I also think it was really interesting Tiff said something about not wanting any of it.

I think there’s some more storyline to come out there.

Perhaps with final scene between policewoman and Dennis there will be a love triangle?!

We were watching it only yesterday on demand, I was very disappointed as I hate this sort of cliffhanger endings. I wonder if they are going to make Christmas special out of it.
My version is that Eddie put camera somewhere knowing what kind of people were coming and hoping to get leverage/ blackmailing tool for the future. Police haven’t search the pub yet so Rosa will find it after they left with Dennis.
DH said that it would be fingerprints somewhere and Jackie would have seen these men going out. But I don’t think it would be enough.
I also wonder if Channel 5 haven’t decided how to end it and are waiting for ideas from this thread 🙂

Exactly what I thought.

In fact, as soon as they shoehorned the ‘new batteries’ bit into it, it seemed obvious that the dictaphone was going to record something crucial. And Archie somehow saving the day seems inevitable.

Overall I enjoyed it and hope it returns, but like most was quite disappointed with the last episode. One of the reasons the old Benidorm series was so popular I think, was that it showed the fun in the sun, the Brits abroad. An episode set pretty much entirely in the dingy bar lost that appeal.

Two very likeable lead actors, I particularly like Rosa bringing up things like Hetty Wainthrop Investigates! I thought she was going to be annoyingly bouncy at first, but she’s great. Dennis does need to cheer up a bit though, went a bit overboard on the morose.

Wave to the writers and producers that read forums like this 👋🏼. As your target audience, we think it’s got legs but you need a few tweaks!

Just finished it.
Totally missed the dictaphone clue.
That last episode was wrong, too dark, lost the humour. I can see it was clever but we aren't watching for crime drama, just fun.

The last episode was rated a 15. All the others a 12

The series grew on me as the episodes went on. Did seem terrible to start with but did improve (or I got to like the characters?)

I like Rosa and like her, believe I can solve murders based on all my viewings of other crime programs and think I’ve seen all the episodes she alluded to. So that made me chuckle.

Hope there is another season to find out what happens. Agree with those who mentioned the recording but also think the Spanish detective and Rosa will find a way to get John Hannah out of recording not the answer

The Spanish policewoman definitely showed her feelings towards Dennis as she handcuffed him.
