Early for the Week Two thread but ITT doesn’t seem to be attracting a lot of traffic so I think it’ll work. I’ll do another on the night if I have to.

KEEP DANCING 💃💃

Lauren is a great teacher- but hasn't Graeme competed in Latin and ballroom previously? So, a bit of a ringer- even if not a traditional one! I'm all for a ringer, so no objection at all but I think it's harsh that some people with dance experience receive more negativity than others,

Yes amateur competitions in Latin so a bit more than weekly class - but not ballroom I believe

Why not? All the judges are ex-dancers and with experience of judging (esp Shirly and Motsi). It's a logical path for longterm pros retiring from the contest.

Is it me or have the judges been toned down a bit? Less OTT stuff (and less leering from Shirley), more focus on the technical comments.

I meant ex dancers from this show…

i think judges that have been round the block are better - I didn’t think it ever worked with janette on ITT either - it just smacks of like “acting up” at work rather than someone really experienced in the role who knows what they are doing

Saying that I also think Anton would be much better following in Brucie’s footsteps for presenting so 💁🏻‍♀️

Emma and Josh remind me of the skits Tess and Bruce previously did. Not to my taste. I prefer it when Josh can be naturally witty, not hammy and awkward. They were doing things like this with Tess and Claydia too, as I come to think about it. Does anyone enjoy them?

No i dont, not even funny for kids

LillianGish · 03/10/2026 23:12

I thought Claudia was at her best back in the day when she presented It TakesTwo - the Clauditorium was kind of a throwback to this. She came across as a genuine fan who knew nothing about dancing and therefore could ask the questions the audience were wanting to ask. It felt like a genuine curiosity rather than heavy scripting. I don’t think she’s a great presenter per se (I can take her or leave her on Traitors and her foray into talk shows was very short lived). Strictly just somehow tapped in to her genuine fandom and her enthusiasm was infectious. I think Bruce’s departure and now Tess and Claudia has proved that the format is bigger than the presenters. We just need them to tell us who’s up next and let the dancing take centre stage. The judges are big enough personalities - the presenters are just wallpaper (which is why Tess was perfect).

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 03/10/2026 23:17

I thought both JoJo and Josh were more relaxed tonight. I liked the way JoJo spoke to the couples, he even danced a little. Josh made me laugh a couple of times, with his funny quips to the judges. I really like Lacey. Felt sorry for Will and Dianne - their dance wasn't great, but I thought the judges were very harsh on them. Hard to say who will leave this week - quite a few forgettable dances tonight.

doveinitial · 03/10/2026 23:41

i am away at a wedding so haven’t seen tonight’s. Are they still doing the pre recorded nonsense on a Sunday?

EmptyInTheValley · 04/10/2026 00:14

Mokel · 03/10/2026 21:38

I can see Josh being dropped after one series and revert back to 2 presenters Emma and Jojo.

What do we call the Clauditorium now?

I feel sometimes, the movie helps in movie week. Give them a song from a well loved movie, it win votes as sometimes viewers give a couple of votes if a song from one of their favourite movies is depicted.

I can see Chris n Amy going. That's harsh for poor Amy. Two first exits. She needs another Karim style ringer next year.

Graeme - joint 2nd. At the beginning, he was probably predicted 2nd bottom. Lauren is such a good teacher.

Someone on a previous thread said send Josh up there and call it The Josh Pit, which I thought was inspired (if they keep him, that is).

nomdegrrr1 · 04/10/2026 00:22

I like the presenters. I think that they're finding their feet and looking for their rhythm, but I like them.

Coming in late. I like watching Julian, and I guess that he won't get far this year, but my impression is that he likes his lifts. IIRC, Carlos didn't have too many with Karen last year, and Anton never seemed to do many lifts, but Julian seems to go for them. I don't know if I'm wrong, but I've always got the impression that it's the female professionals that usually go for the crazy lifts. I hope that he gets through to see if the lifts continue.

That’s what I wondered she was in the background last week too.

She is the new Ukrainian (not sure I have country correct) professional who was introduced this year but doesn’t have a celebrity

Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwich2 · 03/10/2026 22:23

Chris has a big you tube following through for voting

I went off Chris with how he hugged his partner after the dance. Found it a bit slimey and awkward.

