Anyone else excited about this starting up soon?

I'm guessing that The Oceanic 6 are going to go back to the island.

OP posts:
MintChocAddict · 15/02/2009 23:00

Jacob is Jack and Claire's father
Am now wondering who Charlotte's father is given that she was obviously on the island as a child? Arghhhh - my head's getting sore.

littlelamb · 15/02/2009 23:03

Merrylegs that was a flash back not a flash forward. I am loving this season so far, can't wait for next week.

MrsSchmaltzyMerryHenry · 15/02/2009 23:07

Is season 5 better than season 4? I started catching up on S4 earlier in Jan and got really bored as they clearly had no idea where they were going with the storyline. Have lost interest and given myself wholeheartedly to the final eps of Battlestar Gallactica, which is utterly, utterly brilliant.

If S5 is better than 4 I might just force myself to watch 4 in order to get to the good stuff.

Merrylegs · 15/02/2009 23:09

Oh - but that thing with the teddy bear they ran it as in parallel with Sun having her baby, so you thought Jin was rushing to Sun.

And in the clip, the toy shop man asks Jin if the bear is for him and he says something like 'oh no, I'm nowhere near settling down' or something, suggesting that he has no knowledge of Sun.

BUT when did he get off the island and then back on to it for that to happen?

Am I going mad? Is any of this making sense?

Next thing I know my nose will start bleeding - then I'll really be in trouble.

Goodnight fellow Lostees!

MintChocAddict · 15/02/2009 23:10

I think season 5 is better than 4. Definitely more exciting.

littlelamb · 15/02/2009 23:13

Merry, you were meant to thinkit was a flashforward, as all the others had been having flash forwards in that season and you saw Sun in labour too. But when he does deliver it, he says he's only been married a month. It was bascially trying to mislead you into thinking he was one of the Oceanic 6, because you assumed that he was rushing to see Sun in labour, And even though she is asking for him, it is said later that she was just delerious. You later see Sun and Hurley visit his 'grave' with her baby. (God, I know toooooo much about this!)

Merrylegs · 15/02/2009 23:20

Thanks littlelamb! -

That's a bit of a sneaky trick to play on us (me!) making it seem as if it were happening at the same time. I mean, things are confusing enough as it is without mixing up the flashbacks and the flash forwards.

So who put the grave there? I guess Sun.

Really off to bed now... my brain is hurting - and when that happens it usually means creepy Daniel is around the corner, so best scarper.

justgaveup · 15/02/2009 23:21

Adam and Eve statues??? What Adam and Eve statues???

littlelamb · 15/02/2009 23:35

Nononono Merry! The story that the Oceanic 6 stuck to was that they were the only survivors, meaning that everyone else on board was presumed dead, so the 'grave' is fake in that there is no body but as far as everyone else knows Jin (and everyone else bar those 6) is dead. I am mystified about Adam and Eve though. I think they might be Desmond and Penny. Or even Aaron and Sun's daughter. I think Charlotte might be Ben's friend Annie, who gave him the doll. Or even his daughter?! Check out Lostpedia when you have a day or two to spare- it's good for catching up onthe stuff you may have forgotten or missed

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 00:07

Hurley not reading the numbers he heard them from a man in the mantal asylum originally

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 00:09

Don't think Jacks dad is Jacob, Jacob on island before the plane crashed?

AnathemaDevice · 16/02/2009 10:04

It was Hurley that my friend thought was reading the numbers, I watched again but I'm not sure if it was or not. It could be though- we know that the Oceanic 6 will make it back to the Island, but we don't know in which time they'll go back.So Hurley could get back to the Island in the past, and record the numbers. Then the bloke who ended up in the asylum hears them, repeats them to Hurley, who tries to find the origin of them, ending up on the Island. He then gets off the Island, has to go back as one of the Oceanic 6, goes back to the Island in the past...
Time travel makes my brain hurt...
I like the idea of Charlotte being Annie, but I think she might be a bit too young- according to Lostpedia she's about 30, and Ben is about 40, isn't he?

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 10:10

(passes Anathema a tissue to wipe her bloody nose)

ladyhelen2 · 16/02/2009 10:20

NOw this really happened. Watching with DH last night, and just as Sawyer and Juliet's noses started bleeding, so did DH's!!!! Spooky or what???

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 10:28

Oh ladyhelen have you or dh been to the island
(Plumbum, Anathema, merry, littlelamb, and every one else crowds round to stare at ladyhelens dh to see if he is going to say something in a foreign language and tell us the secerts of the island, like what was the big foot statue?

Dozymare · 16/02/2009 13:34

Hello everyone - all i am going to say, is AAARRRGGGGHHHHH - i am so lost on lost, keep forgetting what/who/when but STILL addicted!

Off to look at that website now jsut to confuse my poor brain even more!!

cocolepew · 16/02/2009 13:38

I didn't understand any of last nights episode. Not that I usually do, mind

undercovercarrot · 16/02/2009 15:05

Mintchocaddict - isnt Jack & Claires father Christian Shepherd who helped Locke 'move' the island when he was down in the well last night ? or is he jacob?? confused...

AnathemaDevice · 16/02/2009 19:54

Just had a thought, to confuse things even more. What if Ben was Charlotte's dad? There does seem to be a lot of secret parent/child relationships, and she was on the Island during the time of Dharma. Not sure if Ben would be old enough though. But, then again, if he's been stuck in a time loop as this theory suggests, he wouldn't have aged, would he?

Merrylegs · 16/02/2009 20:09

Anathema - I had a brief idea that Ben might also be Charlotte's dad - it was after the Rousseau flashback when the guy who got caught by the smoke seems to think that he is the daddy of her unborn babe. Ben stole Rosseau's baby, didn't he (and then cruelly sacrificed her) Perhaps he stole her to replace his lost child (ie Charlotte)

But still prefer my Charles grandad/Daniel dad/Charlotte daughter idea.

Also, if it were Hurley reciting the numbers, would he not have realised when he crashed on the island again that he had been there before?

You see, this time thing again. Basically they can have anything happen now and it's messin wid ma head.

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 20:19

But Ben has aged, its Richard who hasn't aged and I think Richard is the person really in charge

Do you think the island is like percutary?

Dozymare · 16/02/2009 20:28

has Ben aged though?? I don't think he haS!!!

PlumBumMum · 16/02/2009 20:30

He has as he started off on the island as alittle boy and met Richard who looks exactly the same

MintChocAddict · 16/02/2009 23:43

undercover carrot - he is Christian Shepherd, but when he was talking to Locke in the well he said 'remember when I asked you to help me in the cabin'. So can we presume that he and Jacob are one and the same??? Maybe???
It's all just soooo confusing. Roll on Sunday!

AnathemaDevice · 17/02/2009 10:07

Ben has aged, but I'm not sure if he's old enough to be Charlotte's dad, so I thought maybe he's been stuck in the time loop for 10 years or so, unlike Richard, who, I think, is going to end up being one of the crew from the Black Rock.
