On BBC3 now.

Surprised to see that a mother who is so interested in the way her child/children look, would drive them around without them wearing seatbelts.

Am at that poor excuse for a mother!

When she told her daughter in the car " if you dont get accepted you're grounded!"

And trying to make her dance in the airport.

That poor little girl just didn't look happy.

Absolutely sickening to watch.

schneebly · 14/07/2008 22:04

The mother is trying to live our her unfulfilled dreams through her daughter - it is so sad. That little girl is not happy.

schneebly · 14/07/2008 22:06

x post catweazle - great minds!

turquoise · 14/07/2008 22:08

Even allowing for canny editing, that woman was pondscum. And the father was a thick twat.

What's so depressing is that more and more people seem to think like them now, if not on the beauty pageant nonsense, then on the modelling/celebrity lifestyle being the ultimate aspiration.

HumphreyCushioni · 14/07/2008 22:08

The father is a wimp.
He needs to grow a pair, and tell his wife to stop using their children to try and fulfil her dreams.

at allowing the 11-year old girl to read the article from The Sun, where Lorraine Kelly slated the entire family.

OP posts:
Tinker · 14/07/2008 22:10

Thought it was ironic that the daughter seemed to have inherited the father's looks

JoshandJamie · 14/07/2008 22:14

I just watched this open mouthed the whole way through:

  • MOther: has serious issues. Something went wrong in her childhood because she has serious tiara and sash fantasies. Not saying that's a bad thing. I'm partial to a bit of tiara wearing myself, but she needs to buy herself a sash and tiara from Clinton's cards and dress up for her hubby in the evenings. That's it. Do not take it out on your daughter. She's also exceptionally vain and the epitomy of pushy parent. Revolting woman of the highest order.
  • Father: wanted to slap him for continually calling his daughter dumb. Yes, she certainly acted that way but by the looks of it, it's been the mantra she's been given for some time.
  • Daughter: Needs to have someone return her to her natural self, give her confidence a boost on the brains front, tell her to stop being so vain and that looks, being famous and wanting to be a celebrity is really not something to aspire to.
  • Son: Needs to just let him be a little boy.

My god. The most vile thing I have ever watched. Best line of all was the mother saying how she never won any beauty competitions when she was young because she was ugly and pudgy (or something along those lines) but of course her daughter will win because she gave birth to her, and she had to get her looks from somewhere. Yeah, actually her father who she looked the splitting image of you mad cow.

It's not often I get this riled up by tv, but dammit that woman made me mad.

lilolilmanchester · 14/07/2008 22:17

feel better for that joshandjamie? Didn't intend watching it, just put it on for 5 mins to see what all the fuss was about (there was another thread on this last week I think) and couldn't stop watching it.Gobsmacked. Poor children.

schneebly · 14/07/2008 22:20

It was really quite shocking - I think my jaw was on the floor for half of it!

ScummyMummy · 14/07/2008 22:21

Poor little girl. She seemed dead bored and sad most of the time. `Couldn't believe the way both parents were bigging up their son's atrocious singing (while barely acknowledging Sasha's rather good cheer routine thing). God, he sounded awful.

MingMingtheWonderPet · 14/07/2008 22:22

Couldn't believe her Mum was trying to get her to do her cheerleading routine in the middle of the departure lounge
Poor little girl, who would really want to do that?
Her mother just wants to bask in the refpected glory, sad cow

lilolilmanchester · 14/07/2008 22:23

I think I could have coped with all the other nonsense a bit more if she actually seemed to enjoy it.

JoshandJamie · 14/07/2008 22:29

Feel much better thanks lilo. Poor girl. I feel as though someone has to intercept NOW. Say stop before she become too brainwashed and loses the rest of her childhood.

And another point(s), my last I promise, I'll bet the family sat and watched the show tonight, possibly with a few friends (and a case of beer given how many shots there were of her drinking beer throughout the piece - particularly loved the bit about - let's order a pizza takeaway so we can drink as much as we want - yeah because that'll be nice in front of your kids) and I'll bet that mother just thinks it's another great triumph because they got on tv.

She won't have a clue just how vile she appeared to the rest of the nation.

Seriously, must step away from this subject now. Will go lie down with a nice book.

Kimi · 14/07/2008 22:50

I have never in my life wanted to punch someone so much as this childs mother, what a sad twisted woman she is, she is not even a has been she is a never was, so she got her post children body out at some car shows not vouge is it.
It was not about her children, yes sasha is a pretty little girl (when you was the crap off her face) the son was nothing special tbh it was all about the "mother" she wanted to be famous and was not, is not and never will be, as for her husband what a sorry excuse for a man let alone a father, this man did not have a clue what went on in his own home ffs, and he is deluded if he thinks his wife is "not pushy" I have seen less pushy double glazing sales men.
As for the "mother" I think she should spend some of the money she wastes on making her child look like a hooker and spend it on a good shrink to find out why she is so screwed up that she is pimping out her child to the pagent world, no mrs your little girl does not look like a Barbie doll she looks like jailbait and if you can't see how sad and lonley she is then you don't deserve to have children. And your children wont look so nice once they go through the car windshild because you're not even a fit enough mother to make them put on a seat belt.
I feel so sorry for that child as she is going to leave school with an IQ smaller than her bust size, just like mommy dearest, and please tell my what sort of person let alone mother dirnks at the airport at 8.00am!!!!

