Last night they announced that they are going to separate It has been obvious for a while but still sad for them to confirm it.

Well, Kate has surpassed herself this time.

She's claiming that they've been living separate and apart lives for the last 2 years

Which either means the vow renewal (yes children, we live apart but will be together forever...), move into new home, tears about Jon's 'affair', etc were all fake

or

She'll be claiming to be the main carer (for custody purposes) and primary earner (to make sure she gets all the money their children have made so far).

But maybe she's just being pro-active. She will need some money to pay for the kid's therapy and for when they sue her right?!

Can't say I've ever watched these people on this show. I was in the US when they had their sextuplets. It was 'God's will'. No it wasn't. It was irresponsible. They already had twins and then went and had more IVF.

That's why I never felt the need to line their pockets by watching them and their fucked up lives.

Can't say I'm surprised. I've seen interviews with Kate and she shouldn't have been a mother at all, so controlling and freakish and money-grubbing.

She was admitted to hospital and they were told not to have sex due to ovary over stimulation. But they still did...

And they were only trying for a few months before they convinced a Dr to have IVF/IUI for the twins.

they paid a doctor to start it on them after just a few months of trying when they were relatively young and then paid him again and were irresponsible having a large number of embryos put back.

they basically did what OctoMom did, in fact, poor nutcase that she is, admits to copying them in an attempt to garner the same wealth and fame.

plenty of people conceive with PCOS. sometimes it may take a while and it's not like they were 40.

well yes, i know that (being a very proud aunty in law to two little ones whos mum has it) but i know it can hinder concieving.

I was watching it today, and she did admit, she didn't know why she rushed into having children so young.

Maybe she is a money hungry woman, and its clear now that they marriage wasn't the best, but the children are innocent in all this, and very adorable.

To minimise disruption, they have announced they are planning to leave the children in the new home, and each parent will rotate in and out according to whose turn it is to be with the children.

Latest rumour is that Jon has been looking at apartments in NYC.

Obviously not everything in their lives is for public consumption, but it doesn't appear that they had marriage guidance counselling.

And it also doesn't appear that they're going to let the cameras, and the money they bring, go either.

American tabloids say that Jon wants to quit the show, but Kate loves the spotlight, the notoriety, and the money (she's looking quite glam with bikini ready figure thanks to a tummy tuck and regular gym sessions, new hairstyle, new wardrobe that almost certainly came with the help of a stylist, acrylic nails, much different makeup, etc).

She says (and perhaps believes) that by doing the show (and being paid $70k per episode), they are providing the best possible lifestyle for their children.

i disagree with selling one's young childrens' lives for money, cookie. i don't know them personally, but one would think if your family were falling apart and you had young children, the last thing you'd want is for them to have to be in front of a camera beamed all over the world for any part of it.

my mum used to watch the show in the US, but sshe stopped when one of the more recent episodes featured one of the children trying to run away from the cameras and becoming quite upset about their being there so much of the time.

why, cookie, how do you feel about parents who subject their young children to that level of intrusion in exchange for money?

TLC has also stated that they will keep producing the show as long as permitted.

She had PCOS and i think he had some issue too, but it has only been hinted at not explained fully (i always thought it was a male bravado thing) and dont quote me on this but i thought they didnt have IVF but IUI which doesnt involve embryos so the sextuplets weret due to too many embryos being implanted

they've never fully expounded on that, have they, littleducks.

i'm sure there's a reason for that.

Due to the family troubles, the show is officially 'on hiatus' atm with no new episodes filmed until Aug (I'm in the USA, so know far too much about these things!), at which point all will be reconsidered.

In the meantime, there is alot of editing of past footage - hence current adverts promo'ing (is that a word?) 'Jon and Kate: the early years'.

i personally would like to believe that when they intially said they never had time to document their young growing family and were approached by the producer they thought it was an ideal of saving all the memories that they could not video, and also give an insight to people what it was like, to live their life.

Do i think that a childhood should be lost for money, no i don't think i would agree, i do think that their childhood is very presious and alot of it has been lost by the intrusion of camaras.

I also feel that none of knows what really goes on inside the house due to lots of editing i'm sure, and there are laws that the children are only allowed to be filmed a certain amount of hours a day.

I do feel that fame can change people and i really don't think they are the same people that started the show all those years ago, and i wonder if they could do it all over again would they?

for the sake of their children it would be better if the show ended now

Does anyone recall when/why Jon quit his job? Part of me wonders if things would be better if he had kept his independence/sense of purpose if he had kept working.

He mentioned the possibility of going back to work on a recent show when asked what his life might be like post-divorce.

we are quite far behind in england, but he doesn't appear to be heading to work and the little ones are almost 4, they keep switching between 3 1/2 and almost 4 whenthey say their ages
