Oh love Lacey, I think she'll be good. Delta and Dani are fine and I imagine will be good too. It was a guarantee Dani would be back.

I have heard of him. I think he brought color wow products to the UK. He does JLo’s hair and Kim Kardashian’s hair too. He is British but lives in LA now.

Haven’t heard of the hairdresser which probably means he’ll turn out to be my favourite ! 😆

Do we know why we got a few names much earlier than usual then nothing? I didn't see any of the actual reveals so was anything said? When can we expect more names?

It is quite odd @KitchenColourandstyle normally you would expect names at end of July so I would expect more soon

Either that or it's going to be a really short run this year - straight to the final!

I assumed they were trying to get ahead of leaks? It's really odd though, to announce a few random names and then nothing, especially as none of them are particularly big names.

Cach Mercer has been announced as the next celebrity.

I don't know anything else about him, but a quick Google says he's the Love Island champion from last year.

Oh dear. I know how popular Love Island is in the UK but it just feels like a low rent choice.

Never heard of him, I never have heard of the reality stars and Internet famous types but I know that that doesn't mean they aren't worthy of a place on Strictly. However, a quick Google tells me he is a professional dancer. So we can expect him to make it to the final after umpteen dance offs.

Yes and the ringers always end up getting loads of negative comments on socials due to having experience @NoCommentingFromNowOn this then leads to accusations of bullying and chancing for the sympathy vote. Well worn storyline.

We (the viewers) get to see some fabulous dances of course, but I’d rather have a bunch of non dancers competing and have some champion Rumba dancers or similar, like we used to have in the olden days, when there were no dance floors, only fields.

Yes! @NoCommentingFromNowOn when you’d get guest dancers doing a showcase such as Vincent and Flavia before they became pros. I’d rather all non dancers too. It should be about learning a skill

Love Island is not as popular as ITV tells the advertisers it is. Maybe a couple of years ago it had a peak, but those days are well over. Bad enough we have 1 contestant (Dani), now we have 2.

This season feels like a version that the Production Company would tour around Butlin’s.

I don’t watch Love Island @ExtraOnions but a podcast I listen to recently called it one of the biggest shows in the world because it’s now caught on in the States. Yes, so far I’m very underwhelmed by this years cohort, but plenty more names to come!

I still miss the days when they used to wheel out the show dance (aka being thrown in the air) champions in the semi final and tell the celebs they would have to do that in the final. The looks of sheer terror were excellent.

The franchise “Love Island” maybe, but the UK one has had a declining number if viewer in recent years. The U.S version seems to have traction in the U.S.
