Cochrane reviews not enough for her? But that's another story, and probably not a tangent we want to go down on this thread. She seems pretty sensible, otherwise.

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:40

because his milk diet means he has toddler diaorrhea.

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:40

she does, doesn't she?

SparklyGothKat · 16/06/2008 21:42

ha!! He can eat..........!!!

ViolentFemme · 16/06/2008 21:42

Aitch - I am surrounded by fatarsed weans who are fed junk every day, so I find it difficult to reconcile this in my head.

On the other hand, my friend from school would eat nothiong but Heinz tomato soup for years and he's now fine!

falcon · 16/06/2008 21:43

It seems as though he's wanted to eat all along, but has been restricted and held back by his mother's anxiety problems, not his.

Hi. Just been reading as watching the program.

I am struggling with my DD who is 21 months, she will not eat very much and is underweight. I am quite worried but HV doesn't really say much. One day DD will eat something and then the next day she wont eat it. Today for instance she has had no breakfast but bottle of milk, small bit of chicken and rice for lunch, half packet quavers and drink of milk in afternoon and about4 pieces of pasta for dinner and small tub of ice cream. She barely eats anything!

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:43

LEAVE THE BOY ALONE, ffs!

Heifer · 16/06/2008 21:43

why when he finally agreed to try to eat something does it have to be junk food?

PictureThis · 16/06/2008 21:44

God the woman needs to take a breath!

PictureThis · 16/06/2008 21:45

(Bobby's mum I mean)

falcon · 16/06/2008 21:45

A hotdog is less than ideal, but nothing wrong with having one occasionally, and I think I'd be too delighted to see him eating solids to care about how junky his first solid food was.

i suppose a one-to-one trip out with his dad is a great treat for him, so that might encourage him. it might just as easily have been a fishing trip and a picnic.

SparklyGothKat · 16/06/2008 21:47

Did I see a pushchair too?? I think she is babying him far too much

bethoo · 16/06/2008 21:47

the kid on the milk looks slightly overweight and he is on milk! the others look healthier on wotsits and chocolate! feel sorry for the teachers of that boy with the crappy nappies! his mum should have another baby and let her son grow up, maybe not another baby but you know what i mean!

Twiglett · 16/06/2008 21:47

strawberries

the average 2 year old will eat 11 tablespoons of food a day (it's not much, measure it out and see) and this includes all food including snacks

the average mode of eating is to eat a meal one day and then nothing .. as long as they are eating a 'meal' once every 48 hours (averaged over 10 days) .. don't worry .. that's fairly normal too

don't hover

eat at the same time as they do and just chat .. but not about food .. and don't keep offering, put food in front of her and let her do it herself

if you're worried she's not getting enough calories add butter and cream to things

HTH

bethoo · 16/06/2008 21:49

and he has purple bags!
formula cant be that good for you!!

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:51

agree with twig, strawbs, soem days they eat more than others ime. however, if my dd wasn't eating a lot i'd be making sure that she was maxing out on cals and vits where possible. like... i'd give the quavers a miss and maybe offer some chopped fruit?

Habbibu · 16/06/2008 21:54

I like Rachel - quite a brave kid - clearly struggling with toast, but determined.

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:55

i bet arran's mum is preg by now...

Heated · 16/06/2008 21:55

So essentially Aaron's been weaned then?

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 21:56

yep. straight onto family food, lol.

Heated · 16/06/2008 21:56

I take that back, he's still on 6 bottles a day.

falcon · 16/06/2008 21:57

Bobby is adorable.

All three seem like lovely kids actually.
