The first part of my message related to the idea that Agnes was 14 - I was talking through reasons why the girls might be starting their periods later than that eg at 16.

Ah yes that makes sense Foxy. Yes I thought they were older and getting their periods later until I googled it.

Well that was unexpected!! Brilliant episode but menarche is a word I've only ever read, never heard, so the pronunciation really threw me.

It absolutely was the reason. She had resolved to help Agnes and Hulda get their restibrution and timing meant she had the perfect way to do this.

DS didn't know what it meant and I've very rarely heard it.

Great ending! Cemented the fact that Daisy isn’t June’s daughter when she said ‘the same age as you?’ Then later children playing in the background near her made me wonder if she was with Nicole. I was surprised she hadn’t realised that Daisy would end up at Agnes’ school.

Im glad they kept Becka alive!

Loved Daisy standing up to absolutely everyone too! She is fantastic

I think it's nice that Weston helped Agnes but wonder what his motivations were? I had a feeling he'd call off the engagement (because shes been touched by another man?) but then why offer to help. Maybe to soften the blow?

Paula's reaction to it all seemed OTT but maybe I'm misunderstanding?

Poor Becka! To lose her mother at this point and her poor mother as well.

I like Garth. He seems like he'll be kind to Becka.

Love that we got to see June and she got to hear about Hannah. I was also surprised she didn't realise they were together. It seemed like amazing massive coincidence tbh! It made me cry though. The way she stopped when she heard Daisy mention Anges. And then Agnes had the picture with her name on!

Not sure what to make of the kiss. It seems Agnes would have some freedom to visit her Becka and Garth but then that makes some weird triangle...

I’ve just read that Garth could be Nick & Rose’s son! Would that fit in with the timeline or would he be too young? Garth is mimicking Nick in so many ways.

Nick and Rose's son would be younger than Nicole so probably about ten

Paula's reaction was because Agnes is damaged goods now and won't have another decent offer of marriage. She's gone from being engaged to a top commander to basically a reject and this ruined Paula's social standing.
I thought the Agnes/Hannah reveal was cheap. Early in the series someone mentioned that June had been waiting for a girl of Daisy's age. Obviously to try to infiltrate Agnes' life I assumed, otherwise why? And why wouldn't June know which area Daisy was deployed to? It was a contrivance to have her find out that way.

In the book yes, they have changed the story for the show

No Garth isn't Nick's son. We saw Garth's father few episodes back. He was in a wheelchair after a poisoning in the past.
