Ryan's 'public speaking' seems very 'MLM-y' to me.

Agree he is the least entertaining of all of the contestants, so I can't imagine how he uses so much energy on 30minutes of dead-eyed yapping at people about menz problems.

'Unfold your freedom' for which he is a 'Top Leader' is an MLM! I just googled.

I only finished watching yesterday, I hadn't heard of the programme, just stumbled upon it last week flicking through netflix. I don't watch much TV at all and have never watched anything like this, I just put it on as background noise and ended up so invested in it!

I don't think Ciara is as bad as the TV are making her out to be. I think they've played up the 'princessy' moments and omitted her actual personable traits and nicer side to her personality to make her come across as a vacuous twat. However she does have some vacuous twat elements to her, her parents are decent working class folk.
I can't help wondering what she sees in Ajay though. He's a nice man but they do not seem well suited, even if the TV has played up her negative traits and played down any of his.

I suspect they've done the same with Jack's bad and good qualities. He's a walking advert for ADHD (as am I, he's something of a male version of me in a lot of the clips of him!) but the main thing that stood out for me about those two as a couple is Faye looks very womanly and almost middle aged next to him. He looks like a wet behind the ears young boy. Faye does seem very insecure though. She seems to feel quite awkward around him and 'not good enough'.

Ryan seems to not have a clue who he is at all (which now I have looked at what his job is, makes sense!) and Sophie does remind me of a young Pammy, as someone else has said albeit without the plastic wangers.

Joseph and Fran, hm not sure. He's lovely and I loved his reaction when he saw her. She's lovely also but I don't see much chemistry between them!

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 03/09/2026 11:32

It has made me realise that living in Gurnsey with men who think they could cheat and get better than Faye is a no from me.

I really liked Ajay - thought he would be a calming influence on her and her tendency to neurotic behaviour (prob due to the cheating exes). Her friends were all very normal so I feel she was clearly put forward as the rich woman with ishoos character.

As I say I was very impressed they found so many men who actually wanted marriage and kids, rather than using the show as a way to pull in girls and punters (Ryan and his MLM being the exception - why anyone would employ someone who needs that much downtime after a presentation and has zero enthusiasm for much is beyond me though).

The last bit is what made it work I think. They had found men (with a few exceptions!) who were absolutely ready to settle down. I am not sure Jack knows what he wants but I hope he does, and Ryan obviously just went on to promote his snake oil, but the rest seemed to be genuine.

Ive come to share my many opinions that no-one asked for

Ryan - i said IMMEDIATELY that he was a charlatan grifter bum and I was proven RIGHT

Ciara is crazy - genuinely - but I love me a crazy woman and I love her

The guy she married - i cant work him out. I thought theyd be divorced but he defended her (i agreed with that tbh, so what shes a drama llama) - dunno

Jack - the definition of failing upwards. Addicted to coke. A beach bum from Cornwall (his words) who has zero career experience and cannot provide for faye 🤔

Faye - 10x out of Jack's league, has low self esteem, will realise this eventually

LOVED Sophie and Taylor - wanna drink prosecco with them on a messy night out up north. They're the new jasmine and her husband from s1 - they'll go the distance

Fran and Joseph - couldnt care less about them tbh, but good for them - i saw a tiktok comment saying that chevanique wanted Joseph to see her and think she was better looking - agree with that tbh

I have this feeling that chevanique being obviously jamaican heritaged was an issue, but thats not for this thread

Tree hugger - wish her the best

Didnt like the dynamic of the friendship between tree hugger, fran and yasmin was off '- fran seemed rude to her

She seemed rude in general tbh, didnt like her

Tree hugger was right about yasmins man though - what a coward 😤

Sorry, I know you said 'not for this thread' but I am intrigued by this!

Why are you referring to Cuba as Tree Hugger?

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 05/09/2026 20:29

I think Chev was there to stir the pot - she was obviously trying to keep him picking her in the pods even when he was clearly going off to Fran. Fran has the calm sense he needs, I feel. I think he has dated a lot of Chev's before and wants calm and a family with someone strong, 100% behind him and not drama filled.

Apologies I forgot her name, lovely as it is

She did love hugging trees though bless her

I dunno, I felt that yasmin was very much the third and francesca the leader

Labelling her 'the michelle' of their destiny's child trio for example

Not warmed to francesca really. She screams mean girl.

That said chevanique 100% thought she was better looking and wanted to see Joseph think it so shes not perfect

(I shouldnt have said the thing about chev being jamaican, i dont want to derail the thread x )

What do you mean by that? What is Joseph and Frans heritage?

ButlerianJihadNow · 06/09/2026 07:42

Fran not sure they said. Joseph's dad is Nigerian, can't remember for his mum.

ChocolateBiscuitsandaCuppa · 08/09/2026 17:45

Got as far as episode 6, and the bit where Jack has just phoned his mum. Am I the only person who thinks Faye doesn't look THAT different to his mum? (I'm aware he wouldn't have known that when he chose her in the pod).

SpanishFly · 15/09/2026 19:41

Im on ep 5, so don't want to read spoilers, but Yas is incredibly beautiful 😍

SpanishFly · 17/09/2026 08:07

I can't help but wonder if the success rate would have been so high if they weren't such good-looking people.

It's better than MAFS where they deliberately stick people who have aversions to certain people or abusive behaviour with each other for drama.

Yeah totally.
But I'm genuinely wondering if the men, who were completely in love with the women behind the screen, saw someone like me when the doors opened - overweight, not glam, no make-up etc - would be so keen to continue with them

MintChocCat · 17/09/2026 12:24

I’ve just seen a post on Instagram that explains how it’s a great career opportunity to participate in Love is Blind, and I can’t help but agree. I’ve always thought that. Now I can’t help but think it’s more of a business opportunity /become an influencer than it is necessarily about finding “the one.”

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 17/09/2026 19:02

Yeah Ryan was deffo on it for the wrong reasons! I think they actually generally found decent men this time though.

mumofoneisonozempic · 17/09/2026 19:12

Definitely not

Honestly I think it's better to just have 'hot' people on - I don't want to see a plus size girl crying because the man just doesn't fancy her 😔

Yes, for sure. But "whoever I meet will be hot" kind of defeats the entire premise of the show