Ireally truly think woman like this should not be allowed a sodding cat let allone children, I think she is a total nut job, and a bully.

I really would have to control myself if I saw her in Tesco, she is sick in the bloody head.

I hope that she watches the show and thinks oh god look at what I am doing to my child, but then I am still hoping for a Wham comback and that aint going to happen either.

She is not fit to be a parent.

lilolilmanchester · 14/07/2008 22:54

Part of me was hoping she might be a MNetter and read what everyone is writing and start to think a bit about what she'd doing. But I'm sure she would dismiss it as jealousy (which I'm not, cos my DD is also gorgeous!)

Kimi · 14/07/2008 22:54

I am so so glad I have boys

lilolilmanchester · 14/07/2008 22:58

you could put your DSs into the American Pageants tho Kimi alongside Sasha's brother

LemonyAle · 15/07/2008 00:57

pmsl lilo

Seriously though, I sat through this programme gobsmacked and couldn't stop thinking about Jon Benet Ramsay

Ma clearly has severe 'issues' and as other posters have commented, hubby is just not on the radar...

Lots of little girls like 'dressing up', but the jaded look on the faces of the girls in the pg once they'd been 'made up professionally' was just horrible They looked like Joan Collins in Dynasty most of them, and ffs she was 42 when she played Alexis

How much influence do teachers have to intervene in cases like this, I wonder? I'm not a teacher or youth-worker myself, but as a grown-up in general I'd be very concerned if any 11-year-old that I was in regular contact with was involved in this kind of shebang.

nappyaddict · 15/07/2008 03:22

Felt very sad for the little girl she's had it drilled into her so many times that she's stupid she doesn't think having a brain is important.

She thinks its better than nowadays everyone thinks about looks whereas 20 years ago they thought about their education???

When they said how do you think the photo shoot went Sashsa just looked miserable and didn't say anything. It was all the mother going yeah it was really good, the photos are fab.

And why do they feel the need to bleach her hair? She's naturally blonde anyway!!!and why do they want her to look like a barbie?? i don't understand it at all!

Her mum is so vain aswell calling herself a yummy mummy etc. saying gmtv were desperate for sasha then having to add that they were also desperate for her. ordering to the room cos that's what celebirities do and they have to do it cos they're in the westminster suite. WTF!!! and why does being on tv add to their image. pretty sure if sasha becomes a success it will be her image not their image. you can tell lk wasn't impressed by it all and when she said being a wag was bad you could sasha's mum n dad were thinking what?? that would be brilliant if sasha ended up being a wag.

i think the cheerleading coach has got it spot on. how can the dad say she's not a pushy mum. definitely in denial about that one!!

i felt really sorry for sasha when her mum and dad went to bed and left her practising on her own.

it really said it all when that grandma said her granddaughter was her hobbie.

JoshandJamie · 15/07/2008 06:39

Have woken up and this is still irritating the shit out of me. Thought I would have talked myself down by now.

There was only one good thing in that whole show. I felt when Sasha was left practicing by herself, and when she did a good cheerleading routine in the pageant, she really had applied herself to something and I think she genuinely felt that she had achieved something. So good for her for practicing hard. I just wish she'd done it for her, rather than for that psychotic mother.

I was also wondering about what her teachers would think seeing this show and whether they'd have a quiet word with the parents. Also wondered what type of day Sasha would have at school today with all the other kids having watched it. DO you think they'd think she was a cool TV star, or do you think they'd have the same views we do?

Kimi · 15/07/2008 07:11

I think that poor little girl is going to have a really bad day at school today.

Why can that woman not see what she is doing to her child!
Ok Sasha is pretty but I have seen lots of little girls better looking and not being dressed like a tart by their mothers.

I really think this family need help lots and lots of help, how long before that woman is taking her for botox? what happens if Sasha does not grow the page 3 chest that is needed? Inplants? What happens when that little girl has some sicko rape her? I read in the paper the other week a bit about her and that woman said something along the lines of "I don't worry about pedos as they lile children that look young and Sasha doesent!"

I hope someone at social services watched last night and will be popping round as this is child abuse, the little girl clearly dies not want to do it and that woman is a bully swearing and storming off when a child does not want to make a spectical of herself.

Also wanted to smack her one when she said well we knew Max would do well but not Sasha! I have news for you Mrs, your son in ok looking but nothing special, not even cute, he can't sing and he has attitude that will land him in a lot of trouble before he is much older.

This bitch is so busy trying to make her child old before her time that she forgot to grow up herself, shame she did not stay on the pill and buy a dog to show at crufts or a frigging Barbie collection to play dress up with.

Kimi · 15/07/2008 07:12

does not want to do it
