Channel 4 on Friday

Sometimes when I look back over what I have typed, I wonder if I was even looking at the at all

Wilts · 03/10/2009 13:46

Arrrgghhhh

looking at the screen at all

Bigmouthstrikesagain · 03/10/2009 14:17

Wilts I knew what you meant thank you for answering.

TheMysticMasseuse · 04/10/2009 13:41

now sorry for butting in, but i have a question for you TB aficionados- is it the sort of thing that'll give me nightmares? i really, really want to watch it but dh away all weeknights for 3 months and i don't want to end up not being able to sleep

thanks

Wilts · 04/10/2009 13:46

Hmm It is quite violent and gory but not nightmare inducing in my opinion.

I am not normally into this sort of thing at all and Dh is very surprised I am watching it.
( can't watch torture scenes in the Tudors for example )

I think what does it for me is that there is a lot of humour in it as well.

wintera · 04/10/2009 14:00

I just wanted to point out that True Blood starts on channel 4 on Wednesday and not Friday! Don't want anyone to miss it!

JulesJules · 04/10/2009 14:23

I don't think it will give you nightmares. I am a serious wimp when it comes to horror films (had to sleep with the light on for weeks after seeing Angel Heart at the cinema, for example). TB has never given me nightmares.

It is gory, sexy, funny, overblown in a camp Southern Gothic way and I am totally bereft now it has finished on FX. When are we going to get series 2? I bet it's not until next year. Bloody Hell.

Wilts · 04/10/2009 14:28

I was hoping they were going to show season 2 straight after as it is already showing in America, but no sign of it, so we have downloaded it.

I am so impatient we started watching season 2 on Friday straight after the final episode .

I don't know how I am going to manage waiting for season 3 , Trueblood has become the highlight of my week

wintera · 04/10/2009 17:50

I have just pre-ordered the dvd of season 1 on Play, but it doesn't bloody come out till the 26th October!

Where can I watch season 2 online then Wilts? Any recommendations?

Have any of you also read the books? I am reading the first one at the moment and I am whizzing through it! It's really very good. Just ordered the second book now!

Bigmouthstrikesagain · 04/10/2009 18:50

I have become a TB fan in the last fortnight after a marathon session watching s1+2 now I am eagerly anticipating s3... Not very patiently.

I have asked dh to get me the books for Xmas.

Will probably watch it again on c4 on Mondays Fridays Wednesdays (thank you) anyway just for the craic.

Wilts · 04/10/2009 19:24

Wintera- We downloaded season 2 from mini nova. I have no idea about these things, Dh has does it all but it didn't take too long to get the whole season.

I might ask for the books for xmas,I can't justify the cost myself. I did try to get them from the library but they would have been all out of sequence.

Bigmouth- am that you have got through season 2 already.

wintera · 04/10/2009 19:48

I have read on the net that there is going to be quite a long wait until season 3 starts in the US. They are having a long break between seasons for some reason so I might not rush watching season 2 now. Otherwise I will watch all of season 2 and will be mega pissed off at having to wait ages for season 3! Apparently it's not due to air in the US until June 2010!

I might just read the books instead to keep me going!

Thanks for the tip though Wilts! If I cave in and watch season 2 at least I will know where to look for it!

JulesJules · 05/10/2009 10:15

They don't even start filming season 3 until December.

I would rather watch season 2 on big screen high definition, than downloaded, but how long will we have to wait??

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2009 11:28

finally watched last epidsode - awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww the things men do for love!!

had no idea who was the killer - didnt expect it to be who it was (without giving game away)

so when does series 2 come onto fx?

im having redrawel symptoms already

Wilts · 06/10/2009 11:34

On the digital spy forums they are saying the Fx have the rights to season 2, so can show it as soon as Channel 4 finish season 1. However, they seem to think it will be dragged out and shown in July .

Season 3 will already be showing on HBO by then, so I will have to download it, I love it and can't possibly wait

Wilts · 06/10/2009 11:49

Ohhh Alexander Skarsgard is in the Lady Gaga video papraazzi!

I am liking Eric more and more

wintera · 06/10/2009 20:17

Wilts - So it is! Hadn't realised until I read your post. I must have seen that video about 20 times recently too!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/10/2009 13:22

JULY? [SAD]

THATS months AWAY

TheFoosa · 08/10/2009 09:38

can someone tell me if it is safe & legal to download tv programmes from the net?

I really want to watch the next episode

serenity · 08/10/2009 09:44

It can be safe if you download from a reputable source and have a decent virus checker (I've never had a problem) but no, it's not legal (copyright issues)

Itunes gets episodes of programmes, True Blood's been out long enough in the US that they might have it on there.

serenity · 08/10/2009 09:50

They definitely got S1, and apparently were putting S2 on when it finished airing (which was a couple of weeks ago) I can't check though, as it won't let me into the Store without downloading Itunes first.

TheFoosa · 08/10/2009 09:54

sorry another stoopid question

can you download from itunes onto a pc, don't have an ipod

vampyrekisses · 08/10/2009 10:16

is this the thing that was on ch4 last nite that i kept thinking omg this is crap...but yet couldnt bring myself to switch off?

serenity · 08/10/2009 11:06

I think so. You just have to download the ITunes programme onto your PC.

The books are fab btw. I read them before I saw the show. The storyline isn't quite the same but this is one of the first times I haven't been cross over it. Books are good, show is good, both in different ways.

I'm quite excited by S3, can't wait

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2009 14:52

crap?

WASH your mouth out

true blood is FANTASTIC
