well, 2 hours on the 12th but you get the idea!

Am going to have to think up a new 24 name....and will need to recap last season and Redemption before monday but thought I would be first in with a thread.

OP posts:
SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 25/05/2009 16:16

I'm getting excited but disappointed (as Monday nights won't be the same!)

It clashes with Ashes to Ashes and BGT but iplayer and sky+ will have to take care of those! Just hope DS settles too!

sockmonkey · 25/05/2009 18:38

Sorry for the delay, but I'm back. Been at my Mum's for the weekend with the boys and had no access to MN

The boys have had extraordinarily late nights so should go to bed no problems...

Audrey... congrats to you! My DSs have biblical names, so will need to cross reference 24 with bible... may end up with an Aaron .

PresidentTaylor · 25/05/2009 19:12

Can I belatedly join in the hyperventilating?

Just mentioned 24 to DH as we were putting the children to bed and he had forgotten about tonights double whammy season ending extravaganza. Don't know how that is possible - I have been thinking about Jack Bauer all day! Am so excited, yet sad that it is nearly all over .

DC wise, I have 2 down, 1 to go. Am giving a v wriggly, non-sleepy DC3 a bf (typing one handed on laptop). She had better go to sleep. I have to eat, tidy up and get my arse on the sofa by 9. Think i may even have a glass of wine seeing as it's a special occasion .

PresidentTaylor · 25/05/2009 19:14

I spoke too soon. DC3 (11 mths) has just sat up and started clapping. Is obviously sensing my urgency to get her to sleep which probably means she won't!

JackBauer · 25/05/2009 19:39

PresidentTaylor, sorry about the kids not going to bed, but what can you expect if they are related to the dithering hitman hirer Olivia

Dh has come home from work 2 hours early so he can have his tea and watch it 'live' Good job he is the boss.... (he did go in 3.5 hours early, so we cna let him off!)

sockmonkey, I laugh at your mini MN failure. Try Monday to the following thursday with only 20 minutes on some crappy slow Tunisian server....

PresidentTaylor · 25/05/2009 19:43

Yay, she is asleep! Lats hope she stays that way until 11 (or preferably the morning but that is less likely).

1 hr 11 minutes to go

PresidentTaylor · 25/05/2009 19:44

Or maybe more minutes than that . Maybe my laptop clock is wrong

PlumBumMum · 25/05/2009 19:47

Dcs in bed going to do a final tuck-in then going to make pack lunches for tomorrow and check uniforms then relaxor maybe not depending on how exciting it gets,
might even open a bottle of wine, after asking dh to put some J2O in the fridge,

se you all for disection tomorrow probably since it is on late

JackBauer · 25/05/2009 20:34

Damn it better be good!
Logging off to get snacks ready

audreyraines · 25/05/2009 20:40

ds went to bed sooooo early tonight (up extra early this morning and nap on the run) that i almost don't know what to do with myself. been watching the goddam simpsons - so boring.
stocked up on chocolate and appletiser (so wish for a good beer or something, but am trying to be good for this yet unborn 24 namesake to be)

PlumBumMum · 25/05/2009 21:01

ok here we go
anybody else want a beer

ohfuschia · 25/05/2009 21:07

would love one but off the booze right now, have set up some key lime pie for half time, not sure it'll help settle the nerves tho...here goes

BillSilverFoxBuchanan · 25/05/2009 22:33
PlumBumMum · 25/05/2009 23:04

I'm not sure what to say, apart from shit I better go get my Rennee name because HELLO she was awesome tonight and def beats Audrey hands down, (even though I did like Audrey)

ReneeWalker · 25/05/2009 23:06

I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do to Alan

Sorry Audrey but its been along time since Jack held your face like that

ReneeWalker · 25/05/2009 23:09

Well Tony was doing it out of love, but he is still bad as he was prepared to kill Jack,
Why d'fuck did Kim take off after your man she had no phone, no gun, ffs she is so dim, what if the police hadn't been there he could have drove right over her

Like'd the excuse about the toothbrush though

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 25/05/2009 23:18

I agree about Renee. Hope we see her again.

I found the whole Olivia storyline annoying. Maybe they could just have spent a bit less time on it...

When Kim went running off after their operative, he'd have heard her heels.

Renee was great btw...!

ohfuschia · 26/05/2009 00:07

Yep Renee great small tantrum commences I wanna know what's going on in that room with Wilson aaargh

Pleased about what happened with Tony because it makes some sense to me, means he wasn't bad bad and it would have been hard to come back from what he did as a good guy, also pleased he didn't cark it at the end...

Loved Jack coming back off the operating table to escape, looking forward to having the old Jack back tho', just not the same when he goes into convulsions after every exertion

I enjoyed it overall, didn't think the White House very strong this year (sorry President Taylor but thanks for the tip about the night feeds. First time since it left the BBC I've been able to watch it weekly, am glad I could keep up with the action but look forward to the box set - if this baby's not a great sleeper I'll have to go back over the old ones in the meantime )

sockmonkey · 26/05/2009 07:24

President Taylor posts: AIBU to send my daughter to jail for hiring a hitman to kill the man who murdered her brother?

I was a bit cross that Kim stole Jack's line "Dammit" when chasing after the operative. We thought she was a bit stupid too. No Phone, no gun, no Crocs (less noise on a hard floor)

Renee was fantastic. I hope she comes back too.

ohfuschia is right. The Tony bit did make sense. I can rest a bit easier to know he had a good-ish motivation to turn so evil. I hope Renee kicks Wilson's butt.

wastingmyeducation · 26/05/2009 08:06

It feels like the next season will begin soon after this one, there was more than usual left hanging in the air at the end I thought.

Tony made sense in the end. He has always let his heart rule his head.

DH hopes thinks that Kim might come back to work at CTU.

Keif is a very good actor, that moment with Renee was superb.

Can't believe it's finished again!

audreyraines · 26/05/2009 08:37

[covers eyes because didn't have the stamina to get through the second episode]

will catch up tonight...

xx

JackBauer · 26/05/2009 09:10

I have to say, I was disapointed.
They might as well have stuck a
'To Be Continued' line across the bottom and be done with it.
They have never ended a season with such a blatant 'this story will continue next season' ending as nothing was really resolved, it was just hinted at.

But so glad Tony wasn't evil, just insane

And ffs Kim, how pissed is Jack going to be when he wakes up!

mum2samandalex · 26/05/2009 10:00

I was really disappointed too cant believe theyve it like that. Still disappointed in Tony cant believe the way he killed larry and was prepared to kill Jack too.

Wasnt keen on president Taylor and hope to see a new president in the next series. And hopefullt rennee and jack together.

PlumBumMum · 26/05/2009 10:01

Actually I have to disagree Jack, dh and I were really pleased that the action didn't go down to the final clock,
I thought it ended well except for the bit with president Taylor taking so long to tell them she was shopping Olivia ffs that took 5 mins
PMSL sockmonkey YANBU because your daughter is a first class bitch

dh said women can do evil so much better than men

BlingDreaming · 26/05/2009 10:15

Right - everyone, I'm back. DH and I had marathon session as we had last week's episode to watch too (hence my silence on this thread the last few days - I hate to stay away to avoid spoilers).

Now...

I TOLD YOU SO! I said all along that it didn't make sense . that Tony was all about loyalty and individuals so I couldn't understand what was going on. Now I do. His ultimate loyalty was always to Michelle. She was willing to let him die for the greater good but he was never able to do that.

Sad that he had to lose his mind completely though. Doesn't bode well for future series - he'll probably find religion or something when he comes out of the loony bin.

Renee still annoys me. That look on her face, even when she's being all cool and hardcore.
