Two could easily have gone today. Maddie seems almost proud she cannot keep to time, most contestants see it as something to overcome.

I've never seen her before, and already (10 minutes into ep 1, watched on i player tonight) her eye thingy is driving me NUTS!

perhpas each contestant should get banded into groups / percentage scores then take (or similar ratings) and then once all 48 have done 1st 2 tasks they take top 16 or whatever ?

I thought the same at first but then also thought that most vegetarians won’t eat the meat part of a meal, so why shouldn’t they just taste the vegetarian parts? So in that respect a) she hadn’t sold out and b) it’s true to life.

Grace isn’t a natural presenter. It felt forced.

Hmm yes, I think that’s fine if she’s going to a restaurant for dinner, but she’s one of three past contestants brought in specifically to taste and comment on the dishes this year’s victims contestants cook.

If I’d been busting a gut to get out two courses in an hour and 20, or however long they give them, I’d feel pretty pissed off that one of those three ostentatiously wouldn’t touch a large part of my dish - which anyway is a balance of all the ingredients. There are dozens of past contestants they could have chosen from so it seemed odd to pick her - to me, anyway.

Just been reminded that I'm out tonight so will have to catch up later. When you say you really dislike birthdays, why don't people listen? I'm not ungrateful - just.....not very thankful. Also in a bad mood because I was recording "This Life" and all I got was bloody SNOOKER!
