I will be recording it too so I can get stuck in once bedtime is past.

Gawd I used to have a life....

compo · 19/11/2008 14:28

he he my thoughts exactly obama

squeaver · 19/11/2008 14:28

I know OPP. Even more sadly, I've just had a text from my dh telling me the news!

fionaann · 19/11/2008 14:33

A press conference from John at 2.30pm

dalek · 19/11/2008 14:48

Judges whinging about it being a dance contest gets on my nerves - it's not - it's entertainment. Whatever his reasons are for leaving the judges (and James and Cherie - vile woman)did bully him.

I would laugh my arse off (and I have a huge arse) if people stopped watching SCD, nobody voted and the judges had to go back to being nobodies.

In fact (I'm on a roll now) if Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand can get in to trouble on a show that everybody knows was a bit risque for what they did, the judges should be thrown off SCD for their nasty comments on a prime time family show (crosses arms under bosom a la Les Dawson).

squeaver · 19/11/2008 14:49

They're on Sky news now. Apparently Jeremy Paxman's there WTF????

dalek · 19/11/2008 14:50

What with the furore over Laura and Daniel on X factor and now this, is reality TV starting to eat itself?

Wouldn't it be fantastic if this time next year there were no reality TV programmes on the telly?

RamblingRosa · 19/11/2008 14:57

Why's Cherie a "vile woman" dalek? I thought she seemed rather nice. I read an interview with her in the paper the other week and I thought she came across really well.

dalek · 19/11/2008 15:00

Just don't like her - completely unreasonable I know but she's just too perfect - only my opinion though

RamblingRosa · 19/11/2008 15:03

Fair enough I just feel a bit sorry for Cherie and Rachel cos they get a lot of stick for being too perfect.

The only person on there I really don't like now is Tom....I'm sure he's a lovely bloke and everything but he just looks so smug!

Tigerschick · 19/11/2008 15:12

I wonder if there is now enough of a following for the pro dancers on their own for the Beeb to consider bringing back Come Dancing - possibly in a SCD format but without the slebs?
Just a thought ...

katsh · 19/11/2008 15:21

Isn't it possible that JS was too exhausted and just can't face the thought of having to keep dancing for another x number of weeks The "bullying" is just a cover

Tigerschick · 19/11/2008 15:23

Possibly he is totally in love with Kristina and can't stand her rebuffs any longer ... I guess we'll never know the true reason for him to leave ...

ceebee74 · 19/11/2008 15:27

Katsh - my mum said the same thing - I think they were due to a quick dance this week (Jive maybe?) and she thought it may be that he is just finding it too hard?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 19/11/2008 16:32

We've seen people leave the last few series for various reasons.

Kelly Brook beacause of her dad passing away

Jimmy Tarbuck because of health reasons.

I'm pretty impressed with the fact JS stuck with it for so long.

fionaann · 19/11/2008 16:41

The Woman Who Talked Too Much again says it all - womanwhotalkedtoomuch.blogspot.com/

compo · 19/11/2008 16:42

he is doing a farewell dance on Saturday, crumbs saturday's show's rating are going to go sky high

Clayhead · 19/11/2008 16:56

I agree with katsh

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 19/11/2008 17:39

ceebee74 -I think this week ( or next) was the introduction of two dances per show - I would assume a 64 yo gent would have had trouble with that, and this week he was due to Rumba
Wouldn't have been a pretty sight!

I think Kristina deserves to be given someone like Austin or Tom next season should she return, she has certainly paid her dues!!

Tigerschick · 19/11/2008 17:44

The Beeb have updated the link that is further down ... there is now footage from the press conference available on it.

Don't think they were doing a Rumba as he says it was to Murder on the Dancefloor ... but still, the mind boggles

Tigerschick · 19/11/2008 17:46

Here is the update and here is the news conference - tho the end is cut off.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 19/11/2008 18:02

Shiny hair - check!
Extra nice frock - check!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 19/11/2008 18:02

Hope you're all watching ITT now, it's on a half hour early...

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 19/11/2008 19:15

Completely agree with Anton and James that he did a selfish cowardly thing.

John confirmed that there was no pressure to go, he didn't feel bullied, it was his chpoice to go and that he didn;t want to be humiliated by being in a dance off.

Kristina, poor Kristina she was crying and he wouldn't even put his arm round her, was very brusque, "oh she's fine" and carried on talking about himself. Pompous git.
