On Disney in May 15th 2026

Who's excited?

I can't wait the trailer looks so good.

OP posts:

I don't know who took them, good point but I'm hoping Monica possibly swaps them over so they're not destroyed..

VetMedMum · 04/06/2026 14:55

Who took the tapes?? Maud??

I thought the twins were in on it as they stopped the chap who was transporting them from leaving. Possibly Perdita?

anxietyispartofme · 04/06/2026 18:15

My money is on Maud. I don’t think she and Declan will stay together in the series.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 04/06/2026 19:12

I also think it was Maud and that’s why she sent Declan to shower.

I’m still hoping we see Ricky, Chessie and the Aldertons. Fingers crossed that Alderton Airlines in the first episode was a good sign.

CrushingOnRubies · 04/06/2026 19:57

Going camping this weekend… so have downloaded the book to re read. Might not be able to watch it this weekend but still need my Rivals fix.

SemmaLina · 04/06/2026 20:45

Ricky , Chessie and Dancer
Luke and Red
Hoping you turn up soon

Very annoyingly , I’ve signed up for a Pilates class at 9-30 tomorrow
Wont be time for my breakfast watch in peace without DH

One more episode to 'drop' tomorrow!

SemmaLina · 04/06/2026 21:56

@gingercat02 one more tomorrow ( then I won’t be watching the whole lot again on repeat , starting with Maud and Declan moving into Rutshire , oh no , not me)

anxietyispartofme · 05/06/2026 08:56

Watched episode 6. Won’t say too much incase others haven’t seen it yet- but would Rupert really have been the one to deliver that news?

Netaporter · 05/06/2026 09:56

What. An. Episode.

Bravo.

What an amazing ending. I think that deviates a lot from the book?

It didn't seem at odds to me that Rupert delivered the news. Fantastic acting from everyone involved.

I would have thought it would be the police?

SemmaLina · 05/06/2026 10:07

Luckily for me , Pilates was cancelled

OMG , not following the book at all , but Monica , what an amazing woman
Will watch again with DH later ( just going off to have a little weep )

Skybluepinky · 05/06/2026 10:10

RCB is blond in the books and good looking, no idea why he isn’t in the program.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 05/06/2026 10:16

Totally unexpected. Claire Rushbrook and Katherine Parkinson were wonderful.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 05/06/2026 10:43

The acting in that episode was extraordinarily good. How David T managed to convey that complex mix of emotions at the end, so talented.

BurntSausage · 05/06/2026 10:49

Oh my god I’ve just watched Ep6 and came straight here 🤣 wow! That was brilliant. Claire Rushbrook and Katherine Parkinson made me cry. Fantastic episode.

I would have thought it would be the police?

As someone who lived through the great storm of 1987 - the emergency services were totally overstretched as people were trapped with trees on their houses and couldn't get help - most roads/rail were blocked. It doesn't strike me as completely odd that Rupert would deliver the news.

It was more odd that nobody suffered any property damage - no tiles off/no windows smashed.

Miranda65 · 05/06/2026 12:22

I've watched Ep 6 too, and was expecting a completely different denouement.....
Wow! Claire Rushbrook, take a bow..... I have thought she was fab all series, Monica had become my favourite character, but this was just next level. Well done, all!

Alex Hassell is very good-looking, and he captures RCB perfectly, so I've forgiven him for not being blind!

Dolphinnoises · 05/06/2026 12:33

It really was a fantastic episode. Without spoiler-ing, the reaction at the end was just fantastic writing. I’ve never seen something like that conveyed so realistically - all the double checking.

On another note, I love the attention to detail - from the Hob Nobs packaging to Rupert calling Taggie a plonker!

Netaporter · 05/06/2026 12:45

Lunde · 05/06/2026 10:55

I was totally caught out in the next big storm after 1987 (89?) for actually bunking off to shag my then boyfriend and was totally busted by my Dad who’d left work early arrived at my school to ensure I got home safely in my car…after it was clear my friends were trying to cover up for me, it did not end well 😂

The 1987 storm was epic. first non-snow day school was cancelled. I recall the newscaster (maybe John Humphries?) broadcasting from what looked like a cupboard telling everyone to stay at home. Even my Dad didn’t go into the office and that was unheard of. James Vereker delivering Michael fish’s immortal line was inspired.

Absolutely loved the reference to the new-fangled hobnob biscuits (rip digestives) and bournvita (a dark cocoa malted flavoured hot chocolate). And plonker.

The Marillion soundtrack at the end was spot on.

MrsJamin · 05/06/2026 13:48

That was phenomenal - the kitchen table chat with Monica and Lizzie made me shed a tear - the kind of acting that really impacts you with its sincerity.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/06/2026 13:53

Echoing others to say Katherine Parkinson and Claire Rushbrook were amazing in this episode

Can’t believe the end.

absolutely gutted it’s not on next week - what an absolute liberty !!
