is that people are interesting whether in a lord of the flies way or in a way that makes us feel that perhaps even these celebrity obsessed freaks are real people with feelings...sometimes the people are interesting and the dynamics worth watching...sometimes it is a pile of old toss that is boring...frankly generalising about it's viewers is like generalising about humanity itself...

I think if you read this thread carefully you'll see that there are others of us who can't STAND the programme and have never watched more than 10-15 minutes from ALL the series - but they still think you're OTT ./..
