That is tomorrow's episode. Then there is one on Friday too!

Sorry but I'm finding Denise unbearable now.

The storyline has literally only just started and not had all that much screen time.. this is quite insensitive to people who can relate.

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 15/07/2026 23:07

I’ve enjoyed this week, I think it because last week was so awful with the Bea storyline that this week looks like Shakespeare.

The only bit I wanted to throw the tv remote at the tv for was the Jean and Alfie scene with the football, it went on far too long.

Shellingbynight · 15/07/2026 21:58

It's true that the rest of her family barely have a brain cell between them!

Absolutely!

And no we don't know where Ravi is getting his money do we. He was able to buy the gym at the drop of a hat, fancy car, presumably that is his old drug money he had stashed away? He wouldn't answer Priya's question and he certainly doesn't have any legit money.

There was some money stashed away because someone approached Priya asking for it, maybe Mark when he was trying to raise 20k to save his life.. she didn’t know where it was so it’s likely that’s what Ravi really came back to get when they ended up in bed and he ditched again. That’s how I would write it anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Sorry but I'm finding Denise unbearable now.

Why.. her acting is great

Shellingbynight · 16/07/2026 08:22

@MyWildOliveGoose yes Ravi must have retrieved his cash on that visit, as he already had the fancy car didn't he. How on earth does he think he's going to win Priya back when it's clear he is still using dodgy drug money.

I hope this is leading to the end of Ravi, there is nothing left to save now really.

the80sweregreat · 16/07/2026 08:25

Ravi’s money must be dirty money. A boxing gym in
the east end even with a partner must be thousands.
It all happened overnight too.

MyWildOliveGoose · 16/07/2026 08:58

I honestly LOVE how Oscar calls Ian ‘Brian’ it makes me laugh out loud every time.

the80sweregreat · 16/07/2026 09:01

I wonder why Brian ? I suppose it’s IAN in that name , but it is funny.

MadisonAvenue · 16/07/2026 09:13

The Brian thing is so funny, loved when Ian said that he thought Oscar had done barbecues before and Oscar explained that he’d only said that he’d set light to things before 😂

I see Zoe’s off to Lynne’s again.

Shame Cleo isn’t sticking around for longer, she could ruffle a few feathers.

Urgentbiscuitrequired · 16/07/2026 09:20

This week has been good and I'm glad they are doing a realistic portrayal of cancer and delving into the emotional and physical toll properly. I get that some cancers are caught early and outcomes are positive, but I have had family members with leukamia and another cancer that is typically diagnosed far too late due to a lack of screening programme (our cancer stats are shockingly bad compared to other countries) and for many of us, it isn't a good outcome.

Is Laura Doddington really leaving? Wonder why?

Sorry I got this wrong. Although she is a really unpleasant character the actress is really good, so I'm glad she is staying.

Oh that was just so funny! I actually quite like the duo of Ian and Oscar, they really bring out the best of each others characters.

the80sweregreat · 16/07/2026 09:49

Sounds fun today then. Makes a change. Need cheering up a bit !

Leftrightleft · 16/07/2026 09:51

Ian and Oscar have always worked well together. Oscar seemed to be back on form in todays episode, the bit about Mark and his hose, it must be because he is steering clear of the twins. I do like the Branning/Beale get togethers, they always work well.
Cleo was good casting, Joel looks just like her!

Southeastdweller · 16/07/2026 09:54

That’s Max Murray’s aunt playing Cleo.

I can’t decide if Joel actually seems sorry, he’s such a good actor and gives nothing away.. but one thing I will say is that I don’t like the writing around the adults. I know Vicky is angry and upset etc but Joel is still a child and in the real world when children are groomed by gangs or organisations like the manosphere - the adults around them, get them help. The whole scene of her having a go at him and threatening him should have been left well alone and ruined it for me.

thisoldcity · 16/07/2026 10:04

Shellingbynight · 15/07/2026 21:17

Easties yes Libby leaves soon, back for new year.

Ravi trying to teach Mark how to be a better crook😂I used to like Ravi despite all his faults, but I can't stand him now. Wadey has managed to ruin him.

I thought Diane Parish was brilliant today, I loved her scenes especially the resolution when she summed up Sheila so well. And the scene where Jack walked into the bedroom was excruciating, when he totally failed to hide his reaction to how Denise looks. I was so sad for her.

I can't see the point in the Sheila plot, other than to give characters 'something to do' and so Wadey could say 'look here's Evil Gray again'. It will go nowhere.

I agree about Jack's reaction - it was so hard to watch because it was a genuine reaction from him, he obviously hadn't prepared himself at all. I think that's realistic and somehow a lot of the cancer storyline things seem very authentic, which gives the actors something to really get their teeth into. Also the way Dee would probably have preferred her house to look a mess, because it would demonstrate they need her - they'd done such a good job cleaning as well but it was still wrong. Makes you empathise, definitely. It was like her seeing the future maybe.

I also loved Ravi's chat with Mark!

I'm very glad Dee gave Sheila her marching orders, showing she's in charge of that family.

MadisonAvenue · 16/07/2026 10:50

Max Murray has actually got me feeling sorry for Joel, couldn’t wait for him to leave a few months ago because I detested him.

Alucard55 · 16/07/2026 11:33

SnowFrogJelly · 16/07/2026 01:24

Why.. her acting is great

I'll get it in the neck but I disagree. I don't know if it's the writing but I think her acting is really poor.

Alucard55 · 16/07/2026 11:36

MyWildOliveGoose · 15/07/2026 23:07

People can relate to all sorts of things. It's a soap opera and my opinion is that the writers are not doing a good job with this and that DP is coming across as irritating.

As I say I know I'll get it in the neck now.

the80sweregreat · 16/07/2026 12:23

They have Denise as a new kind of matriarch. Lou Beale was the ultimate one.

the80sweregreat · 16/07/2026 12:27

The Beale house and kitchen looked different today
new kitchen ?

Eastie77Returns · 16/07/2026 12:29

I think it’s fine to not find an ‘emotive’ storyline moving or think that the actress is not doing a great job. There are lots of storylines people can relate to, we don’t all have to feel they are handled well. Personally I think Diane Parrish is doing a great job but you I have no issue with you thinking otherwise @Alucard55

I was completely unmoved by Yolande’s supposedly harrowing storyline when she was assaulted by the Pastor. Other people said they were in tears, she is such a wonderful actress. I find her incredibly irritating, miserable and the constant bible quotes annoy me.

Southeastdweller · 16/07/2026 12:36

Completely agree @Shellingbynight

I know a lot of people here thought the actress who played Karen was great but all I saw was her Acting and Acting poorly (often but not always) and I’m glad she was axed.

ETA agree with @Eastie77Returns
