It seems pretty good so far, Gilead through a Young Adult gaze.

Anyone watching ?

I can't wait until the next season now!

Aslockton · 28/05/2026 18:46

Very Putin-esque.

Paula's reaction was because Agnes is damaged goods now and won't have another decent offer of marriage. She's gone from being engaged to a top commander to basically a reject and this ruined Paula's social standing.
I thought the Agnes/Hannah reveal was cheap. Early in the series someone mentioned that June had been waiting for a girl of Daisy's age. Obviously to try to infiltrate Agnes' life I assumed, otherwise why? And why wouldn't June know which area Daisy was deployed to? It was a contrivance to have her find out that way.

I thought it was a bit odd and also they could have changed her age presumably but I love that June got to hear about Hannah.

Why did Garth lock the door on Becca- for her safety or to imprison her?

I took it that he’s a bit scared of her. She’s clearly not rational.

VivienneDelacroix · 29/05/2026 11:42

I think he locked her in to keep her safe. She's drugged up and could wander in the night.

Probably so he didn't get stabbed by Becca.

I have absolutely loved this series. I'm hoping it's back story to the book.
Agnes being ruined fits and Nicole being in Canada would too.
Poor Becca and her mother so sad 😞
Paula will definitely want a Handmaid now so she can have a child to bring up as she wishes.
Love that Agnes remembers she is Hannah and has started to think differently.
I haven't read the article above but I might do, I don't mind a spoiler and I have read the books.
S2 can't come soon enough

I saw this interview with the Testaments creator / showrunner: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/the-testaments-finale-creator-promises-june-hannah-reunion-1236606878/

He is talking about the direction he wants the show to go to, so there are probably spoilers.

He pointed it out that June had a pair of little boots by her front door. Nicole lives with her.

I haven't read this yet but if you're interested in interviews, Eyes on Screen has a few interviews including with cast and the show runner.

I'm settling in for my second watch of this episode after listening to the podcast.

Just listened to The Testaments on audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very confusing though following the TV series and the book at the same time. It's going to be very interesting where the TV series goes next...

It seemed very easy for them to get Daisy out in the honey van, just makes me wonder why they couldn’t just do the same with Hannah to get her out? She’s allowed to wander out into the garden at night so would be just as easy

Not if she kicks and screams because she doesn't know who the hell is trying to kidnap her. That's what June was saying to Daisy in the last episode.

Why would Hannah want to leave? Gilead is all she remembers.

Chocolatecoffeecup · 30/05/2026 16:54

Exactly. She's been taught that mayday are terrorists.

Chocolatecoffeecup · 03/06/2026 13:30

I'm missing The Testaments! I got excited earlier, thinking it's new episode day, then realised it isn't! On the plus side there is an eyes on screen podcast episode.

Any other tv show recommendations, please send them my way! I've started a few series but nothing for a while that's hooked me like the testaments.

Off Campus was light-hearted and warm. Perfect for resting.

I loved Rooster as well with Steve Carrell, so perhaps I want to go back to uni 😳

Chocolatecoffeecup · 03/06/2026 19:57

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit Thanks! I've actually been watching Beef today actually and it's not bad.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 03/06/2026 20:09
