I’m wondering if they’re lining him up for a future judge. For all we know, this could be someone’s last series.

My first watch with the new format and I didn't miss Tess or Claudia at all. TBH, I'm there for the dancing - Strictly is my ultimate comfort watch for a Saturday night in. The gallery has always been a lot of time filling while the judges work out their scores - if I was watching on catch up I'd fast forward through that bit. I like Jo-Jo because he's a dancer and he therefore knows of what he speaks. I hardly know a single celebrity, but I still enjoyed it because it's about learning to dance. They could bring people off the street and I'd still enjoy that aspect. Dave Arch and his band are the unsung stars. The presenters are almost incidental.

I can see Josh being dropped after one series and revert back to 2 presenters Emma and Jojo.

I feel sometimes, the movie helps in movie week. Give them a song from a well loved movie, it win votes as sometimes viewers give a couple of votes if a song from one of their favourite movies is depicted.

I can see Chris n Amy going. That's harsh for poor Amy. Two first exits. She needs another Karim style ringer next year.

Graeme - joint 2nd. At the beginning, he was probably predicted 2nd bottom. Lauren is such a good teacher.

I really like Emma & Josh but two presenters on the dancefloor feels crowded.

I love JoJo too...but as a dancer!

My ideal pick would have been Emma or Zoe Ball replacing Tess, and Rylan or La Voix replacing Claud.

Why not? All the judges are ex-dancers and with experience of judging (esp Shirly and Motsi). It's a logical path for longterm pros retiring from the contest.

Is it me or have the judges been toned down a bit? Less OTT stuff (and less leering from Shirley), more focus on the technical comments.

Not heard of Lawrence, Chris, John or Cach before. I recognise Bethany from HoD but couldn't match her face to her name

Week 2 verdict (I don't tend to vote or get invested until later in series).

• Emma is much better than Tess but Claudia is much missed upstairs and Josh is unnecessary.
• This show was better than last week.
• So far I like Graeme (Lauren is one of my faves), John (Katya deserves a final, he's giving off humble Irish family man vibes which will take him a long way) and Lacey (well, more Vito tbh). Vito in those jeans, phwoah! I don't know Lacey as I don't watch EE, but she seems nice enough. (Apparently her kids are called Dusty, Trilby and Gypsy, can that possibly be true????)
• I also love Julian but think he will struggle to get Sarah very far in the competition.
• Chris and Shaun are woeful.

Lauren is a great teacher- but hasn't Graeme competed in Latin and ballroom previously? So, a bit of a ringer- even if not a traditional one! I'm all for a ringer, so no objection at all but I think it's harsh that some people with dance experience receive more negativity than others,

Judges have definitely toned it down - for now anyway. Pity Shirley spoilt it with the little shoes, otherwise all good.

The only dances I enjoyed watching tonight were Cache’s Greece dance and Jamie’s Pretty Woman Dance. The rest were all a bit lacking in entertainment and there were some I just skipped entirely as I was watching on catch-up.

I can’t forgive the band/Orchestra for destroying Eidelweiss. Their version was horrific.

I thought JoJo was much better tonight! (Dress sense aside).

I watched Emma introducing the judges and getting the show started on The Voice tonight and she was so much better on her own. She's being held back by having to do a double act with Josh.

I quite enjoyed that! I only watched the dancing,

I'm utterly bemused that Emma and Josh supposedly had "great chemistry" in testing. Its like watching an Olympic athlete hobbled in a three legged race with their aged uncle.

Reading back, I can see that Josh and JoJo are still terrible. I recommend just watching the dancing.

I think the judges felt a lot more comfortable tonight and I did enjoy them!
the couples were abit…. Meh. There’s normally a stand out and there doesn’t seem to be one this year.

I am predicting a shock bottom two like Chris and Melanie.

and the interim bits seem interminable with JoJo in charge, asking “ how do you feel?”Urgh.

Can't believe how few people are enjoying Josh. I thought the trio was much better this week and all did well. Anyone critical please give them more of a chance.

I love Emma, and I actually usually find Josh funny but he’s so out of place ! Johannes needs to stop wearing silly outfits and go back to dancing. Lord knows who they could bring on to work with Emma, can’t stand Zoe Ball, Rylan etc etc
I’ll say it very quietly, Emma is much better than Tess ever was and….. I find Claudia an incredibly irritating presenter (ducks)

its the most premium spot on tv for presenters - we shouldn’t need to wait for them to bed in - should be presenters who are able to do the job from get go
