new 6 part series stars Eve Myles (https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/lifestyle/a65948077/best-eve-myles-dramas/) (Keeping Faith) as gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy, who's investigating the mysterious disappearance of Bristol woman, Sarah.

And the chilling twist is that Detective Cassidy’s main suspect is Sarah’s husband, Headmaster Michael Polly, who's played by none other than Sherwood's David Morrissey. Genius casting indeed!

Gone is a chilling mystery focusing on local Headmaster Michael Polly, played by David Morrissey (The Long Shadow, Sherwood), who becomes the prime suspect in his wife Sarah’s disappearance.

An upstanding member of the community, Michael Polly is inscrutable and likes order and precision in his working life.

Until, that is, he encounters super bright, gutsy Detective Annie Cassidy, played by Eve Myles (The Crow Girl, Hijack) and a compulsive game of cat and mouse begins as she chips away at his veneer in search of the truth.

Beneath the surface of the mystery, lies a deeper exploration of trauma, trust and the legacy of elite institutions.

The series also stars Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barratt, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham and Clare Higgins.

I'm a bit late to the party on this.

Binge watched all episodes and then had to watch the final one on ITVX as I couldn't wait to find out the ending.

I won't spoil anything for those waiting for tonight's episode but I just wanted to say that this is the best TV drama I have watched in ages!!

Superb acting from the two main characters.

Enjoy the ending everyone.

I'm going to be very annoyed if dodgy ex turns out to be a serial killer. My money's on the deputy head.

Not as annoying as if an obsessed ex suddenly appears!

Well, what with the brothers being such as pair of charmers...

What brothers

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 19:19

The ones she found with a past record attacking women
But they look to have been ruled out now.

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2026 19:22

I think I have missed half of what is going on due to 💤 pace

I think Eddie was the one who died.

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:06

Annie is right. saying he is to blame is not him saying he did it.

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:08

At last Annie has someone on her side.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 21:09

That’s what I said. He feels it’s his fault. But why

Paul is so bloody manipulative 😡

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:11

Maybe he thinks Alana did it.

SydneyCarton · 23/03/2026 21:13

Surely the noose wouldn’t still look like that if he’d tried to hang himself? And why is there no mark on his neck?

dapsnotplimsolls · 23/03/2026 21:13

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:11

I've just tuned in. I agree.

PrincessScarlett · 23/03/2026 21:13

Why is he confessing? Who is he protecting? It can't be Alanna as Sarah was strangled.

Probably fancies that lovely house. With his girlfriends mum dead and if her dad goes to prison for murder he could then propose while Alana is vulnerable

I think it's a tied house for the headmaster not his own.

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:24

Nothing about the cold case so far tonight.

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:29

Of course we saw that interview.

AlwaysRightISwear · 23/03/2026 21:32

So maybe it's Dylan and it turns out his dad killed Tina?

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 21:32

🙀🙀🙀

David Morrissey is an awesome actor. Michael has been a cold fish for 5 episodes and his avalanche of emotions tonight is astonishingly good.

I hope it's not Dylan ☹️

I was thinking one of the two

but now not sure
