Anyone watching Love Story?

I watched the first episode. Thought the leads were very good - well-cast. Had no idea that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was a chain-smoker!

I found the latest episode a bit of a slog, although I guess we know it’s downhill from here which isn’t helping matters.
I agree Caroline Kennedy isn’t portrayed kindly. I’ve seen her interviewed and she seems very warm.
JFK Jr did have THE most glamorous roll call of exes. They alluded to it in a previous episode when he name checked some, including SJP.
He was seen as American royalty, hence the paps.

Caroline is played by one of Meryl Streep's daughters! She is good but the character doesn't come across as sympathetic at all.

Yes, isn’t she Mark Ronson’s wife? She’s a great actress. Of course!

It was a hard watch, you forget how vicious those paps were back then.

Im really enjoying this and my algorithm is just pics of them now! Funnily enough I don’t remember that much about them at the time but Carolyn’s style is still ingrained in me as the look I should aspire to so she was clearly hugely influential even if I would say not a household name known to uk teenagers at the time.
equally fascinated by some of the other characters such as Calvin and Kelly and Michael Bergin.

I’m watching a documentary about them on Prime if anyone is interested.

It is as similar to the aggressive attention that Princess Diana endured isn't it . And she was not prepared for it either . Think she learned how to use it eventually.No boundaries at all . I think the way things are negotiated is if they release pictures regularly they will be left alone . But there is always some unscrupulous photographer wanting to make a name .

Is it the acceptable price of fame or is it too much .

It’s baffling to me that huge groups of verbally abusive men are allowed to stalk women in this way. Hounding them at home too.
I remember the 90s where Sienna Miller and Princess Diana were chased down the street.
In any other scenario that would be a crime.

I find it odd that Carole radziwill is not featured in this series at all. Anthony is in it and is shown wearing a wedding ring as far I recall, but his wife is just not there ever. Does anyone know why? By all accounts they were very close friends and in fact it was them that they were flying to meet up with them on the night of the crash and she is the one who reported them missing. Maybe she didn't want to be a part of a Ryan Murphy drama given that he is known to be sensationalist to say the least?

I’ve been reading up about Ted Kennedy. I knew he had basically killed a woman by driving his car into water and leaving her there to drown but I didn’t realise that he only received a 2 month suspended sentence for it!
He escaped from the car but didn’t bother reporting the incident so the poor woman was left trapped for around 10 hours.
I also remember the rape charges against William Kennedy-Smith. One of the jurors later said that although the jury found him not guilty, that does not mean that they did not think he was guilty. Talk about how money talks.
Whilst I had sympathy for Carolyn Bassett and JFK jnr, the older Kennedy family seem to be corrupt, vile creatures.
Carolyn would have been better staying with the model boyfriend. Such a tragedy that she ended up with John.

There was also another cousin, perhaps on Ethel's side so not directly related to John Jr, who murdered a girl when he was a teenager. I think he was eventually convicted and served a jail term but was later released.

Doesn't Carole have some Epstein links? That might be why she's been omitted.

So many tragedies in one family . But I guess when you have that many the odds are higher . They start right from the first generation with plane crashes and forced lobotomy. The " cousins " were also affected with the Kennedy Curse . Leg amputation, drug overdoses , rapists and murderer . Spoilt entitled rich people thinking the laws of society do not apply to them .

I’m really enjoying it but I don’t think there’s great chemistry between the two leads. I like the actor who plays John but don’t find the Carolyn actress particularly charming. Still a great watch though and love all th other actors!

Yes, she apparently was good friends with ghislaine Maxwell, and she is even credited as taking the cover photo for Caroles memoir. Yes maybe this is why, although she was featured in the CNN documentary about the couple. Its just noticeable that in the show his cousin is obviously married, yet is always at the family events alone and is now facing cancer without his wife to be seen. Not even a nameless background character. Harsh lol

I think Carole Radzi must have really pissed someone off to have been left out. The Epstein link wouldn’t have stopped them writer her as a character

I think Caroline Kennedy has always been way prettier than the actress playing her in this. I think they could have chosen someone else tbh

Caroline has a very Kennedy look. I think it's the teeth? They all have the same teeth! John Jr looked very different, presumably he took after Jackie. Caroline's son looks a bit like him.

I think John looks much more like a Bouvier than a typical Kennedy. Caroline’s daughter Rose looks a lot like Jackie too, but to me her son (Jack) is the spit of Ed Schlossberg but with John’s hair! Similar slightly awkward, kooky personality to Ed too.

I’m up to date and loving the show - particularly the fashion. I recall every fashion magazine at the time being obsessed with her look which had a massive influence on what we all wore. The actress playing the young Annette Bennington was brilliantly cast - absolute dead ringer for her. Also loving Alessandro Nivola as CK.

It's interesting that Caroline is portrayed as being very stand-offish towards Carolyn because I assume her marriage to Ed wasn't exactly welcomed. He was quite a bit older than her and Jewish, which the deeply Catholic Kennedy clan wouldn't have been too keen on. Their son Jack looks like he's aiming for a career in politics now.
