i think the idea of the show is good, but she's naive to think her 'fanbase' would want to see it done like this. i mean, why didn't she go bargain hunting in ikea or join a local pottery class or whatever. she could done each show in a different family home or a student house or whatever, and worked with them to do up a room on the cheap. not spent it doing up her ooh la la 2nd home.

I can imagine the pitch: "Kirstie does for houses what Hugh Farringly-Witteringness did for food - grow it/source it/kill it/make it your self, using local, traditional methods and skills."

I'd watch that. It's a great idea.

Unfortunately the resulting programme was as badly made as Kirstie's cushion. She doesn't have the passion for craft that HFW does, and I don't want to see Kirstie giggling making her own crap versions of what real craftspeople can do. And, as someone else pointed out ahead of me, how can she blether on about helping to save resources/the planet by rescuing a mirror from a skip whilst driving around in the biggest 4x4 I've ever seen. The Kath Kidston bit was weird - obviously something didn't work out there, Kirstie looked ill and Kidston hardly said anything. She probably doesn't use her own products in her own kitchen anyway.

I'm tempted to watch the next episode or a laugh though

Are we as imbecilic as the makers of this programme think we are?
