I watched the first episode. Thought the leads were very good - well-cast. Had no idea that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was a chain-smoker!

I think Carole Radzi must have really pissed someone off to have been left out. The Epstein link wouldn’t have stopped them writer her as a character

I don't think her stint on RHONY did her any favors. Thoroughly unlikeable and a phony.

Floofatron · 16/03/2026 16:39

I loved Carole R on RHONY! Thought she was a great housewife.

Vodkamartini3olives · 16/03/2026 17:07

@FloofatronI though she was awful. A mean girl who though she was to good for them. Her storylines were boring, baby & Adam and name dropping the Kennedy's wherever she could shoehorn it in. She had a big fued with Andy Cohen who is very close with Ryan Murphy so that's prob why she doesn't get a mention in the show.

Nofeckingway · 16/03/2026 17:28

Ryan Murphy also did a great job on The Feud about Betty Davies and Joan Crawford.

QueefofSheena · 16/03/2026 19:39

I remember at the time Carolyn being painted as a coke head by the British press too. After they died there was even a suggestion that she caused it by getting out of her seat and fighting with him. Quickly disproved once they found them.

Floofatron · 16/03/2026 19:50

@Vodkamartini3olives she has made up with Andy now, and is going back onto RHONY although no idea how that will work with the new cast. I loved her friendship then fall out with Bethenny. She was definitely trying to be the cool girl.

I’m loving it! I’ve also been down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole about John faking his own death. I’ve always been interested in jfk and Jackie but jfk jr slipped my interested until recently. New York in the 90’s just seems so cool 🥰

Another Kennedy conspiracy? What a surprise. There have been so many extraordinary deaths of it's members that sometimes it is hard to believe that it's all due to accidents. But their circumstances, the tendency to be risk takers apply to a lot of them .
I feel very sorry for Caroline as there is now renewed focus on her especially as her daughter has recently died and her son is entering the political scene. I assume Jack Schlossberg would not be doing this without some long discussions with his family.

They have made up now and Carole will be appearing on the rhony reboot. She was on Andy's talk show in the past couple of weeks. I guess she needs the paycheck!

I’m enjoying it and remember the events as they happened though I feel Naomi Watts is miscast as Jackie O and not as convincing as the other characters. Sally Field would have been better.

QueefofSheena · 17/03/2026 15:40

Sally Field is too old.

What I find surprising is that they didn’t move somewhere more private with security/underground parking.

Citygirl17 · 17/03/2026 16:04

You're right. That would have solved the problem of the paparazzi stalking them. From what I've read, the reason they didn't do that is that John wanted to feel like a "man of the people" and explicitly did not want to feel he had closed himself off. He had been in the public eye all his life and was able to handle it. Carolyn had a completely different background and couldn't find a way to live with it. I don't know if she tried to get John to move house.

Watching this now, on episode 3.

Loving it so far, mainly for the 90s New York vibe - oh to have been a young adult in NYC in the 90s 😍

DP and I actually think NYC is going through another golden era right now (we live here) and that the post-Covid 2020s will be looked back on very fondly, but I don’t think anything can top how cool it was in the 90s…

This week’s episode was the first one that didn’t have me gripped. I kept leaving it and it took me several days to watch.

Episode 8? Not the best episode but interesting reflection on Di's death and the situation they found themselves in. I really dislike him. I read that she did leave the house but had to be up early to do so.

It's the finale this week - going to be very tragic.

Overall I've love it especially 90s NYC.

LethargeMarg · 24/03/2026 07:13

I didn’t like episode 8 but I’m wondering if this was intentional…the early episodes it’s all really fun - great job for Carolyn, lots of friends, parties, great music, clothes etc etc and then when she’s married to jfk jr her life suddenly becomes small and boring and she’s trapped in that apartment in an intense and quite unhappy situation.

Netaporter · 24/03/2026 07:22

YankTank · 24/03/2026 06:19

It was very intense as a two-hander I thought. I watch it on the treadmill each week (I like to kill two birds with one stone 😂) so I didn’t have a choice but to watch it and get to 3 miles…but it does now make sense as to how we started the series with Carolyn unable to decide a nail polish colour..which was puzzling for me because I’d always thought of CB as a strong woman. If she ended up as a shell of herself because of press intrusion, that is very sad indeed. I think we often regard the positive side of fame with envy as a society - the free stuff, glamorous events etc but I can’t imagine the stress of not being able to pop to the shops for milk or walk my dog with my hair in a messy bun without being hassled for a photo every single day. I’m sure there was a lot of poetic licence in how JFK jr and CB received the news, but Diana’s death was a major shift in this country as to how we viewed paparazzi behaviour and the fact we all willingly consumed the content it produced at that time. It’s a stark reminder of those years.

Kwondry · 24/03/2026 12:53

I think he was very spoiled and they could have moved to a much better protected location. They didn’t have to live in that apartment.

Giving up her job was also a bad move - she didn’t want to work, didn’t want do charity work and didn’t have any children. Of course her life was going to be really dull.

They kind of were the architects of their own downfall. How she thought that life could make her happy and how he thought he was capable of flying that plane, I could never understand.

Clearinguptheclutter · 24/03/2026 13:19

I’m enjoying it. I think both the leads are great individually but they don’t have great chemistry together

such a sad outcome. I think we need to take a lot of it with a pinch of salt though (see also “The crown”)- I don’t believe she was stuck in the apartment by herself for months as is suggested. Nor that the wedding guests were waiting in that little hut all day!

very sad for Caroline to have lost so much of her family in tragic circumstances

there is a good discussion about the Daryl Hannah situation on the “this is entertainment” podcast. They concluded that she’s probably be in line for a payoff. Weird that the writers didn’t see this coming in a country where everyone is determined to sue each other.

we don’t see it in full in the show but apparently her wedding dress caused quite a stir for being so sleek- very much not the norm at the time

such a beautiful woman.

Nofeckingway · 24/03/2026 13:29

They absolutely did leave everyone waiting in the heat with no air conditioning on the wedding day . Forget the name but someone wrote a book and described it as terrible . Chapel too small for the amount of guests , hot and sweaty inside . So late that it was almost sunset which is where candles came in .

YankTank · 24/03/2026 14:02

No, there wouldn’t be AC or amenities. The chapel is a now-abandoned church which was founded by former slaves. There aren’t any staff who work there.

Kwondry · 24/03/2026 15:27

She was very late apparently, I’m not sure how long. I’ve been at two weddings where the bride was an hour late and in both cases there is nothing to do but just sit there and hope she turns up.

Highonmyownsupply · 24/03/2026 15:28

pouletvous · 16/02/2026 20:54

I wonder if Daryl Hannah is that unhinged in real life?

She wrote a piece in the New York Times recently refuting almost everything in the show.

off topic but friends of mine work as musicians at weddings. It’s very frequent for brides to be late by up to an hour. Wedding musicians are typically paid for 2 hours and try and fit in a few each weekend. So a late bride messes everything up. They now try and get a written agreement that the bride won’t be more than 15 minutes late and they will leave at the pre-agreed time regardless. I have no idea how late CB was but it’s the height of rudeness!
