Early for the Week Two thread but ITT doesn’t seem to be attracting a lot of traffic so I think it’ll work. I’ll do another on the night if I have to.

KEEP DANCING 💃💃

OP posts:

I agree with those who watch it because they enjoy the dancing and I too have found myself getting behind contestants I know little or nothing about previously. I also think a version with Joe Public dancing would be amazing. I get what JaneFondue
is saying about Lawrence and Jowita, but Aliaz and Jeanette dance (as well as being married) and they have a marked height difference too, so it can work. WRT the presenters. I have to admit that when they said there would be three, I didn’t think they would all be there every week. I wonder if it would work
better if they rotated the presenters and didn’t confine them to one “job” as it were?

I have actually seen Aljaz and Janette's dance show. They didn't dance with each other because of the height difference..I am sure they do sometimes but not ideally.
Emma is great and much better than Tess, but everytime she said something, Josh elbowed his way in. Unnecessary.

Yes! They will do this. As Sunday is the only day the couples have off. Then Monday, back to get to start a new dance.

They are not going to scrub off the make up/paint from Nikita and Bethany (normally more have extensive make up etc) then spend hours reapplying it for a 45 minute show.

i wasn’t meaning bringing them all back on a Sunday. They should revert to the results being on the Saturday night. Most people know who has been eliminated by the time they go to bed anyway.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 04/10/2026 09:51

I too watch on catch up and fast forward all the vt’s and the Jojo section which I find so boring. Compared to movie nights of the past this was very lacklustre.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 10:16

Cach was brilliant. I watched it by fast forwarding a lot of it and it was so much better doing it that way.
Wasn’t keen on Dani, but she’ll probably go far.

JaneFondue · 04/10/2026 10:20

I expect Delta, Dani, Cach and possibly Graeme to be in the final four. Maybe Lacey.

Yes i FF in the early days there is so many people i get overwhelmed with them all! I enjoyed some and Ff others on the 2 dances of Lacey and Vitos .I have seen i honestly think they will win. Or at least the final .

Lacey, Graham, Delta and Tabby for me.

AlwaysExtraHot · 04/10/2026 10:49

I've been skipping over the skits and most of the JoJo's Mojo Dojo stuff, largely because the show is so long at this stage but also because I can't stand Josh. It's like Emma's had to bring her annoying kid to work because there's an INSET day.
I thought Johannes was much more confident this week. I actually like him in this role.
Dances: loved Graeme and Lauren (she is my favourite now Karen's gone).
Will and Dianne got a hard time from the judges; it was a tough brief to do a ballroom to that music/scene.
Craig really doesn't like Shaun, does he?! I thought he was good and can see why they gave him the pimp slot.
I know Melanie isn't a great dancer, but I like watching her. She acts the dances really well. I love Aljaz too, so I'll be upset if they go. I thought the singers did a great job with Edelweiss too and don't understand the criticisms on here.
I think Bethany is good, and I liked the routine as theatre, but I agree with Shirley that there was no paso feel to it. I think Nancy was trying to say that she felt pressured to produce a 'wow' routine that was more about theatre than technique.
Chris is dull. I feel for Amy.
I like Lawrence; he seems sweet. Too tall for Jowita though, obviously, and it's hard for a novice man to know how to dance with a much shorter partner.
Cach was good, although I thought it was light on samba.
Tabby is great. Loved her acrobatic work. Mark is a bit clean-cut and boring, God love him.
John was too heavy-footed, I agreed with Craig. Spectacular lifts though. Katya is an evil genius.
Dani I think is competent but dull. Pity as I like Nikita.
I liked Jaime, she gave it some welly.
Lacey was good, very characterful.
Sarah gave it a very good go. I hope she lasts a while but suspect, sadly, she won't.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 10:57

That’s my problem with Dani. She seems good with the technique and definitely looks the part , but doesn’t bring much else in the way of personality and any ‘acting the role’ ( obviously trained actors can do that bit easier though )
Graeham acted his part well and stayed in character, but Karen is a good experienced teacher too and brings out the best. I think I may have spelt his name wrong , sorry ! ( not sure )

Lomonald · 04/10/2026 10:57

Yes i think she wanted to "wow" because of the music/wicked hype. I think some of the professionals are damned if they do and damned if they don't. To untrained eye like mine it was an entertaining paso.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 10:58

I did spell his name wrong ! 😑

SparklyStrictly · 04/10/2026 10:59

I’ve only skim-read the thread so not really sure of the general consensus.

