Yippee - I agree with GOTW!

UrbanSoul · 01/09/2026 20:57

I hope Beth wins.

KnickerlessParsons · 01/09/2026 20:58

For a moment there I thought Anna might be in trouble this week. She was last in the hat challenge and her MTM wasn’t great either.

Hedjwitch · 01/09/2026 20:58

Dont agree with that at all. No spoilers but....someone else should have gone.

I hope Beth wins.

Me too

LilyLemonade · 01/09/2026 21:04

Wow, Beth's MTM was simply stunning.

DemonsRocks · 01/09/2026 21:08

So happy for Beth, her dress was lovely and detailed.

placemats · 01/09/2026 21:09

Wrote down Beth's garment as garment of the week before she finished. Just beautiful and I loved the neckline. Oh my heady days, as Jane Austen's beloved niece Fanny (Frances) would say. I would have expected Jane to be wearing Heather's dress.

That was a tough call. Heather's dress didn't have the the front impact, so off on the jacket. Emma's dress was bad at the back. Close call. Emma was lucky to stay.

I think so too.

I absolutely think they got the correct gotw this week. Gorgeous! I think out of Emma’s and Rebecca’s, both of which were not well executed, Emma’s looked like it would be easy to fix and was wearable. I thought the style of Rebecca’s was dull and unflattering. Difficult call but maybe that is what edged it. I wasn’t a fan of “Gothsten”. I thought it was a bit predictable of Anna. It was better executed than the two at the bottom though

Blueyblueyblue · 01/09/2026 21:48

I thought the right one went.

BestIsWest · 01/09/2026 22:57

Ohhh I’m conflicted.
GOTW was the right choice. I’m not sure the right person went home but I didn’t like what they made. I was half expecting them not to send anyone home.

BestIsWest · 01/09/2026 22:58

Oh and I thought Beth should have won the transformation challenge too.

What has Irish lady done with her hair? ( cannot remember names this year!)

I think it's just growing. I have short hair and from one wash it can suddenly go poof.

placemats · 01/09/2026 23:01

Was anyone surprised that Rebecca burst into tears?

I also thought they might decide not to send anyone home this week - Emma certainly looked surprised to be staying in! I think her performance throughout has been more solid than Rebecca's on balance, which might be what swung it, as there wasn't much in it.

2Rebecca · 01/09/2026 23:47

I think the right person went. Rebecca’s looked frumpy and unflattering. Beautiful dress material but awful if intricate jacket. Glad Anna’s didn’t win. The punk and goth everything is as sticking in her comfort zone as Rebecca’s a bit frumpy everything is sticking in hers. I don’t want dressmakers to show “ their” personality. I want them to show more flexibility and imagination and to look as though they can design for a client’s personality, just like you don’t want a hairdresser to give everyone their trademark hair cut.

deeahgwitch · 02/09/2026 06:43

I thought Beth’s GOW was absolutely beautiful.
She has been very solid throughout the show. Just calmly getting on with her sewing.
I thought Anna’s take on a Jane Austen dress was great. She has such imagination and is very talented.
Does anyone else feel that for Beth, sewing is a hobby, albeit one in which she excels, but for Anna, creatively designing is her passion.
I loved the dress she was wearing - the black with white colour and red tie.
No I wasn’t surprised that Rebecca burst into tears @placemats
She wears her heart on her sleeve.
Were we ever told what her invisible disability was ?

Was that the pleated skirt over one shoulder? I didn't rate that at all. At least Rebecca's looked like a dress you could wear.

Esmé specifically mentioned wanting to see their personality in the MTM challenge.

Stomach issues and ME I think.

2Rebecca · 02/09/2026 08:06

I wonder if they had been told that before though and that isn’t fair on people with more introverted personalities as Esme will usually choose the dramatic over the understated.

Halsall · 02/09/2026 08:23

Rebecca’s jacket was historically correct - it was a spencer, and she’d labelled it as such in her notebook, but they never called it that on air. Unfortunately the pink was a godawful shade, the froggings were too modern-looking, and of course it just didn’t fit.

I know Anna’s not popular on here but she also made a spencer and it was absolutely spot-on - those little puffs at the shoulders were swoon-worthy. The collar and the incredibly fine white cotton shirt underneath were amazing too. The Goth bit I have no interest in, but apart from her disaster with the black net it was very well sewn.

BestIsWest · 02/09/2026 08:28

Patrick did use the word ‘Spencer’. The colour was terrible though.

deeahgwitch · 02/09/2026 08:33

“……….I know Anna’s not popular on here…..” @Halsall posted.
Well I for one think she is really talented.
She is creative and an excellent sewer.
