Spoiler from Facebook, I will riot if Jack cheats on Denise.. what terrible writing, I know he’s not been the best husband at times - but cheating on his wife whilst she battles cancer isn’t in Jack at all. Hopefully it’ll be a bit like the temptation Peter faced recently and will fizzle out just as quickly and be a pointless storyline.
“Jack Branning and Denise Fox's relationship is pushed to the brink on EastEnders next week – and Jack is later spotted getting cosy with a mysterious woman.
The couple are struggling to communicate as they each cope with the impact of Denise's leukaemia. But as their latest quarrel comes to a head, Jack may take comfort in the arms of another…
"Jack has been Denise's rock throughout her cancer ordeal so far," explains our Walford insider. "But the heartbreaking situation is really beginning to take its toll on this beloved couple.
"As a dramatic row erupts, Jack storms out – but what is he doing with a lady in the Vic, and why is her hand on his knee?"
Since Denise completed her initial course of treatment, she and Jack have found it tricky to tell each other how they're truly feeling, and it's led to rising tensions at No. 27. Next week, Denise continues struggling to open up to her partner, and relations are strained between the pair.
When she gets to the hospital for further treatment, Denise has a change of heart and realises she needs to be totally honest with Jack. But meanwhile, Jack is dealing with a difficult situation of his own…
"Jack is told that he's being given compassionate leave at work, and he's devastated," reveals our spy. "His job has been a much-needed distraction during Denise's illness, so to have this taken away is a massive blow.
"With his colleague Craig confirmed to be taking over his current case, Jack feels left out in the cold."
With Denise and Jack's problems raging on, Phil Mitchell steps up and gives Jack some advice about what to do next. Denise also gets some much-needed clarity, and she finally confides in her partner all about her friend's recent death.
But what could be a loving moment soon turns into more conflict, as Jack once again fails to confront his own emotions. As a dramatic argument unfolds, Jack walks away…
"With Jack and Denise totally fractured, what happens next is yet to be revealed," teases our spy. "But Jack is pictured in the pub with a woman called Rita, and over a couple of drinks, the pair are looking rather close. Could Jack be about to make a huge mistake?"
Later, Denise and Jack finally decide to have the chat that they've been putting off, and thankfully get their relationship back on track. They don't have much chance to reconcile though, as Jack gets word that Joel Marshall has been attacked.
But is Jack hiding a major betrayal from Denise, or was his meeting with Rita about something else entirely?
