There's a piece by Emily Wilson in today's Guardian about The Apprentice. Says the kind of thing we've been saying...

Reading this thread is fascinating !
Was not too bothered about the James spoiler...used it as a riddle for DH and he found out right away!
This last episode was indeed slightly boring (and I had to catch up on supermodel on the other side, quite an interesting parallel viewing actually !).
Saira is as usual very irritating and has absolutely no charisma (in spite of BIG words she is using...does she understand them actually?).
Raj....WHY is he still here ?????????????????
Sebastian : it was written that Sir Alan would not hire an MBA guy...which is a mistake I think (not because DH is currently doing the LBS one at the moment, no no !) ...he should have continued to compare his skills and aptitudes with the other candidates : I am sure that with a little coaching Seb could have changed and become a little bit more streetwise.
Ben seems much more wiser and tactical than others. Watch out !
Tim is still on the learning curve, but he DOES learn and takes risks when appropriate. He is on my possible winners list.
Miriam demonstrated on this episode a good deal of calm and resistance to pressure...even in dealing with success. The best you can find in a woman in the corporate world. She lacks charisma and presence somehow but she is a good worker.
Paul...I HATE this guy, but I am afraid Sir Alan like him. Please ...OUT next time !
James, interesting guy. He just wanted a bit of fresh air and exposure I guess. Might not be the last of him...

Ben is quiet dark-haired one who was threatening a couple of them in the car last week for singing.
Tim is very good-looking black guy with glasses.

Tessiebear · 06/04/2005 10:28

Just caught up with this thread. Must say that until last week i thought James could win - but i agree that he is too "posh" for Alan Sugar anyway.
As much as i find Saira annoying i really think she could win - i think she has got the kind of drive that Alan Sugar is after.
Miriam could also win.
I find some of the blokes a bit too laid back
Paul has got to go this week..........
You have to feel a bit sorry for Rachel - she is NEVER going to live that down!!!

Saira has already said her classic line "let me tell you" - it's only been for a minute!!!

I think Saira's all right...

Mud · 06/04/2005 21:12

I like Saira and Miriam (think Miriam could win)

I hate that property developer bloke - well hate is a strong word - he just pisses me off - what does that mean 'property developer'? he bought a couple of flats and flogged 'em off? he's a sleazy git IMO

Chutneys - my arse!
What would you make?

Soup - good idea but my idea would be to sell raw ingrediants but packeaged with a recipe so you can make it ourself. So sell a basket, or bag of veg, with receipe to make the tomato and veg soup. Or meat & veg to make a stew and so on.

Mud · 06/04/2005 21:29

Yes ThomCat Yes - that was just what I said to DH. They should just pack em up with a huge 'organic / home-grown' label and sell them in town. They'd triple their outlay quickly.

They are going to make a load of chutney and sell nothing (well maybe 2 jars) who wants chutney FGS

pupuce · 06/04/2005 21:30

I do I buy them at farmer's market...
