Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon. Smile

and flying off to his secret island hide out

but stopping off at Turkey first to get his teeth updated.

Did Todd say he'd forgotten his phone to the taxi driver? Why did he go back to the flat for whatever it was when he'd been living at George's?

I wonder if Antny Polyester has something on the powers that be at Corrie, he doesn't get a good name in RL.

eggandonion · 28/04/2026 11:51

Todd needed his phone because his plane ticket is on it. I hate having to have the plane ticket on my phone.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 28/04/2026 11:56

But why was his phone in the flat? Surely he would have had it with him at all times, or near enough, whilst living at George's.

And the suitcase was there for Theo to kick but he'd only had a backpack with him in the taxi. Are there inconsistencies or do I need to give the telly my full attention??

The producers just lack imagination so keep on the likes of Kirk and Sean to do odd cameos and reel out the cliches.

They are like old bands who had a few hits back in the day and live off them for decades

I think it’s because Todd & George fled the flat after locking Theo in the bathroom (unsuccessfully as it happened). Todd left everything there that he was preparing for his trip - suitcase, phone etc. When they ran back to George’s (Eileen’s!) and sat on stairs, George said Todd could grab a bag from upstairs and borrow what he needed to take as he needed to get going. That’s why Todd had just a hold-all and presumably not his phone.

Regarding the “victim” - isn’t the coffin we’ve seen in the back of George’s hearse? If Theo is the dead’un, I don’t think George would do the funeral so by my reckoning, he’s out of the dead pool!

Just watched tonight's. It's a good one. 👍 Will chat about it later!

Some hilarious comments on here re: Toyah, and Theo/Todd/The Taxi driver being Theo - or the Airline Pilot! 😆

Gary being caught van smashing on CCTV means that something will happen to Theo and Gary will be blamed

I wonder if George being in the trailer is actually a clue.

eggandonion · 28/04/2026 13:22

Gary had better not be blamed.
George isn't in a financial position to turn away any work. Who would pay for Theos funeral? Did he go to visit parents?

Wasn't Todd in the taxi with no luggage before he went to the flat though? Maybe ill rewatch it!

That’s a good point who would pay? And George would deffo not do it Christina wouldn’t let him either. I’m thinking it’s Megan Trainer and the kids mum Mel is the killer it’s got to be someone who is leaving the soap as they would get a long time for murder I mean look at David and Shona’s boys ! We haven’t seen them in yonks! God help baby Harpur with both bros being locked up! I reckon Mel has suddenly been brought in for a reason

DreamyJade · 28/04/2026 10:48

That made me lol. You can imagine the shot. You would see him sitting in the cockpit from behind. He’d look over his shoulder, tip his hat, wink, and say “Yarlright cocker!” to the camera, before adopting his evil face and pulling back his throttle.

🤣🤣to the tune of Jess Glenn’s “Hold my hand”!!

I thought this too.

So he was caught on CCTV smashing his van up and also text him to say 'I'm coming for you'. So automatically the finger will be pointed at Gary if Theo is the one who gets killed.

I really enjoyed tonight's. Sean was dreadful.

It actually baffles me that Sean is such a long-running character. Anthony Cotton is a shocking actor! Last night's "drunk" scene was terrible!

He was brought in over twenty years ago after playing a very similar character in Queer As Folk. I thought he was a decent actor back then but he has slowly morphed into this ridiculous character who churns out the same cliches. The only time I like him is when he shares screen time with Dylan but they do not want to seem to go there any more.

I read an article years ago that implies that AC was called in to get the sack (when they were doing a cast cull) & cried, begged & pleaded so hard that they didn’t go through with it. No idea if it’s true but I could well believe it.

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/04/2026 15:37

AC was in the final year at my school when I was in the 1st year, and it is testament to HOW dramatic he is as a person (or at least was as a teenager!) that I remember him, as I do not remember anyone else that much older than me from school! So much flouncing.

I don’t think it was a clue at all, just a reminder that someone is about to die.

1reason · 28/04/2026 18:04

Just watched tonight's episode. Not as good as Theo's episode last night and actually ound it boring, apart from the final 3 minutes!
We have been fed the same panto villain type of stories for months.
I think the trailer featuring George and the hearse with the 5 potential murder victims is just advertising and does not imply who is involved.

Myrealnameisbetty · 27/04/2026 23:46

Yes I thought so too for a moment that the cab driver was Theo. Todd in the back seat appearing to feel safe at last seemed too good to be true. It WAS too good to be true and now we have to wait again while the story creeps closer to it's finale.

Can't wait 🙄

Yes so did I

Gingercar · 28/04/2026 18:15

They missed a trick not having Theo as the cab driver!

TheHillIsMine · 28/04/2026 18:16

The way Todd looked at Theo after getting out of the taxi, made me think he'd got out to go back to him. 😟

No! Surely not. I can't believe Todd has a death wish. 😱