Freysimo · 04/10/2026 07:32

Felixthewonderdog · 03/10/2026 21:05

I think the show is tired and probably had its day

how many more years can they trot out the same formula?

Agree. Luckily we can record so zip through talking and just watch dances and judging/scores. I usually have one or two favourites by now but find it all a bit lacklustre. I really wouldn't bother but DH still likes it. I can't see me bothering to vote this year either.

Pabbel · 04/10/2026 07:40

Josh needs to go he is terrible, Emma and Jojo could compare the show easily.
Thought Lacey really good and Delta.

I’d keep Josh and put Jojo back on the dancefloor. His dances were superb. Josh is best when he can talk naturally to people, as on ‘last leg’, so semi scripted, but allowed to use his natural wit and rapport with people. Let the judges do the technical stuff, and Josh do the ‘how was that for you?’ Stuff.

RowsOfFlowers · 04/10/2026 07:54

Think Melanie, Sarah or Chris should go…

Totally agree. I was rather harsh about JJ last week but thought he was good last night, daft outfit yes but presenting was relaxed. Ditto Josh.

Thought it was a really good show, lots of variety and good dances. Barring Chris's awkward static shuffle.

Prawnalicious · 04/10/2026 08:22

Clauditorium should be the JoJo Mojo Dojo (a la Barbie film)

doveinitial · 03/10/2026 23:41

Yes! They will do this. As Sunday is the only day the couples have off. Then Monday, back to get to start a new dance.

They are not going to scrub off the make up/paint from Nikita and Bethany (normally more have extensive make up etc) then spend hours reapplying it for a 45 minute show.

TheSunIsAlwaysThere · 04/10/2026 08:34

I didn't watch last night was watched the football instead. As soon as that training camp nonsense started I came straight on here to see what you're all saying! 0/10 for humour.

CarlaH · 04/10/2026 09:08

They won't admit they have made a mistake but I really would prefer Josh upstairs and Emma on her own downstairs. I like Johannes but not in this role.

Josh is like a spare part with Emma, pretty much pointless.

Recklessismymiddlename · 04/10/2026 09:16

I thought last night was better. I don’t mind Johannes upstairs, but I think he needs a bit more free rein, to talk about the dances, as that would make more sense.

JaneFondue · 04/10/2026 09:17

Sorry, I am officially the Strictly Grinch. For the first time in many years, I didn't vote and watched on catch up; fast forwarding most of the evening including the presenters and the penguins!
I think my Strictly days are over and it makes me sad.
So many things wrong:
Josh and Jojo: I really can't bear them and it makes me sad to see Jojo reduced to simpering and eye fucking the camera
The CGI
Couples choice and themes in the second week! And over ambitious choreo
Some terrible costumes; what has Will Best done to piss off Wardrobe.
Mismatched couples: Lawrence is stooping over Jowita

I did enjoy Graeme and Delta. Hope one of them wins. Lauren deserves a win. So does Kai. But guess I won't vote.

LillianGish · 03/10/2026 21:32

My first watch with the new format and I didn't miss Tess or Claudia at all. TBH, I'm there for the dancing - Strictly is my ultimate comfort watch for a Saturday night in. The gallery has always been a lot of time filling while the judges work out their scores - if I was watching on catch up I'd fast forward through that bit. I like Jo-Jo because he's a dancer and he therefore knows of what he speaks. I hardly know a single celebrity, but I still enjoyed it because it's about learning to dance. They could bring people off the street and I'd still enjoy that aspect. Dave Arch and his band are the unsung stars. The presenters are almost incidental.

I agree with your post totally.

I am still loving Strictly. I really like Emma (much better than Tess ever was) and thought Josh was much much better last night.

I don't honestly care whether I know the celebs or not. Over the years my favourites has often been people I had never heard of.

I actually said to DH last night "they could drag people in off the street and I would still watch it and enjoy it".

Lomonald · 04/10/2026 09:23

Mismatched couples: Lawrence is stooping over Jowita

My conspiracy is, they were paired because they are young and attractive, and Shirley could talk about spark and chemistry, and the audience would go "ooooo" and it would give them a "storyline"

JaneFondue · 04/10/2026 09:25

Will Will Best ever be fully clothed? A question for the ages.
