Well, I really enjoyed that episode, not necessarily for the right reasons. It was like Masterchef on steroids or watching a parody. International cast of cooks! So many people/personalities on plates! So many grannies! So much jaw! Judges outdoing all former efforts at stating the obvious! Especially Anna. So many tiny plates!
I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel hobbled by pedestrian antecents. I do have a Scandi great grandmother (don't we all?) but some distant woman mistaking Gothenburg for Glasgow hardly counts. Makes her seem a bit dim, really. And I'm sadly deficient in the Granny area. One upped and died before I was even born and far from dotingly teaching me to cook, the other one sat in a corner, taking snuff and glowering at me.
The contestants seemed like a fair bunch. Why was Mukkul looking so repressive? Did he expect to be the exotic cook, only to be upstaged (as were they all) by Amazon lady and her headdress? Plus, she could cook which seemed a bit unfair, given all her other advantages.
Finn definitely crossed a line when he said he didn't want to leave the process because he wanted to put everything in his head on a plate. The three visiting judges dodged a bullet there and must have been relieved that Finn was sent packing to the safe succour of his partner's Portuguese pantry. I know I was.
I remember and like all three visiting judges. The former is rare and the latter rarer still, but who was Pooki channelling? I expected her to hand them all their hire car keys.
Looking forward to be present tomorrow night. Nobody better phone me.

We are headed off to Scotland tomorrow morning and I'm still packing, mixed weather forecast so bonkers amount of everything, especially as DD1 is flying in from USA tomorrow and hopping on a plane up to rendezvous in Glasgow, so I've got things like her hiking boots etc too. Quite an isolated spot so a ton of food packing as well. It is DH's 60th birthday next week, I tried to get the restaurant I've booked to bake a birthday cake but they weren't keen, and actually I'd rather have the choice of their yummy puddings, but it means I've also packed everything I need to bake a cake. You never know what you''ll find at holiday cottages, so I've packed sponge tins, scales, beaters, greaseproof paper the lot.

Anyway that's a long way of saying I'm watching early on player while eating supper.

No spoilers but I hope you don't mind me saying

2. Early on there's a massive what I think is a big cheat, I'm a bit scandalised. Look forward to reading comments later.
