new 6 part series stars Eve Myles (https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/lifestyle/a65948077/best-eve-myles-dramas/) (Keeping Faith) as gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy, who's investigating the mysterious disappearance of Bristol woman, Sarah.

And the chilling twist is that Detective Cassidy’s main suspect is Sarah’s husband, Headmaster Michael Polly, who's played by none other than Sherwood's David Morrissey. Genius casting indeed!

Gone is a chilling mystery focusing on local Headmaster Michael Polly, played by David Morrissey (The Long Shadow, Sherwood), who becomes the prime suspect in his wife Sarah’s disappearance.

An upstanding member of the community, Michael Polly is inscrutable and likes order and precision in his working life.

Until, that is, he encounters super bright, gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy, played by Eve Myles (The Crow Girl, Hijack) and a compulsive game of cat and mouse begins as she chips away at his veneer in search of the truth.

Beneath the surface of the mystery, lies a deeper exploration of trauma, trust and the legacy of elite institutions.

The series also stars Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barratt, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham and Clare Higgins.

“As brilliant as Keeping Faith”: 9 of the best Eve Myles dramas to watch now on ITV, the BBC, Netflix and more

It probably wasn't any of the men. How about his daughter or the wife, of the man she had an affair with.

JaneJeffer · 22/03/2026 22:45

I don’t think women usually strangle other women to death so it would be very unusual.

AlwaysRightISwear · 22/03/2026 22:47

I don't think it's the daughter and probably not Steven's wife based on their reactions tonight.

SydneyCarton · 22/03/2026 22:55

I’m now wondering if Sarah was also having an affair (or had previously had an affair) with Paul, and had chucked him for Stephen, so he killed her and is trying to frame Michael by insisting Alana tells the police about the diary. He’s starting to look like one of those characters who isn’t there for any other reason except to be the killer, and he’d know all about everyone’s routines and timetables and when the dog walker would come past etc

purpleme12 · 22/03/2026 23:06

Oh god so Alana's telling them what's in the diary pages but can't actually show them it now 🙈

moto748e · 22/03/2026 23:17

Michael seems to be living in his own little universe of self-pity, all those soulful looks... 🙄Alana is weird, Paul is weird, Craig is a psycho, but is there a new suspect in town?

They’re all so weird! I’m glad I visited Bristol before I watched this otherwise I would think it was full of weird, starey, humourless people Grin
Michael has that Mr. Darcy thing going on.

moto748e · 22/03/2026 23:45

Yes, I worked in Bristol for many years, and know the city quite well. It seems to be a bit of a different place these days, though.

PrincessScarlett · 22/03/2026 21:57

She was scared of him. But we don't know him is Michael.

Wasn't there also something about "the poor students"?

So I think the deputy head.

There was something that Michael covered up/smoothed over for him.

Maybe Sarah found out?

PrincessScarlett · 23/03/2026 09:35

Yeah I'm starting to think Sarah was murdered because she found out something that was going on at the school and Michael has absolutely nothing to do with it so all this focus on Michael is just a red herring.

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2026 10:53

Did Sarah put the key back with the evidence or has she still got it? Why did they zoom in on the door lock after she got back in the car? Has it been changed maybe?

Alana's Paul is odd . Why did he tell Alana to take the diaries to the Police . Was it because it would take any possible suspicion away from him.

Dylan is right about his thoughts on Michael , so will Michael go through with killing himself ?

Sarah is Michael's late wife.

Meredusoleil · 23/03/2026 13:54

Who was murdered. Do you mean the detective, Annie?

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2026 13:57

Yes Annie not Sarah 😶‍🌫️

moto748e · 23/03/2026 14:03

I'm unclear which case the key in evidence came from. Was it the cold case? The tape editiing (or not) from the previous ep was weird, cos Annie couldn't wait to play it to her bosses, who weren't very interested. Suggesting that she'd mocked it up to present a convincing case to her boss. But that doesn't make a lot of sense either, as Annie (I think) doesn't think Michael did it anyway.

dontcallmelen · 23/03/2026 14:03

Is Paul odd for the sake of it or because he is the killer, could also be him Sarah was afraid off this better be good tonight & not a damp squib bit concerned it will be rushed as they’ve drawn it out a bit.

dontcallmelen · 23/03/2026 14:05

I think the evidence bags were from what was found on Sarah, where the tape recordings come into it & what Annie’s intentions were I have no idea.

Meredusoleil · 23/03/2026 14:06

The key was found in the evidence bag from Sarah's dead body.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 14:15

They thought she was seeing one of the brothers

maybe its the other brother

I would change the locks. It’s been years so course the key didn’t fit

moto748e · 23/03/2026 14:18

Well, what with the brothers being such as pair of charmers...

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 14:49

Well Micheal def didn’t do it. He feels guilt over her death but he’s not the killer

I still think claire g is important /well know actress - tho i didn’t recognise her till someone said on here 😂😂

but a woman wouldn’t strangle so guessing daughters bf as he seems intent on telling Alana he did it

or

was the affair bloke under phone wife’s name

or

his son the rugby player

so basically I don’t know 😂😂😂

but I said from e1 it wasn’t Micheal

roll on 9pm

ErrolTheDragon · 23/03/2026 15:09

The key was from the search of the area near her body I think rather than actually on her.
