All the money in the world won't stop your true colours from showing through...

All you have to do is give it time [evil]

At some point (maybe even now), their children will realise that their parent's private affairs are being played out very publicly...and that can't be a good thing.

New girlfriend's interests: fashion, working out and cannibis legalisation. So maybe he's just having fun, but why go so public with the fling? Why not be more discreet?

Jon is pictured holding hands with his new girlfriend on the cover of the most recent People Magazine in America (the source of all 'news', as Expat knows ). The headline reads 'From Divorce To Dating in Twenty Days', which doesn't do our 'friend' Jon any favours.

His new 22 year old girlfriend is the daughter of the plastic surgeon who did Kate's tummy tuck. She's been a 'family friend' for a while, but Jon 'realised' he had 'deeper' feelings for her when he was 'free'.

She is described by pals as 'a bit of a wild child', and there is a charming photo of her taken when she was arrested for cannibis possession a few years ago (one of the things she feels passionately about is cannibis legalisation, and she is a member of a group that works to get legislation passed).

Jon went to St. Tropez with her 10 days ago, and hung out on an (obscure) fashion designer's yacht. Jon spoke of how he, the designer and the girlfriend have hatched a plan to launch a children's clothing line that will be modeled by his kids as a way to launch the line in America. Jon describes it as his new 'job' and new gf is 'creative advisor' for the line. He admits that he hasn't discussed the idea with Kate, as they've agreed a 45 day 'period of silence'.

The article also describes shopping trips to Prada and other designer shops in St. Tropez. We then see photos of what Kate was doing while Jon was partying with the jetset (food shopping, having a picnic with the kids).

It really makes Jon seem a colossal jerk.

SPOILER ALERT
I'm in the US so here's the latest...might not want to read on, it's not very happy
Jon & Kate have been on the front cover of every gossip magazine for the last couple of months. I don't read the details & they deny it all anyway, but they did say in their show that they're separating. The kids get the house and they'll move in and out depending on who's got the kids.
The Duggars now have 18 kids!!! and a grandbaby on the way!
I used to love the Jon & Kate show, but I have to admit Kate was never very nice to Jon.

Viewing figures in America for the first show following the divorce announcement were down a gigantic 77%. Granted, it was 'a look back' compilation show of old clips, but still, that is a huge drop.....

Also, Jon and Kate have released a statement saying they are (currently) not available to speak to the press......wonder how long that will last.

sometimes don't you think they are just playing the part, jon has always been quite relaxed and never seemed that bothered and kate very up tight, and perfectionist, really don't like how she speaks to him, like dirt.

I just watched the separation announcement online, Jon didn't look that bothered, Kate looked very upset imo.

Yes he did. They made a big deal out of it in the show about Jon being able to work from home, choosing his own hours etc...

I'm not sure but am guessing it was the disagreements about Kate and Beth's book about the kids that turned that relationship sour.

Something along the lines of Beth and Kate writing the book (ie Beth did it all lol) and then Jon being credited as an author too. Beth was then pushed aside and Kate took all the credit (surprise, surprise!). Beth refused to answer questions about this but then finally said that they (Jon and Kate) lived it, but she wrote it.

I think their relationship was a bit odd because Beth felt sorry for Kate (she volunteered to feed the sextuplets when they were born) and Kate felt jealous of her lifestyle and money. J&K made a big deal of Beth and her husband being really close friends and then after the book stuff they practically disappeared!!!!

You are hard core JoandHate! I love all this info! Didn't that friend Beth's husband give Jon a job though?

I thought TLC offered to pay them because they were appearing on the show so much (ie babysitting during their book tours/church tours/cosmetic surgeries/etc without resorting to screaming and belittling them 24/7).
Kate went mental because "no one else should make money out of their kids".
Jodi's sister then created a blog criticising J&K but Jodi eventually asked her to stop it. IIRC they only spoke out after the "affair" stuff surfaced.

The kids are not protected in the same way they would be in California/NY though are they? Like limits on how long/often they can be filmed, having a SW to protect their rights on set etc... So I read anyway (don't quote me on it!)

WTF do I know all of this though

i think kates brother and sil weren't paid, then they had an arguement over it and then they complained, so jabberwocky could be right maybe just a case of sour grapes

Pennsylvania does indeed have child labor laws. They are investigating b/c Kate's brother and SIL made a complaint. Could be just sour grapes on the part of the relatives though

Jon was fired from his first job for being rubbish at it;
he was boasting at work they were going to be rich (because of the sextuplets);
the producers didn't approach them - they sent letters to the networks asking for a show; child labour laws do not apply in Pensilvanya; The clothes are gifts/product placement from Gap and Gymboree;
They need lots of help/nannies because they spend half the time travelling across the USA (but they're doing it for the kids ...

I think it's the blatant lying and lack of consideration for their children that pisses me and so many others off.

Those children are just gorgeous though. Kate dresses them really well considering she has zero style herself. Did you see that her brother and his wife (red haired Jodi)have now been interviewed saying that they think the children are being exploited? I love fly on the wall stuff like this although hate Big Brother. I am obviously a voyeur in some way. Do you find that friend Beth a bit sinister?

She/they must have significant behind-the-scenes regular help with those children. Can't imagine how you'd keep up with even the laundry and meal preparation for a family that size!
