@Lemonpandas I agree with everything you’ve said about the characters - except Mark, I think he is very mediocre. You are so right that Ross and Vicki are a supporting act for Joel!

And yes, what IS the point of Alfie nowadays. He permanently behaves like he’s in panto (oh yes he does).

I don't mind Kojo but to me he is a 'good background character'. Harry is really good with him in scenes usually.

And you need good background characters..plus he was more on screen with the harry kidnap plot and ravi

I didn't like Mark at first
But bringing grant back and seeing them together grant and mark ..and he grew on me a bit .
Apart from grant and the money marks owes he hasn't really been given a chance to shine by the writers .. totally under used

Mark chasing Lauren is getting on my nerves.
He knows she is like her dad and will give in eventually :(

I was thinking about Lauren, and how she doesn't have much chemistry with Mark. Or Peter. I can't think of anyone she has ever had chemistry with! Maybe Zack, slightly, but that was probably Zack doing the heavy lifting. It's unfortunate this big 'they can't resist each other' is centred on those two.

Oh and Zoe going off to Lynne's a few weeks before her exit - wtf? She has completely lost interest in those twins and there is barely any time left for her exit. Maybe she'll return from Lynne's and be knocked down by the departing taxi 😆

Zoe, death by one of her mum’s cabs ( although I think Kathy runs it now ? Not sure )
Danielle was run over outside the pub! Tiffany as well by Frank butcher ? Someone was!

After months of ‘ my son ‘ now he is in front of her she barely speaks to either of them. I know they are not bothered , but it feels strange that none of them have tried to overcome it all.

Tiffany was run over by Frank who was racing to get back for the New Year bells
Danielle was run over by Janine who was speeding through the streets .

I just watched some classic Eastenders Christmas 2010 , you forget what a bloody fabulous actor Charlie Brooks is . Not just an evil baddie , such emotion and facial expression , not like eye-rolling Jasmine !

Zoe should get run over by an Uber Toyota Pruis , they are silent - she wouldn't hear one if she was shouting
. Katz Kabz are pretty ropey, noisy bangers !

EV’s do make a strange sound don’t they ! Or silent , which I think is a bit-dangerous.
Dh had a courtesy car that was a full EV and the noise it made when the door opened made me jump ! It was so loud. I’m not a fan of them really !

Loved Janine. When she was being outed for doing something over the Christmas Turkey , she calmly asked for the bread sauce whilst Mick n Linda were giving her daggers and it started to kick off! She was the ultimate lady villian.

Bloody loved tonight's episode:

But wth is that Cleo like? A real piece of work...poor Joel. Not wanted by anyone. Doesn't he have any uncles or aunts he can stay with?

Mo proper made me laugh with her S+M gear and cracking the whip 🤣

And I'm sorry but I agree with Vicki the way she spoke to Joel.

Loved how Cleo had a go at everyone and then drove off! She didn’t hang about too long.

I just thought what a selfish bitch she was 😆

Ross was punching being with Cleo.
They should be going back to the authorities really.

Caught up

I was surprised Elaine and Linda allowed Joel to stay at their Boutique Hotel , they know the trouble he caused .
It must be hard for Joel to hear his Mum and Dad arguing over who wasn't going to have him.

Tommy's little face when Zoe said she'd take him to Lynne's was really sweet , he was relieved !

Glad to see Libby has gone .
Zack comes across as a nice bloke but he's really quite predatory , when Vicki was sorting laundry he slid up the sofa to her .And standing there in his pants putting his clothes on.

Ravi is going to get his hands and head to play with going round accusing everyone with a pulse of having a fling with Priya .

Max in the Classic Eastenders is with Vanessa but still in love with Stacey and cornered Janice who was threatening Lauren, looked like he was going to kiss her .
He doesn't change over the years does he ?

Not interested in Harry/Vinny/Penny/Gina/Kojo . They're being portrayed as a lovely close knit gang but it'll hit the fan if Penny gives birth to Harry's baby . I think they're setting them up for a massive fall out.

I wondered if Joel was actually allowed to return to live amongst his victims. Surely they would have to tell social services/probation service.

@Southeastdweller said earlier that the actress playing Cleo is Max Murray's aunt, I thought she did a great job, she was very convincing in the few scenes she had.

70s I agree that all the cosy scenes with Gina/Harry/Penny/Vinny are because they will have a massive fall out when it is clearly not Vinny's baby.

I used to like Gina , but she is now just gurning too much and it’s all a bit hammy. I suppose that Harry will want to be a dad and Gina won’t want children and Nic will persuade him to go for custody or something like that. Yet another couple unhappy! Plus Penny will be cut off by Vinny and Suki. She won’t waste time punishing her. It’s going to be full on.

Penny’s baby must be the one at Jack and Jacks NYD.
As if they don’t have enough going on.

Linda has two small children with her at the b and b.
Surely Joel couldnt live there even with his dad around ?

Was it ever shown he is a threat to young children ?
Not as far as I remember .

80s, Gina is just too happy isn't she!

The manosphere is hostile to women and girls, so it doesn't make sense for Joel to be at the b&b owned by two women with a young girl living there. But... plot reasons.

No, but Joel did persuade Avani to sleep with him and shared that video around and beat up his step mum. He hasn’t done anything to small children , but his record is nt great with women. I admit im
hazy with the law and he is with his dad , but it must be a concern if nothing else. I appreciate its plot reasons too of course.

I think what he was convicted of re Avani (a child) would mean in real life he wouldn’t be allowed to live near her after his release.

The Peacock Boutique Hotel would need to consider the safety of their other guests - potential or actual .
Ross should've taken Joel right out of Walford - I mean it's not as if the Peacock is the only hotel in East London.

If Joel was living in Cornwell which would've been discussed in his Probation post release then he wouldn't have been anywhere near Vikki or Avani . But how did that even get green lighted if Cleo's OH have a young daughter ?
He would have restrictions but I guess they need the character of Joel back .
Wonder if he'll lock horns with Jasmine ?
