I think Darnell said he is a partial match but it's not enough. I was wondering if they were going to ask the niece but I suppose if Darnell is not a strong enough match she won't be either. I wonder if Jack and Jack has fallen out with Denise by NYD becuase she stops treatment (although it seem by then she is strong enough to get dressed for the mystery wedding and slam out of the house).

Ian looked depressed for someone who will be released from prison next week! Another unbelievable twist. Why would he be released just because Chelsea produced a statement basically saying "I shouted at my kid so don't blame Ian for running him over".

I'm just not invested in any of the storylines at the moment. I fast forward any scenes with Amy and Craig as I can't bear it, Lauren and Mark running around the square trying to shag every 5 minutes is ridiculous and I don't care about Ash, Penny, Ravi and the kids etc. The only part I liked today was the scene between Dee and Phil.

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 12:12

Max returned in mid December so if he had a 12 month contract it would be up then. I would be surprised if he is leaving in January and they have kept it secret, when they have blabbed Oscar and Linda’s exits so far in advance.

We've seen how unwell Dee is at the moment and if she doesn’t find a donor she would not be slamming out of the house on NYD, she’d be dead.

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 12:16

I liked the scene with Phil and Denise , but they are both experienced actors , top of their game and natural with each other.
Amy and Craig not eating their 99s was madness ! It is a grim story and hopefully won’t last long..
Obviously Ned will save the day with the money Nicola needs. Lauren and mark is just junior and cindy with the sneaking about , but at least they are similar ages I suppose. Will she get a fine for taking Louie out of school ? It’s not half term yet.
Isn did look glum didn’t he. What’s up there ?

Kats brilliant acting

Followed by the twins breathing in and out 😩😩😩😩

It was a tough one. I had tears flowing for that episode. Kat is brilliant.

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 12:31

Maybe Ian is one they release under the new early release scheme and not really because of Chelsea’s involvement. He was originally down to stay beyond Christmas and new year, so why the long face ?
Maybe he feels he should do more as gulity over what happened. Which would be hard to live with.

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 13:02

Ian would only serve half his sentence, and he'd be out in October anyway regardless of Chelsea's statement.

Lauren taking Louie out of school for a week during termtime so they can visit Tanya. As if.

Darnell said he is not a close enough match, but is he telling the truth? He looked a bit shifty. He has spent the entire time coming up with excuses for why he can’t do it so I suspect this is another “the dog ate my homework”. If he isn’t a match, why did they cast him.

I liked Denise’s line “I’m not dead yet but I’m already benched” and her chat with Phil pointing out that prolonging life if every day is rubbish feels pointless.

Not seen today's episode yet. But just came on to say if Darnell is saying he's not a match it sounds a bit fishy to me. Surely the hospital would have to confirm that and they already said they had found one?!?

He is definitely trying every avenue to avoid giving any kind of cells or blood or whatever to help Denise. So it wouldn't even surprise me if he hadn't even done the test and was just saying that to put Denise off!

It was, kat is brilliant as always. I truly love her

So is Oscar! Who managed to hold his own with her when talking about his mum losing abi

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 13:31

The hospital originally said they found a donor (Darnell) but he needed more tests to establish he was a close match. As you say, he was trying everything to get out of it and I agree with you I am not even convinced he did the tests.

I remember during Covid there was a discussion about vaccine hesitancy being highest amongst black people for historical reasons (distrust of medical professions injecting things into them). So maybe this is yet another public information campaign about the root of Darnell's refusal. When he was refusing to go ahead last week Denise said to Jack something like "it goes much deeper than that" so maybe that is what she was alluding to?

If so, they are loading way too much onto this storyline but Wadey does seem to be a fan of overloading.

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 14:20

Yes , I suppose that Denise will have a chat to her nurse and maybe one of them will say ‘ Darnell didn’t go ahead with the other tests ‘ or some such. Although it breaks all the confidentiality rules and so on.

Would her consultant say anything about it maybe ?..
Or she will see her notes.
She is going back in soon , unless she does decide not to , but then she wouldn’t be around NYD as shelling pointed out. Maybe Darnell IS lying and the daughter will talk him round just to make the storyline a bit longer!

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 15:35

Maybe this is where Nosy Porter comes into his own! 😆

Eastie77Returns · 28/09/2026 16:27

It didn't occur to me that Darnell was lying. Saying that, it is odd that he was the one who told Dee and not the hospital and he seemed to find out very quickly. Lying would be quite an awful thing to do in these circumstances but I suppose he's genuinely terrified about dying and leaving his daughter.

I thought Ian looked particularly sad when Peter was saying how great Lauren is. He can see the two of them are just another version of him and Cindy.

So Ned will obviously track down this random business partner who stole his money - what are the odds that Phil was able to use a contact and track him down - and save Nicola's bar. She will be grateful to him and it's quite predictable how that will end....we must be overdue yet another storyline with a character having an affair with their sibling's spouse🙄

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 16:35

I also wondered if Ian is aware that Lauren is like Cindy , but I also felt there was something else going on to? Maybe his scared of facing Chelsea and Jordan. Worried about his businesses ( which have been kept going , but by who I’m not sure ) it was a strange reaction to being released and he has done some of the time. It was weird.

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 16:36

I think Ian had been beaten up hadn't he? He had a bruise on his face. I thought the idea was that he'd had a hard time in there. No doubt he'll be over it in a fortnight though.

If Ned does get hold of this mysterious money he'll have to give it to Nic (I suppose he'll buy into the bar himself) so there is no way the Hawkins can take over the Vic. Thank god.

murasaki · 28/09/2026 16:37

It was. And did I miss something about the result of him stabbing Gray? Or has that just been glossed over?

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 16:37

What have I missed with Ned? Who is the business partner ? I thought they lost it all by burning the house down for the insurance and being found out, but obviously something else going on ? I think I zoned out of Ned’s conversation with Phil last week!

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 16:40

When Ben came out of young offenders , it was Shirley who helped him. No doubt Ian will sit on Arthur’s bench and someone will have words of wisdom for him and he’ll heal about his awful time doing porridge. 🥣

SnowFrogJelly · 17/09/2026 23:26

Kat was brilliant tonight.. Penny’s baby is enormous and never cries and no one has noticed that he’s white!

I'm just catching up after a few weeks and wondering why they've hired a three year old to play newborn Ethan.
That child is massive!

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 16:48

@murasaki I don't think Gray has ever been mentioned again. One minute Ian's being accused of stabbing Gray then... nothing.

80s I have no idea who this business partner is supposed to be either. He was just invented so Ned could access some cash at the right moment I suppose!

It was never mentioned at the start, then suddenly appeared when it needed to be shoehorned into getting Nic some money. I'm not convinced the writers think we have any attention span at all.

Shellingbynight · 28/09/2026 16:50

I think we are supposed to wipe our memories at the end of each storyline.

Probably. I know the whole thing is brain rot, but mine hasn't rotted that far yet....

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2026 16:53

Ethan is big. I bet that next time we see him , it’ll be a new born size again!
Agree that the writers think we don’t remember past storylines. We may forget some, but mostly we can remember a lot more than they give us credit for or can look it up. They often forget this !

mumofoneisonozempic · 28/09/2026 16:56

I find it insulting that the writers expect us to have forgotten storylines, and them making up shit as they go along

Quite. I've probably been watching longer than some of them have been alive and I'm in my 40s. I remember A LOT.
