I definitely don't think Lucinda handled everything right at all, she really did not help herself at times. But a group dynamic did evolve, led by Belle, which really did tip into ganging up/ bullying IMO, which is not ok regardless of what happened. And Lucinda did apologise to both of them in fact. Belle has never apologised to Leanne unless I missed it, and I think she went about it in a less respectful way than Lucinda did with Shaun (the things she was saying about Leanne for example).

Ultimately, it is also Love Island, these are not committed relationships in the outside world, Belle had also been trying things out with others before everything happened with Shaun and Lucinda, including being pretty flirty with Carrington in Villa USA. If she had come back with him I'm sure she wouldn't have thought she had anything to apologise for, it just so happens she didn't in the end. That said, I totally understand why she was so hurt, she just didn't need to vilify Lucinda to the extent that she did.

Belle is a spoiled princess who has never been told No
As another poster said, her parents have enabled her behaviour .
I actually pity her because her parents/ family aren’t doing her any favours .
If we compare their approach to Jessy’s father who told her in no uncertain terms that she didn’t behave well and was coming across negatively . Totally respected him for this

One thing I just wanted to say was that I think Belle’s Dad did want to say more and was trying to tell her to stop with the shouting but Belle was talking over him at this point.

Also it will have been edited so maybe he did say more?

I think that the problem was that Belle’s parents were pussy footing around the issue rather than just coming out and telling her that her behaviour was unacceptable and that she was coming across really badly .

I wonder this too as she she certainly led with "he told me I've said what I needed to say now and to stay in my lane" rather than "he told me I'm empowering women".!! And her reaction to walk away when Jessy came out seemed like she had been told things

I think Belle’s parents were trying to tell her to fix up but she can’t or won’t hear it. There was a look from Belle’s dad to her mum that said “I knew she wouldn’t listen, she’s blown it” towards the end of the call.

This is certainly not the first time Belle’s mouth has got her into trouble by the looks of it. But unlike Jessy, her parents aren’t crystal clear with her about her behaviour. If this has been going on for years, therein lies the problem.

But Lucinda wasn't referencing her own situation – she was digging out Belle over Leanne and Scott. It was unnecessary, so it's a bit rich she and Sean are now telling everyone to leave it.

Well it was relevant to her in the sense that Belle had displayed horrible double standards by raging at her for days, then doing similar but worse to Leanne. And no-one except maybe Whitney had challenged her behaviour whereas the same girls had been highly critical of Lucinda. That was her whole point.

So yeah strictly speaking it was Leanne situations, but it was relevant to Lucinda’s experience too.

I think after the recoupling speeches and the immediate drama after that, her and Sean had a chat and agreed they would leave things.

However then Jessy popped up several hours later to start an argument with Lucinda over what she had said. And then after Sean challenged Jessy on it and Jessy squeezed her tears out Belle kicked off again and was shouting pretty nasty things about them. Sean and Lucinda didn’t say a thing to her at that point.

And even during that recoupling before Lucinda made her dig about Belle/Scott situation, Belle had already made at least one snarky comments towards her.

I’m surprised Kaz didn’t bring up to Leanne the fact that Whitney told Scott that he was better with Belle than her. None of these ladies have been good friends to her

I’ve just seen this statement from Belle’s family on social media. I think it’s a solid take.
I just hope that all this hate doesn’t carry on once they all leave. It is supposed to be entertainment. ITV better have done post island support on tap, you can see how they are trying to orchestrate it all with the current convo’s.

Belle’s parents need to take some of the blame . Her father told her that she was empowering women.

These people always weaponise “kindness”, of course there are some nutters who take it too far with the threats and insults , but most of the criticism I’ve seen online about Belle is valid and true, not unkind .

They’re not attacking Belle’s looks or things she can’t help, they’re talking about her actions and behaviour which is right.

Perhaps if they taught their own daughter about kindness and humility a bit more than they have done, this wouldn’t be happening. Also Belles dad didn’t care about kindness when he was making direct verbal attacks on Sean and Lucinda on his Instagram.

IVe literally only seen people call belle a bully - which is what she is (debated, I know)

@FiloPasty So it’s a bit embarrassing them posting that after Belle’s dad’s online outburst. This is where Belle gets her double standards from.

He is not an unknown islander dad as well, he’s a well known actor with a platform.

How kind did he think it was for someone in his position to be posting those comments about Sean being weak, especially after he had already been giving a dressing down by his daughter?

I actually really hope Jessy goes (although Tommy seems nice).

Belle is just hot headed and doesn’t have a filter, and she’s hurt that Sean left her for Lucinda. Her behaviour has been dreadful, but at least she has a reason.

Jessy having that “supportive” chat with Lucinda, which was actually a really bitchy criticism of the poor girl’s personality was so mean and calculated.
