That woman extolling breast feeding. I forget her name.

Ah yes the breast feeding journey

What on MC blimey

ShamedBySiri · 24/03/2026 22:06

Will there be half an hour of tear jerking biographies first?
Will we get to see some or all of Luke’s kids?

I tried to Google for a pic and Google has failed me. It was fairly recent though.

We’ve already seen them - a photo round dinner table

it’s kind of spoilt it to see so many pics all the way along..

Villanousvillans · 24/03/2026 22:52

This playing around with food has gone way too far. That bowl of fishy stuff kept reminding me of a bowl of vomit. Sorry.

It was Hazel. She had a baby called Halo….

Hazel on 2025 MC episode 20. Sadly, I can't find an image of the completed dessert!

gmgnts · 25/03/2026 09:36

Now with photo of Hazel!

Now we've got to the final I thought I'd join in rather than enjoy your messages alongside the programme - thanks for the fun. My hope is that Luke wins, he has been the most consistent, he works quietly and takes things on board, how can someone be so calm in that environment! But saying that Gareth is such a love and I don't understand why you all don't like him 😂 😂, he seems genuinely shocked to still be there and so grateful that he is and he's clearly very talented. I thought his minimalist plate the other night was inspired. I have nothing against Mark but I'm hopeful it'll be Luke or Gareth (hope I haven't jinxed it!). Not that I could ever afford it but I am more convinced than ever that I can live without paying ££££££s for a 10 course "taster" menu thank you very much 🙄

likelysuspect · 25/03/2026 10:17

I havent read a lot of the posts in this thread, I didnt know Gareth wasnt liked?

He's my favourite, hes quite humble and quietly spoken and really inventive.

Why dont people like him?

burblish · 25/03/2026 10:47

I like Gareth - seems like a decent bloke and he must have very good instincts indeed to have got this far when he is entirely self-taught rather than being a formally trained chef.

Cookingdoesntgettougher · 25/03/2026 10:47

I like all the three left so would not mind any winning

ShamedBySiri · 25/03/2026 13:37

I’m a Gareth fan too. As well as Luke. And also like Mark! I feel Mark’s style isn’t really farty tiny bites of stuff decorated with tweezered herbs and flowers. He has an established restaurant reported to be very excellent up thread. So I think if he wins it will be by going against his principles and style. Would still be happy if he won and I’m not saying he’s not deserving but I don’t think it’s really him.

ShamedBySiri · 25/03/2026 13:44

I was thinking about the diaphragm, which I’ve never heard of anyone eating before. I always assumed it was some sort of sinewy fibrous sheath but I suppose it makes sense that it’s lean muscle - it spends your life going up and down to make your lungs work!
I hope it doesn’t become a fashionable cut, I still don’t much fancy it.

bungobungobungo · 25/03/2026 14:27

@Whylurkwhenicanjoinin I’m with you on that.

bungobungobungo · 25/03/2026 14:30

@ShamedBySiriI really like all 3 of them and don’t mind who wins. Anyone know when the final is?

I really like him. He's willing to learn and to push himself, clearly has broad culinary knowledge and talent. Being a private chef is hard work. When he was first on, he seemed a little aloof, but I think that was nerves and a touch of imposter syndrome. He's not arrogant. It looked as though he got what cooking the mountain man was aiming for too in Italy.

Halsall · 25/03/2026 14:50

@bungobungobungo it’s tomorrow at 8.

I’ll probably start a new thread for the final, otherwise we’ll end up running out and having to switch over at an awkward stage - what say you all, Chuffians?

Thank you @Halsall don’t know why I didn’t see that!

lettingthedaysgoby · 25/03/2026 21:03

I've just realised this no jeopardy trip to a wanky foreign restaurant with a stellar chef is a sort of prize for the finalists (and a jolly for the presenters) rather than part of the competition

Good idea, I might need to harrumph if half of it is about their family. Just looked and last year first 16 minutes was that so I might come on a bit later. I can keep an eye out here and see if they change the format.
