I too thought she was the perfect person for Love It or List It @Maggiethecat

stockpilingallthecheese · 21/10/2026 23:42

im local. Not sure why the younger couple were so hung up on being in Spencerโ€™s Wood. Thereโ€™s nothing there except now vast new build estates! Tadley/Baughurst would be much better, still easy to get to IKEA, more space and less traffic! Also odd to hear Three Mile Cross referred to as a leafy village!

Sharon is clearly deluded, she could have got a perfectly nice little house or maisonette in Woodley near her grandchildren. West Reading is pretty rough in parts though and extremely non-village so that was fair enough! Couldnโ€™t figure out where her current home was though as similar style.

Always get excited by a local episode but that one was just a waste of time!

Walkingwithlions · 22/10/2026 02:45

I normally love LLL but that one was a waste of space. I feel sorry for Sharonโ€™s buyers. Sheโ€™s a proper time waster.

The couple were ditherers. Phil showed them some perfectly good properties but they are still looking.

daffodilandtulip · 22/10/2026 08:03

That lady will never buy a house! Shame Kirsty canโ€™t be more honest.

HoldMyWine · 22/10/2026 08:32

In fairness Kirsty was the most honest I have seen her. She was properly biting her tongue.

Thank you. Always good to have some local input as I'm never clear whether the area they stretch to with the bigger house is better - in the case of Baughurst - or worse - in the case of West Reading. What may seem a no-brainer to the casual viewer may have unseen drawbacks which the house hunter and any locals watching will know about. I'm thinking the young couple probably belonged to the running club in Spencers Wood and may have had other activities in that very specific area. Sharon was on the wrong show - should have been on LIOLI - but great to see Kirsty losing her cool, a rare sight, loved it when she demanded to be taken to Sharon's house.

Yes love it!

Back.to the Stratford program 18 month baby was called Robyn and gender never mentioned or obvious from the filming anyone else notice? Seems deliberate...??

Piggywaspushed · 23/10/2026 07:44

Not sure how you know the spelling. They frequently do this on LL. Just refer to the children as 'little Robin' or whatever. Some parents do choose to bring up their children so they aren't strongly channelled into reductive gender scripts but we don't know if this couple have those ideas and if they do, so what?

You understand it is not our right to know the information you seem to crave ,right?

Meredusoleil · 23/10/2026 09:39

Spellings from subtitles at a guess?

I was wondering this as 5 years a very long time to look

but will see what happens at the end โ€ฆโ€ฆ.

I feel very bad for the person who offered on that lady's home and was presumably strung along and let down. By the end of the programme she still hadn't decided what she was doing! Quite a disappointing episode overall. I don't know if anyone else has noticed that the newer episodes are now much more geared towards drama and controversial/memorable moments and plot twists - not that I'm complaining because I quite enjoy watching it most of the time ๐Ÿ˜‚

What did I say right at the beginning ๐Ÿ™„

As soon as they introduced her and said she'd been looking for 5 years I said to DH that there was no chance she'd buy anything!

CrushingOnRubies · 23/10/2026 19:04

You know youโ€™ve been house hunting for too long when one of the first properties you viewed has been lived in and back on the market after a reasonable amount of time.

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 23/10/2026 20:42

I think the young couple will regret not buying the house in Baughurst, when the kids start arriving and they need to live again. Sharon is an absolute nightmare!

purpleme12 · 23/10/2026 22:35

Maggiethecat · 21/10/2026 20:36

I donโ€™t watch this show a lot but Iโ€™ve never seen Kirstie so obviously pissed off with someone.

When leaving the Tilehurst house (that Sharonโ€™s seen before independently) Kirstie has walked off ahead of Sharon ๐Ÿ˜ณ

The body language is not looking good.

I thought the same

purpleme12 · 23/10/2026 22:50

I think that was actually the most frustrating episode I've watched of this

I had hope for the couple but then they came out with nothing

And I was just annoyed that that single woman was on the programme in the first place!!!

purpleme12 · 23/10/2026 22:57

Halloween22 · 22/10/2026 21:55

Back.to the Stratford program 18 month baby was called Robyn and gender never mentioned or obvious from the filming anyone else notice? Seems deliberate...??

Why? I don't think they needed to mention the sex.
The programme had nothing to do with that and I don't think it would have added to the programme either

Maggiethecat · 23/10/2026 22:58

But they must have had people on before whom theyโ€™ve sussed pretty quickly were not emotionally ready to move?
Kirstieโ€™s clear exasperation and lack of pretence at being amicable is so out of tv character for her.
Perhaps some behind the scenes shit went on.