Once again, I really enjoyed last night. I think I’m easily pleased and just simply enjoy watching a Saturday evening, easy watching entertainment show with lovely dancing, people learning a new skill (or getting better at an existing skill) and the joy that comes from watching people enjoying themselves.

I particularly enjoyed Graeme, Lacey & Tabby. I also liked Lawrence’s dance and hope he’s not in danger tonight.

JaneFondue · 04/10/2026 10:20

I think Tabby even. She was awesome and I can only see her getting better and better. She’s also very likeable.

Monty36 · 04/10/2026 11:10

Not keen on the presenting line up. Josh is superfluous.
The best ‘Brucie’ if they wanted someone to fill that role would have been Anton.
Anton and Emma. Johannes is doing okay.

It doesn’t have the slickness of Tess and Claudia. But early days. But never will with joker Josh. It doesn’t fit.

Shaun got 7’s ? Did not understand that. Some of the marking was strange. I do think they will see some who they realise will not be fit enough to do a jive or Charleston if they stay in. Shaun is fit. So could do both.

Yes, I do both like and admire Tabby.
My last 4 predictions are not necessarily people I like. I don't enjoy Dani.

I think Tabby will be more popular than Dani though. I feel the public are more likely to vote for her

I think Josh is doing better than Johannes personally. Though Johannes was better last night. It was just a bit meh. His outfit brought more pizazz than his presenting.

Runningupthecurtains · 04/10/2026 11:22

I thought it was OK as bloody theme week go. The styling/ costumes weren't as OTT as some years i.e. no one in full animal/ character costume in a way that either restricted or hid their movements. A few dances that were hampered by having to fit the film to a dance style that isn't totally compatible - wonder how much say the pros get in that. For example could a pro say you have given us this tune for a samba but I would prefer to do it as a salsa?

SequinsandSlippers · 04/10/2026 11:36

Watched on catch up but ended up fast forwarding lots and still missed the public vote slot.
Group dance - poor Neil's the fecking sloth now?!
I hope he is being paid a decent amount for being the butt of every joke, so he has the last laugh ultimately.
Nikita made a good beast but could have done without the Princess Nikita bs. It was a nice routine but bland. Dani is safe.
John's jig was dire. I thought maybe he had some Irish dance background seeing as we missed Angela's but nope, just Katya being Katya. The full-on family, baby on way VT was very much to put out tensions story.
I felt very sorry for both Chris and Will.
Chris being hampered with Baywatch and Amy dancing round him, the tried and trusted Ola Jordan method.
And Will having to do ballroom in his pants.
Had I got to the vote on time, he'd have had votes (same as the pity votes I gave for bright pink leather troos). I know a stitch up when I see one.
Lawrence's VW was okay. Sarah's Mary Poppins was spit spot on.
Graham's VW was excellent although I still like Jake/Janette's to the same music.
Cach was weird to watch but pulled it off.
Jaime is at least interesting. Glad she changed from the hooker to the brown polka though, albeit she didn't shop in that, that was when she was watching the match.
Bethany should have gone last.
Shaun had some improvement but should have been penultimate. And he still looked uncomfortable.
Melanie does nothing for me at all. Would not be gutted if she was gone tonight.
3 I have forgotten completely, make of that what you will.

SequinsandSlippers · 04/10/2026 11:40

Lacey was good. She doesn't look like she has any figs to give when not performing though. Looks bored/rbf. I quite like that about her. But again, bored with Babywarz and tea parties.
Tabby I will have to look up what she did.
Only want her in til Halloween so we can have a skeleton costume or black cat number.

AlwaysRightISwear · 04/10/2026 11:45

I think Lacey is just still really nervous and lacking in confidence.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 11:46

Lacey is probably tired. Three children and learning a new routine in a week, even if she has a nanny or relatives helping out , it is one of the more grueling shows to do.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 11:51

I’d love Nancy and Bethany to do a big Halloween dance if they make it that far. I can see them as Shakespeare’s sister ‘ doing ‘ stay with me ‘ not sure which style of dance though.

AlwaysRightISwear · 04/10/2026 11:52

I've just realised Emma is still also presenting The Voice. They have some live shows coming up. How is that going to work? Unless they switch to Sundays for the lives.
