I don't find odd that there is no Vinny resemblance though, that isn't uncommon. My friend had a white mother and black father, she herself looked mixed race but her brother looked white until he got into his teens, and then over a couple of years he became very dark skinned and looked just like his dad.

As it turned out Priya's baby had the 'wrong' dad, it could be that Vinny is actually the dad. Two wrong dads within weeks of each other would be ridiculous even in Walford!

Ahh but do you remember the Baby Mix Up storyline , Tommy and James .
That was a complete "suspend belief" event

Is that the Kat-Ronnie baby swap, and it was Ronny's baby who died and.... yeh, that one?

ISTR the producer 'stepped down' as a result of that one, which is a cheering thought in this particular instance!!

This may be naive but as 2 of Ravi/Priya children have come out obviously mixed/more Asian in their appearance then you would expect all subsequent children between the 2 to come out the same? So if a whiter than white ginger baby popped out that would be a different situation from Vinny and Penny having their first child together?

Completely different though because neither Ravi nor Priya are white. Whereas Penny is white so her child could be quite fair skinned.

God this week has been a pile of Hawkins dross! I couldn’t understand the scene with Ned and the former business partner. Did Ned blackmail him by saying he would turn a counselling session he had with the guy into a podcast??

How did he convince the guy to even meet him in the cafe (or did he just find him by chance in there?). I also didn’t understand when the business partner said he only took half the money. It seemed quite a dramatic statement and Ned looked menacing as if he was going to confront someone about that but then nothing more was said in his next scene with Nicola.

Overthinking it all of course😅 I do like Gemma so she can stay along with Nicola but the rest of that motley crew can go.

You're right, it didn't make sense. It seemed just a convenience to provide the necessary cash, and to show us Evil Ned.

@Eastie77Returns glad it wasn't just me confused about the half the money thing. Maybe all will soon be revealed (I can hardly contain my excitement)

I like Gemma too. I remember the actress from when she was in Brookside!

I think ( it’s only a guess) that Adam the ex business partner was trying it on by saying he only owed half the amount and that’s when Ned went all weird on him and did the glare and he then paid it all.
To the person wanting to know how he found out where he lived and so on, Ned asked Phil for the information and Phil found out for him.

Surely Ned couldnt turn a counseling season into a podcast. I just thought he meant he would send it to his partner Malandra, which Adam didn’t want him to do.
However , it was such a weird scene all round , he may have threatened this! He got the money back straight away, so whatever he told him must have been bad.

Why did Ned even have a recording?? He must have had a crystal ball if he knew he’d need whatever Adam told him for future leverage🙄 He said that there was a podcast he knew the guy’s girlfriend would like and then mentioned something about the recording featuring on it so assumed that was the blackmail. And how convenient Adam had the £15k immediately to hand.

I can’t believe Nicola gave him half the bar for that paltry amount. Even when he gives her the other half that’s still £30k for half ownership of a busy East End bar! I know she was desperate but she should have gone to Phil. That kind of money is chump change to him.

To be honest , I thought Nic might ask Phil, but despite Jumpers being a Mitchell , he isn’t that enamored with this crowd much to give them any money.
I know he likes George though.

Wouldn't Ned loose his license/get into trouble from the relevant authorities if he made public confidential information on a client?

Also, didn't jumpers say he'd transfer everything over to her before he went to jail?

I didn't hear the word podcast, he was just going to send the tape to the guy's girlfriend I think?

None of it makes any sense. Why would Ned record the session in the first place, psychotherapists don't generally do that. And if he did, why would he have the foresight to keep a copy in case he needed to do some blackmailing a few years later.

I imagine Ned has been struck off already, otherwise why is he not currently therapising?

It is all as nonsensical as Zoe and her half baked twins. The plots are not getting any better, NYD is guaranteed to utter rubbish.

Ned is just dodgy isn’t he and I do hope that Gemma finds out soon what he is really like. She has been with him for years and probably just too immune to his lies. I hope they don’t turn him into another Gray .

Someone said yesterday (Alucard?) that Ned likes his women daft and that really seems to be the case. He can deal with Gemma and Jodie because they both behave like ten year olds. He will thoroughly dislike someone like Nic who is independent (and murderous - will he be number three? 😆)

Shelling , I have my fingers crossed Nicola may have him down as a liability with the business and kill him off! You never know.
It’s so odd that it’s Nicola and George in the boarded up pub NYD and she has a foot in plaster and beef with Chelsea. Maybe Chelsea has an affair with the awful Ned! Or is caught kissing him or something like that.
She was with Gray and had Jordan , so not a good judge of character.

Good point if Ned was able to work as a psycho (can't spell it) he would be as he'd make a good living. Must be a reason he's not.

Yes, why were they so broke and needed to set light to the house ? Ned did say to Nicola he was up against it , yet able to get the money back from Adam really quickly. He could have tried to trace him himself, although he said he thought he was abroad. Yet Phil managed it in days! Doesn’t add up much.

It makes as about as much sense as every other plot this year!
The only good storyline was Nigel's illness and death. After that it all went to pot.

Yep, the Nigel story was so well done and his ultimate goodbye. Even the NYD episode wasn’t terrible.
Since this it has been a mess. I have grown to like new head Ashneet, but they will probably mess up her character and bring Gigi over for more arguments.

I think they could have brought the Hawkins in gently and gradually got us used to them. Bringing in multiple incredibly irritating characters at the same time accompanied with an overcomplicated storyline that has more holes than a big chunk of Swiss cheese was a bad move.

i agree with you.

The Priya actress is Asian in real life I think, her real life mother is a well known Indian actress Shaheen Khan. In the soap she is clearly cast as at the very least half Asian as her character’s surname is Nandra. I don’t think they are trying to pass her off as white? If they were, the baby being Max’s wouldn’t have been such an issue because if it looks white she could just say it takes after her.
