I watched some Monday ITT . Ellie was very excitable and making a lot of quips and unfunny jokes. Too many I thought when the focus is Strictly.

I'm glad they are interviewing the celebs in batches rather than trying to do a couple interview each when they are so numerous. It's one of the ITT changes I have suggested in the past- perhaps some is listening arm hankies ✔️ not trying to wedge in 15 separate interviews ✔️ no theme weeks ❌️ oh well there's always next year.

Something I've noticed about the thread is that people generally don't like Delta.
Why?

It's not even like she's a ringy ringer either.

Didn't watch her on Eurovision, but I remember her being number 1 with "Born to try", then she had Hodgkin's disease and disappeared for a bit.

I find her inoffensive and nondescript otherwise.

Don’t have anything against Delta per se (though being a grumpy Brit chirpy Aussies can grate on me 😜). I didn’t think her Samba was that great, to me she just didn’t attack it the way the song needed. As I said at the time, the driving beat needed an element of attack à la Oti - of course we can’t expect any of the celebs to match a pro for energy, but it was missing the “x factor” for me.

I think she would have been better than Josh who could have done ITT i think she would have bounced off Emma better. I am enjoying ITT, I know it is only night 2 but she is great.

Week 2 is just ridiculous for the first theme week, but then nobody will have been voted off, so a deliberate strategy?
Personally I think the first couple of weeks should be compulsory dances, 1 ballroom and 1 Latin American per couple with the BASIC steps.
A lot of basics were just not there on Saturday. Far too much filming of the upper bodies, which is pretty boring, but it is a dancing competition, which generally means your feet need to be playing their part!

Hate theme weeks.
The usually terrible costumes and music distracts from the dance.
I suppose they think it would get boring without them...
I only like halloween week(I know many are not keen) but ONLY when the costume and music is done well and is slightly creepy not silly (lobsters and what nots)

I love Halloween week - we watch with Halloween party foods and really enjoy the autumny feel of it all

The hosting set-up is odd.
It's like the producers said "It HAS to be different from before," but then makes it precisely the same except with an extra presenter.

I saw a clip of Janette Manrara on jamie Laings podcast saying she was devastated to not have got the hosting job.

I agree, save the theme weeks for later.

Josh wouldn’t do ITT - he moved his family to Exeter from London last summer so he wouldn’t do anything that could mean spending that length of time away from them. It’s easy for him to go up to London on Friday and come back early Sunday (assuming he has a driver) rather than have to be there Monday-Friday for the ITT record.

I did wonder about Janette.
Why did she and Fleur get replaced?

I guess because she was so wooden on ITT; there would be a sad announcement about a person leaving the show due to injury and you could see them (Fleur) both reading the words off the autocue. I’ve listened to the Jamie podcast and Janette was given the reason that she was great but it wasn’t to be (ie not the right chemistry with the other try out presenters), she also said she was really nervous at the try out. From the podcast and other media it seems the rejected options were Janette, Zoe, Rylan, Fleur, Ellie T who got ITT instead, Sian Welby and it hasn’t been said but I’m sure Angela Scanlon .

i met ellie at a kids party thing and she was snooty to me and treated me like i was a daily mail journalist (and not a fat fifty year old as i was then) so i cannot bring myself to watch her on it takes two.
