Ian has a perfectly good house 20 steps away , he can rustle up a cup of tea and a biscuit . But no , the ins and outs are thrashed out in a public place , with music where Gray's grandmother (who is herself a retired lawyer) is sitting with her phone on to record the meeting .

The technology in the Square allows pinpoint precision in a noisy food emporium , but cannot pick up a gruesome murder on the only CCTV in the village .

It’s a pity as I googled photos of the cat and it’s happily being cat-handled by various Slater/Branning relatives so it should stay a beloved family pet. It will miss Zoe when she’s gone. I can’t see Kat somehow being loving towards her despite her name.

Not a bad episode, although Denise is doing that thing they all do, pretend it’s all fine.
They do have a big family don’t they and that’s not including Yolande and Patrick.
i wonder how much the gym is worth for a share and Ravi will recognize those keys eventually I am guessing.
Not huge sympathy for Ian , but he wasn’t totally to blame but goes to show that one mistake can be brutal.
Especially as they could have walked home.

Just spotted Keegan in season 2 of The Pitt..

Speaking of spotting people, I'm watching the second of two C5 dramas with Jo Joyner. Little Disasters was on a couple of weeks ago and I'm and now watching Riptide. She has had masses of work after leaving EastEnders. She's very good - very 'relatable'.

With technology in cars these days it shows up a figure behind you (even though Ian was saying it was a rubbish bag I think). The outcome will go either way, he’ll get put in prison (cue lots of visits from faaahhhmily) but out with good behaviour, he’ll get a suspended sentence or he’ll get off scot free. Either of these outcomes will have Brannings/Trumans/Foxes baying for blood and treating Ian and his family like a pariah forevermore. Ian’s not that well liked historically. He could give Jordan (via Chelsea) a payout. If Gray finds out and gets out that’ll be another one after Ian and with his record Ian had better watch his back. I bet EE are making notes now.

Jasmine’s jewellery stall idea is ridiculous. As if she’d make a living off that. Little Mo (the cat) would do a better job selling off rodents she’s caught. I did like Jasmine and Jazz hands sticking up for Zoe. Sharon’s ridiculous throwing a glass of water over Zoe but I can see why she did it. I’m actually not a huge fan of Sharon though she’s a stalwart of the square. I did like the scene when the Vic blew up and Angie came back in a dream sequence to speak to Sharon, touching.

I liked Jo Joyner as Tanya. She is a very natural actress , apart from messing up the live episode once, she was good.
Zoe trying to say sorry , Sharon mentioned her dying or something? I can’t recall what she said now.
zac is back too , so he’ll be hanging around Vicki ;(
Sharon had a few affairs , so she shouldn’t be too
judgmental really !

Angie as a ghost last year was epic. Ian , Sharon and Angie on the end credits for the 40th anniversary.

She is one of my all time favourite actresses.. no matter what she does, she channels the character and executes it powerfully.

Spoiler on TikTok says Kat and Alfie are both leaving by the end of the year.. Jessie Wallace has unfollowed Ben Wadey on IG too.. if I was right in January about them not having the vic in the flash forward from a ‘feeling’ I will genuinely do the lottery NYE 🤣

In terms of actors leaving a soap they’ve been in for years, I wonder if there’s a positive correlation with being professional on set and getting lots of acting work, after they leave the soap?

With the new producer it was all about Kat and Alfie wasn’t it. They must have fallen out big time to be leaving.
Maybe they will go off to Spain to run a bar there, can’t face being around once Zoe is gone.
They may return. Producers come and go.

@Southeastdweller yes, I'm sure you get a reputation if you are not easy to work with, and hardworking! But you need to be a decent actor too, the successful ex soapers like Sarah Lancashire, Suranne Jones, Jo Joyner, Lindsey Coulson, are all very talented.

I wonder if Phil will be doing panto too, he usually does. They seem to be able to work around it though so that they are not off screen for too long. Phil still managed to feature in the Nigel storyline on and off.

Exactly! Sharon has been out with/married/cheated on both Mitchell brothers, and the rest yet she always comes up smelling of roses.

I also like Jo Joyner and I miss Tanya. She was a good character and the dynamic with Max was great.

Poor Denise 😞

I don’t understand why they’re all stressing about hiding that Sheila is paying for Jordan’s physio from Denise and now Jack going mad about Denise ‘needing to know’. It’s not something they should even be considering bothering her with right now. She’s received a very serious diagnosis and just had gruelling treatment. Just don’t bloody mention Sheila and let the women focus on what’s important!

Cindy saying Max is ‘asset rich with properties abroad’ and should buy half the gym was a bit of reach, unless he’s spun her some lies I missed? Because he was on his arse and living in a b&b until very recently 🤔

Do they deliberately dress Zoe awfully? That brown maxi dress with clumpy black shoes today was nearly as bad as the jumper of doom.

Ian & E-Laine make me cringe but also sort of work together. Do we know if Ian gets banged up or not? Are they going to drag it out for months?

Yep, Max is so ‘ asset rich ‘ he had to go to the b and b to live. He did buy the car lot , I remember us all saying that he must have money to do that. Properties abroad? Sounds like porkies to me! Did he meet Zoe in Spain though ? Maybe he has something there , but seems unlikely.

Wardrobe go through the clothes to deliberately find the worst ones for Zoe! They all have it in for her
